Twenty Questions (Episode 1 - Mark)

This is something which I used to run a few years ago and rediscovered as I was clearing up disk space. The idea is that every week I will ask the same 20 questions of members of the community so that we can learn a little bit more about them.

Who better to start the ball rolling than our very own Supreme Leader ...... MARK

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
Madeley, Crewe, Cheshire, England.

2. What do you do for a living ?
I am an IT/AV Technician at nearby Keele University and have been since September 2004.

3. What football teams do you support ?
I don't believe in 'teams' but just my local one, Stoke City. Internationally, England.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
I think I do. It would have been Stoke and I think I was relegated and got the sack of something similar. My earliest most memorable game was with Barnet though with the likes of Greg Heald, Mark Arber, Wayne Purser and Ben Strevens standing in my memory.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
I'd have to say Scott Huckerby. He was actually carried on from CM 00/01 and while he wasn't as good, he was still a great winger and cheap to sign in the original database.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Probably the aforementioned Barnet save where I got them as far as the Premiership and can still remember the excitement at signing a 37 year old Edgar Davids on a free transfer! A more recent achievement would probably have been the story that I wrote on the previous website (before the server move) where I took Weymouth from the Northern Premier League to the Premiership title in about 12 years but only using free transfers.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
I have absolutely no idea! I'm not a fan of these sort of questions, who knows that?!

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Do you really want to know?! The Dream Team League takes about 2-3 hours to run. Vipers is run twice a week which takes around 1.5 hours. Then you've got an hour or two of Team Chat Box and then my own story which I play. That's not even mentioning the saves that I play for fun without a story at home! I'm going to estimate at least 20 hours a week?

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
Never mind playing it, how about running it?! She doesn't mind actually. Good as gold! Fortunately, she's a little bit of a gamer herself so she'll quite often get her own games on when I'm playing CM.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
I used to buy FIFA and Call of Duty every single year for the PlayStation 3. However, I didn't buy Call of Duty last year and have yet to invest in FIFA this year. Highly doubt that I will as well.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
I'd say some of the rules that were in place in 01/02 are frustrating. Things like work permits and only being able to loan 2 players in England are quite annoying.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
There have been plenty of them over the years for us Stoke City fans. I'll never forget the year we got promoted and invading the pitch. That'll stay with me forever. Wins over Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd in the Premiership are memories that will not be forgotten but for me, it simply has to be the 5-0 win over Bolton in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley. What an amazing day out that was!

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
I hate to say it but I think it's time to get video technology involved. I'd get rid of the referees altogether and just have someone monitoring a TV and making the decisions from there.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
I'd say that I was a 'steady' player. Not spectacularly but not abysmal either. Just about good enough to nail down a spot in a Sunday League team. I spent a long time being a bench player though until I nailed down a left-wing/left-back slot for Loggerheads who unfortunately, I no longer play for.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
Other sports? Football is my life. I simply eat, drink, watch and play football.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
A house! I've been in a first floor one bedroom flat for over 4 years now and living in a small place is starting to wear me down, especially now that I have a girlfriend living with me. Having a bigger place and my own driveway, etc, etc really would be a dream come true.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Sir Stanley Matthews without a doubt. Neil Baldwin (if you don't know who he is, watch 'Marvellous', a BBC documentary and if it doesn't leave you feeling happy/inspired, then we shall fall out!). I can't really think of another two right now. As you can probably tell, I'm not into historical figures.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Caffeine! I'm not sure really. I do tend to stress over money quite a lot, especially when there are things to save for and big events going on.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
Well, I've just looked on my iPhone and it's brought up Oasis - Don't Believe The Truth although I don't remember playing them.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
I'll go with your good self, Mr. Eejit.

Why not nominate someone to question you, such as Mark (as payback) or Dermo, etc.

Only a one off ;)

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)

Mellor, a small village in Lancashire between Blackburn and Preston

2. What do you do for a living ?

IT Consultant for a global computer services company

3. What football teams do you support ?

Like Mark, I don't understand how you can support more than 1 team. It is Partick Thistle till I die (and Scotland for internationals)

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?

Hartlepool. I was very naïve and actually believed my scouts and coaches. I was sacked in February with the club about 15th in the third division.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?

Got to be Mark Kerr. A world beating Scot. I was so disappointed when in real life he joined The Jags and was totally gash ! In real life, Thistle have some exciting players, so watch out for Stuart Bannigan, Steven O'Donnell, Gary Fraser and Chris Duggen coming through. For all time favourite, I do like my spoiling midfielder, someone like Patrick Vieira.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02

Tough one. There have been so many rags to riches that everyone has done. In my current story, I'm starting my 11th season with United, a club I despise, and that takes some dedication. I hope that my greatest achievement will be my next project, whatever that might be.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?

It would have to be something weird that nobody had heard of, for instance a Sunda Colugo (yeh ! I had to google it too)

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?

Not as much as I used to. I used to spend a lot of time traveling and in hotel rooms, plus I had more privacy while at work. Probably 5-10 hours per week. (That doesn't include 24 hours per day pondering on whether that left back at Carmarthen Town would improve my defence)

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?

I'm not sure that she knows. CM is my guilty secret !

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?

I am the most uncoordinated person alive, so any game that involves hitting one of many buttons in an instant I am useless at. I do enjoy Guitar Hero. Even though I am rubbish at it, I am Angus Young in my mind.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?

I don't like that it is so easy to become world beaters with whoever you manage, but then again, later versions I don't like because they don't have that instant gratification. I guess the thing I hate most is the addictiveness.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?

Easy. 14th March 2006 Balmoor Park, Peterhead. Scottish League Two promotion playoff. Thistle 3-2 down to Peterhead with 30 seconds of injury time left to play. We get a freekick. Billy Gibson hits it and it comes off a defenders arse to wrong foot the keeper. Balmoor erupts ! We go on to win the penalties

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?

The opposite of Mark ! A one hundred year moritorium of any technology. The beauty of the game is the controvertial moments and the discussions of “what if” or “did it” or “was he”. There is a certain satisfaction of feeling hard done by. I'd also have a life time ban for any manager criticising a referee for his own players ineptness and an automatic doubling of the suspension any sending off that is challenged and not won.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?

Not very. I was enthusiastic rather than talented. I was becoming a decent keeper when I got a nasty injury (compressed fracture of skull which broke their striker's knee cap) and I have never played again.

15. What other sports do you follow ?

I'm a pretty decent skier (done a bit of instruction). I love the Tour de France and I'm also a bit of a petrol-head

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?

Partick Thistle, but what would I do with the other £3,999,999.50. I'm not a compulsive spender, so this is hard. A shotgun and an owl hunting licence (see question 18).I'm at a stage where I have a nice house and car and can go where I want on holiday, so there is not much that I need. I'd probably buy something sparkly for my wife. (I'm actually a bit of a romantic and totally unlike the guy who writes my stories). How much does Frankie Bridge cost ?

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?

Frankie Bridge, Pixie Lotte, Karen Gillan and the girl who started across the office a couple of weeks ago who's name I don't know …. yet. Actually, that would probably scare the shit ot of me. Jo Brand, Albert Einstein and William Wallace would make an interesting dinner party, with Heston Blumental doing the cooking.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?

I thought it would be nice and quiet living in the country, but the ****ing wildlife drives me mad. There's a bastard owl which hootls all bloody night and then the morning comes and the other birds never give you a sodding lie in. (Also, there is this problem about whether to sign that left back from Carmarthen Town)

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?

Public Service Broadcasting “Inform Educate Entertain”. (Actually I've just checked and it was Lou Reed's “NYC Man”. A bit old, but not un-cool. I have been listening to PSB a lot though)

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?

Hadrex (who is the newest member to announce themselves on the New Signings forum). I didn't want to offend anyone with favouratism, so instead I'll offend everyone equally.

Cafcjgreen

What would you do with the other £3,999,999.50, haha! Knew you'd get a mention of Frankie Bridge and Pixie Lott in somewhere!

Didn't realise you actually live in England. Also about your skull injury as well, football can be cruel sometimes!

Are you planning on creating a new thread for each interview? I thought you were sticking with the one and renaming it when the latest one is posted? Either way is fine by me, anyhow!

Kingsley
10-11-14, 11:47 AM
I've lived in England for a long time .... all of my working life ! I am slowly working my way home. Croydon - Ayelsbury - Warwick - Manchester - Blackburn.

I keep changing my mind about how to do this, but I think a separate thread for each interview will be best. Makes it easier to reply to previous interviews and to catch up if you are away for a few weeks.

PS. The girl in the office name is Lauren :)

Great little post this Eejit, didn't realise you were so close to where I live! How have you kept your secret CM life away from the missus? You write a lot of stories, she must have clocked you playing or writing or browsing the forum surely?

Just a note on whether it should be a thread each or all in one thread, I personally think it should be all in one thread otherwise each one will get one page of replies and then get buried forever. If they were all in one thread you'd have a popular megathread full of interesting posts and content. Just my two cents.

3. What football teams do you support ?
The mighty Leeds; inherited from my Dad who grew up in Leeds. England is my main international team but I also follow Wales.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
Leeds on the original DB. I had a great run winning three league titles and two champions leaguesa in ten years (Non Wibwob of course).

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
Got to be Mark Viduka, was amazing for me and averaged more than a goal a game when he was at his peak. Mike Duff and Mark Kerr was also great for me.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Taking Malmo to the champions league semi final after a stunning 89th minute winner in the second leg of a quarter final against Liverpool.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
An eagle; I have always wondered what flying like a bird would be like.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
10 to 15 hours depending on how interested I am in my current save. I tend to binge pplay on Friday for about 4 or 5 hours.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
Currently single. My friends and family are a bit confused as to why I play an old video game especailly as I never played it until it had been out for a decade.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
Civilization 5 and Fifa mostly, I mostly play CM to be honest.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
The difficulty of getting a job abroad. I really wished this was patched. Luckly I can play CM 0001 if I want to move around.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
When Leeds beat Man Unt in the Fa Cup at Old Trafford in 2008.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
Other than video refereeing it would be cool to see games played on a smaller pitch with the same number of players as the game would become alot more end to end and fast paced.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
Frankly shit. I usually play centre back as I am quite tall and physical. In 5 a side I make a decent keeper as I fill the goal.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
Bit of Cricket, bit of F1 and I play Golf a bit, but football is by far my favourite sport.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
A big house in the welsh valleys with a load of sheep dogs and retire (before I've even started working).

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Marylin Monroe for obvious reasons, Einstein, Tolkien- I am a big fan and Napoleon - as he was a tactical genius and inspirational leader.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
CM. Its a beast, I have wasted so much time on this game. Did i say wasted I meant to say invested.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
I would have said "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, the last track was 'Velvet Morning by the Verve.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
I don't really know4 anyone well enough to choose so I will select the latest person to comment on the twenty questions thread who is yet to be interviewed which is Bevchenko - you're up.

Hadrex is a comparative nipper and came to the game late, which is fantastic. If you're a wee bit of a geek, you'll really enjoy Warwick though you'll tire of the commute from Coventry or Leamington by the time you leave.

Why is it so many people have iPods?

Rich feckers!

Awesome to learn of the newbies around here, maybe it could be an important feature in the 'welcome/new members' section to ease the tension.

Off-topic (while not): by the merge does that mean that the title of the thread is going to change continously? and if not, why not just 'Twenty Questions' and then have a link to each post within the thread. Trying to help re-readibility for other new people wanting to get to know the people around here :)

Can't wait for Bev to take the seat :P

Bevchenko

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
I currently live in Sydney, Australia. I moved here in January 2014 for my job. I previously lived in Nottingham (work) and Leeds (family) in England.

2. What do you do for a living ?
I'm currently head of sales at Allphones Arena, which is Australia's largest indoor arena which plays host to the biggest international music and sport events in the world, last week we had The Rolling Stones, and also UFC. So it certainly keeps me busy. Previous to this I spent 2 years as head of sales at Capital FM Arena, and before that 4 years as Business Development Manager at Nottingham Forest Football Club.

3. What football teams do you support ?
I support Nottingham Forest, which I came to support due to me wanting to be Stan Collymore growing up (yes my hero is a dogger and a wife beater). I also have a soft spot for Sheffield Wednesday (as ALL my family are die hard fans), Arsenal (as my brother spent 11 years there), and Frickley Athletic as they are a non league side based just a stones throw from where I grew up.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
Like most people, I jumped into the club I support, Nottingham Forest. I think I finished around 7th-9th in my first season, I know I was close to the playoffs in the final few days and got a bit frustrated when I didn't make the cut and thought the game was shit and decided not to play the game ever again, until about two days later..

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
Favourite on 01/02 is a joint effort and were always my go to men; Kennedy Bakircioglu and Kim Kallstrom. In real life my favourite players have all retired!! Guti, Stan Collymore, Gabriel Batistuta and Jose Luis Chilavert!! Currently I have massive admiration for Francesc Fabregas though.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Easy, ODB turning Sampdoria into the most dominant team in the world spanning two decades. I also enjoyed prolonged success with Real Betis, and IFK Goteborg

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
An Orca whale, loveable and nice on the outside but an absolute predator (not in a rapey way) on the inside.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Not much as with most of us growing up work takes over!! I try to get one game a week in though!!

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
She doesn't mind when I play on the PS4 as she can watch it and think most games are like films. CM however she can't stand as she doesn't enjoy watching it and I won't speak to her for hours on end when I'm having a proper session!!

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
Too many to list but mainly; FIFA series (PS4), Madden series (PS4), COD series (PS4) Elder Scrolls (PC)

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
Work permits when I uncover a gem, at least let me do an Arsenal and sign the kid and loan him out to Spanish clubs for 5 years!!

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
Interesting question!! Nothing beats the feeling of seeing your club win something. Unfortunately for me I've had more near misses and heartbreak than the usual fan, but winning promotion on the last game of the season from League One and the way we did it will stay with me forever. For my favourite single moment...NOTHING will beat David Beckham's freekick against Greece deep into injury time which saw England qualify for the World Cup 2002. Here you can all watch it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=t0GESlaVNdE

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
I'd dissolve FIFA and form a new World governing body. The game needs it.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
I was handy as I used to be able to run 100m in 11 seconds, and I usually played upfront or on the right wing. I've also got a throw in that Rory Delap would be proud of. However my fledgling career was ended at 17 as I chose University over signing for Scunthorpe United. Unfortunately plenty of family and friends made it in the real game and some of them have made a killing. I still play for my local "soccer" team here in Sydney and still doing a decent job upfront.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
I'm a massive fan of NFL (Tennessee Titans), and of Formula One.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
More property, and maybe a decent sized yacht to get around Sydney Harbour!!

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Agamemnon, Kurt Cobain, James Dean, Michael Jackson.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Mainly the hot weather, although can't complain too much!!

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
Fortunately it was The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black, I'll be honest though; the last two songs before that were worryingly both One Direction songs!!

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
So many to choose from!! - Janis89 will no doubt have some ridiculous answers so over to you buddy!!

Kingsley

Q4. Have you or any of your family appeared in the game ?
Q12. That was a strange game. Beckham almost lost it by running ll over the place and none of the others knew what he was going to do next. I remember Gerrard and Lampard looking at each other totally lost. He redeamed himself with one kick. Strange game.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
I'd have to say Scott Huckerby. He was actually carried on from CM 00/01 and while he wasn't as good, he was still a great winger and cheap to sign in the original database.

sorry for being late when talking here... but isn't Scott Huckerby the one from telford? He actually goes back to CM98/99 when he was already an OK player and cheap. :P

Favourite concert ever was Rolling Stones at Hyde Park, London in 2013. They also did a decent job here last week. I'm currently at work now with Katy Perry haha.

Best surprise performance would have to be Bruno Mars he's a really good entertainer!!

I wouldn't say unknown band for Australia but definitely for a lot of the world Silverchair!! They're actually my favourite band of all time. Check them out.

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)

Bondi, Sydney, Ausralia

2. What do you do for a living ?

General Manager for a Height Safety/Access company

3. What football teams do you support ?

Man United (Dad was a season ticke holder in the Best/Charlton days and was born a mile from Old Trafford)

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?

My brother introduced me to this one after we both used to play this one originally and then we both got CM01/02 for Xmas one year, we were instantly hooked and would spend hours, of course both being United fans we had to flip to see who would manage United. One of our other frends was an Eveerton fan so whoever didnt get United would always be Everton. Cant remember too much but we were both pretty shit and never won alot. It was my bro who found another foru wth hints and tips (more like cheats) so we sarted snaping up the legendary players and started to improve drastically. I remember my brother showing me how to use the editor and of course I made myself a superstar striker for my home club Lincoln City http://lh5.ggpht.com/_sLN-4LHcbvM/S9KpYiXossI/AAAAAAAAEho/cvv3n2EkOBc/image_thumb%5B1%5D.png?imgmax=800

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?

The guy I am gonna choose is Pawel Brozek, a) he was an abslute beast in a save game I had and actually put 5 past United (my bros team) for Everton at Old Trafford and b) I loved his name. Real life my fav player in this era has to be Ronaldo. Just for his flair/skill and goal scoring record.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02

Would have to be playing with Lincoln United, taking around 25 seasons, non wib wob, no scouting tools and a standard 442 to win the PL and then the PL and CL the following season. Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, this was al before I knew about WIB WOB and CM Scout etc etc

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?

Monkey, im cheeky and Im always messing around annoying people.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?

Funny this question come up as I just yesterday loaded up CM for the first time in around 4 months. have it open now and am having a game on the new update. Will probably play all day today as I am off work. Normally though Id play 2-3 hours a week

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?

She desnt know I 'play' the game but Ive told her I used to be involved in edting/scouting. She said it was 'cute'

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?

Got a PS4 so play Watchdogs, Call of Duty and Fifa 15. Dont really play any other games on the Laptop/PC. However, am quite addcted to Mystery Manor one of the Facebook games.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?

Just the CL structure but I wouldnt say its an annoyance. I am sure like everything else someone will crack it soon enough.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?

Has to be the CL final United beating Bayern, watching it with the old man and seeing him in tears of joy

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?

I would remove the option of a draw in league games. Play to win, after 90 minutes the first team to score wins. Could go ether way tho, teams become more cautious or they go for the win....

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?

I was a decent strker/attacking midfielder. Youngest ever player to sign school boy forms for Mansfield Town at 9, moved over to Lincoln City and played in their Under 18s. Had trials at Sheff Wed and was asked to go play for Notts County but rejected due to travel. Wrote to Man United asking for a trial. Played for Lincoln United for a year or two in the old Uni Bond and was scouted by a couple Div 1 and a couple prem teams (so the club secretary told me) after that I thought I had made it, never trained, started shagging women and found alcohol, a bad ankle injury, piled on te weight and never got back into it.

15. What other sports do you follow ?

Im a keen golfer, play off 6 right now. Got down to 4 and have shot many round under par. Dont practise enough. Used to play county standard at Tennis to so not to bad at that still, also love a good game of Pool.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?

Id pay for my brothers visa so he could come live in Australia too, then Id buy me and the Mrs a nice rooftop apartment overlooking Bondi beach.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?

1) My mums mum, she died when my mum was 15 and my mum aways says what an amazing women she was
2) George Best
3) Nelson Mandella
4) Clarke Kent

18. What keeps you awake at night ?

Work, running a company is very stressful and Im often waking up wonderng if I had sent that email or rthat text or paid a bill on time,

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?

Ana Criado & Nitrous Oxide - Before I Met You

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rByPqEbaavw

I'm sorry, i have to make a small suggestion since i would love to hear this out of everyone.

Shouldn't there be a question of the most emotional moment we have ever seen in football? There were so many, whether it's the departure of great players (Beckham, Shearer, Hyypia), incredible last minute goals, etc...

I'd say question 12 covers that?

Yes, it does, but, for example, a departure of a player isn't exactly your favourite moment.. Neither is a defeat of your favorite team in a big match. It's emotional, but not really something to remember with joy.

Since The Eejit wasn't here to post this, i thought he forgot about the PM i sent him, so, because i won't be around much for the coming week, i'll put my answers myself, i hope no one minds. :)

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
Belgrade, Serbia.

2. What do you do for a living ?
I am currently in my first year of a higher (We have a thing that is, in terms of quality, in between high school and actual college) school of Electrical Engineering in the area of Audio & Video Technologies.

3. What football teams do you support ?
Ever since i saw the 2004/05 Liverpool machine created by Rafa Benitez, i instantly knew this was going to be my favorite team. It still is.
I also supported, as a native Serbian, Red Star Belgrade, but domestic football here is nothing other than conspiracies, corruption, fixing results, illegal transferring... Money made its way and destroyed what Serbian football once was, so i gave that up. There's no love anymore. Only the older people who talk about Bari and Tokyo in '91 and the good old days.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
I remember my brother was playing a game that, to me, looked like something i came to know as Microsoft Excel (I was about 7). I asked him what it was, he showed me the ropes, and as i watched him play more and more, i started to understand how everything worked. In the meanwhile, i saw Maxi Lopez on TV when he was in Barcelona, so i asked my brother which club is he in in CM, so i started managing River Plate. In my fourth season, i managed to win the Copa Libertadores.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
In the game, my favorite player of all time has got to be Fernando Cavenaghi. Might have to wait for a bit, but he becomes a beast after 2-ish seasons, scoring 2.5 per game guaranteed.
My real-life idol from football would be no-one other than Ronaldinho.
From my childhood to growing up, he taught me fair-play, taught me never to cry, but to laugh over a lost ball, he taught me respect towards the other team and all the fans, even taught me some dribbles.
Basically, where i come from, football was only watched because "Ronaldinho was playing". No one cared what team it was. During his time in Barcelona, he created something unique, something really inspiring. I don't expect anyone like him to show up for a long, long time.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02?
Few years ago, I signed two 16-year olds from Vitoria and brought them to Fiorentina. One was an AMC, other a striker. I watched them play for my club until they were both 38. The AMC broke the 1000 games barrier, while the striker scored 890 during his career at Fiorentina. I saw them play their last game together, both scoring and assisting each other towards a 5-1 win over Inter for the Scudetto, and i saw them retire together after their last game. Then i knew i fully understood the regen mechanics of CM (i was probably 12 then).

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
Probably the sloth, since i am incredibly lazy sometimes.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
About 5 hours tops. I grab whatever free time i have left for some other stuff instead, but i still play the old gold.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
I am currently single. Although, i have many friends who support me playing this game. Many of them play it themselves, actually. Even one of my teachers.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
DotA 2. I don't know why i haven't stopped due to the awful amount of players who aren't bad as much as they are rude and ignorant. Somehow, i just keep coming back.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
"Believes the club needs more squad depth", "Name Surname fuels transfer talk" among other things. Although, offering insane amounts of money for a player and him signing for about a million for some other team can be annoying as well.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
Liverpool - Milan ECL final, 25.5.2005.
I remember everything about this match. I watched some of the greatest players ever in their prime, and i watched the best Liverpool team of the 21st century. And i watched my favorite team win. Doesn't get any better than this.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
I would remove the away goal rule. It would make certain games much more interesting. Plus, when your team needs to win and accidentally concedes a goal, it's a bit harsh to suddenly have to win by 4 goals.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
I was god-awful at football because my technique and dribbling sucks, but i am quite good at free kicks. Also, i can do a mean spin. I am pretty sure i once repeated the Roberto Carlos free kick. Without Barthez, of course.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
NHL and NFL. My brother loved that stuff, so i would occasionally watch it with him. Suddenly, i knew all there was to know. Just like CM!

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
Well, if there is ever a mad scientist that starts claiming about how he can bring people back from the dead, i'd give it to him so that he could give me at least a day with my old man.
But, since that will probably never happen, i would most likely buy a nice little house on a Cape Verde beach, and a nice old-school car to go along with it. I always wanted the Ford Crown Victoria from '85.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
- Nelson Mandela
- Mahatma Gandhi
- George S. Patton
- Friedrich Nietzsche

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Well, i do have sleeping problems already, but sometimes it's the dumptruck that comes by around 2:30 AM.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
Eiffel 65 - Silicon World. I don't even have an iPod. I use my phone for music.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
I'd like to nominate my fellow Liverpool fan, and possibly one of my favorite members of this forum, Redknapp69. :)

Twenty Questions (Episode 7 - Redknapp69)

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
Reigate, England

2. What do you do for a living ?
I am a Client Services Director in the Entertainment (Film/Music/Games) industry. Some of the clients I manage are Disney, Sky, Electronic Arts, Morrisons, Activision, Universal etc. Basically they use our system to manufacture stock up front and to send out for their customers. (Demand Planning/Forecasting Sales/Reporting tool)

3. What football teams do you support ?
Liverpool has always been my team but I do have Swansea City season tickets and keep a fond eye out for them. Wales Internationally

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
It would have been Liverpool but to be honest I sadly don't remember much from 1st time playing CM01/02! :( :tsk:

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
From ODB I loved Rivaldo at Barca. Favourite real life players were John Barnes and Jamie Redknapp. In recent times, Suarez at Liverpool was a phenomenal player

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Rather than 1 singular game I would say being crowned 2013 "King of the Mountain" for completing most challenges. (I've now completed all of the challenges!). I really enjoy trying different leagues/teams/restrictions/formations etc set by the challenge team

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
Panda or an Elephant - I can be a lazy fecker at times!

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Hard to put a time on it but I'm on the site viewing/posting every day whether that is in random threads or contributing to one of the many VIP areas Mark manages so well. Playing CM wise, I usually play at least every other day and as I travel a lot with my job then I am forever playing whilst on a train/flight/hotel etc! :ranger: :typing:

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
Don't think she knows the hours I spend on the forum as I'm forever on my laptop anyway and I don't think she's ever taken an interest in the game as she HATES everything to do with football!

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
Bought a PS4 and play FIFA and looking forward to getting a rugby game and Gran Turismo when it comes out. Play Mario Kart on Wii every so often vs mates

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
Hmmm - can't think of too much. I take this game with a pinch of salt with regards to anything that's not "perfect" with it. It's a fecking old game that has been brought to life by an amazing update team! :hail: Yes, some things like work permits/champ league structure/job abroad etc can be frustrating for some but if I was that arsed about it I'm sure i'd have moved over to the dark side of FM! I love CM as it is! :ok: :grouphug:

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
Istanbul - 2005 CL Final - say no more  As a secondary - I was at Swans play off final at Wembley when they got to the prem which was also bonkers. That game has really helped the City by them establishing themselves in prem league

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
Agreed with Bevva that a new body should be formed but from a rule side then it maybe not be popular on a footie forum but bring some of the rugby laws in. Complete respect to officials, TV Match Officials, Ref mics and maybe introduce sin bin! Faking injury/diving needs to be ridded from the game as well - so embarrassing

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
Was OK as a kid but chose other sports instead of footie when I got to college/Uni (namely Rugby and Golf). Started off as a striker, then somehow got moved to left back before ending up playing in a "Jan Molby" type role in centre of the park as I was always a decent passer/set piece player. Sometimes have a 5 a side kick about these days with mates or work events but hardly ever kick a ball now

15. What other sports do you follow ?
If you ask my missus she will say everything! But Football, Rugby and Golf is probably what I follow most closely, although I take an interest in the majority of sports!

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
Like most people, to look after your family, then a nicer property. Big gaff in country with a few animals and then a 2nd home with nice spot on the beach somewhere in the world would be sweet

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Like Mark, historical figures has never been my bag but let's say Bill Shankly,

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Nothing - sleep like a log! I'm lucky that I usually have no issues falling to sleep! :)

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
ACDC - Back In Black - just bought it and played today from ITunes as it is what the Ospreys (my local rugby team in Wales) run out to before games. Never heard much AC/DC stuff before so downloaded a few songs. Randomly, the one before that was "Zombies" by The Cranberries which I heard in a bar in Qatar a couple of weeks ago and decided to listen to again!

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
So many "good eggs" on this forum but I'm gonna go down the route of choosing 1 of the few members I have actually met in real life (We saw Real Madrid v Liverpool a few weeks ago in Madrid where we also met Faz44!) - and that is the AMC!

That final with Liverpool...

It is funny to remember how they got by chelsea... it was't a goal for sure but I remember that a chelsea player made a penalty in that play (and it would be for a red card) and Mourinho still talked about the ref... lol.

And in the final... that penalty for the 3-2 was a bit dubious... and your goalkeeper defending penalties was way on front of the line from what I remember... But the game sure was amazing and a great comeback. One of the best finals that I've seen in the champion's league.

I just imagine that... I must say that the english teams have some of the most epic wins... that one with Liverpool and the Man Utd in 99... just wow!

Twenty Questions (Episode 8 - AMC)

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
Ormskirk, England. A small market town about 10 miles North of Liverpool.

2. What do you do for a living ?
Database Administrator for Investec, basically data input though.

3. What football teams do you support ?
Liverpool, Rangers and Southport. Born in Liverpool and lived here for all my memorable life (apart from 2 yrs in Scotland), while my Dad's family is Scottish which explains why I support Rangers. Had a season tkt for both last year, while I've had one for Rangers since 2002-03, which weren't a bad season as we won the treble :D Just got my Liverpool one this year though. Southport is my local non league club which my mate supports and I've been going since 2005 to see them, including a number of away games :)

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
I started with Liverpool but that didn't last long, and I started one with Rangers which I still have to this day! Currently in 2045 I very rarely play it (just 4 seasons since 2008!) but I'll never get rid of it!

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
A couple of quite random ones, one of my favourite type of saves was restoring teams back to glory, Reims, Napoli and Fortuna Dusseldorf where all taken from the bottom to CL glory, and in all three saves Cameroonian striker Pierre Webo and Italian DMC Daniele di Donato where inspirational!

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Tough one, on paper probably winning the CL with Kilsyth Rangers (the team of the town where I lived in Scotland) who I swapped with another team in the Scottish 3rd division, but winning the CL with Rangers in the 2nd season on that save mentioned earlier may take it given it would have been in 2002 and well before we all knew about Tapani tactics, key stats and the like, with WelshWebWizard's Great Wall of China tactic to thank for it.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
As someone else said earlier, probably a monkey as I can be quite cheeky but not really thought about it

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Not much nowadays to be honest, I blow hot and cold, not playing it for weeks sometime's before smashing out 10+ a week.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
No girlfriend so nothing to worry about there :D

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
I've got a PS3, but once again I don't play on it regularly.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
Nothing really get's too much on my nerves, I suppose an up-to-date CL format would be nice and for it easier to get jobs abroad without editing your CA/PA/Nationality but I'm not really too bothered about it.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
Another one for May 25th 2005, aka Istanbul day! Although 3 days earlier when Celtic threw the SPL title away conceding twice in the last few minutes against Motherwell was also nice, aka Helicopter Sunday, not a bad few days indeed :D

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
Not really too sure, obviously video replays and stuff would be good so there aren't bad decisions, but it's also part and parcel of the game. If it happens against one of my teams expect me to say different though!

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
Not too bad, played as a striker for the school team and club side, and was quite a bit of a poacher, but didn't really continue playing 11 a side after leaving school. Tend to play as a centre back now as everyone wants to be a striker and I hate losing, plus I'm not bad at anticipating things so it helps at the other end of the pitch as well, plus I'm quite tall which helps aerially.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
Like to keep an eye on most sports but mainly football, cricket, boxing and snooker.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
The usual, nice car and house, and look after my family.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Another one I've never really thought about but probably past sports people, Ali etc

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Also a sound sleeper so nothing.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
Was listening to some Oasis on the way home from work, and after just checking it appears Some Might Say was the last played before I got off the train.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
I'll go with me old mate Cam F :D

I'd say the 2008-09 side was definitely better, an actual striker in Torres who was lethal back then, as well as a midfield of Gerrard at his marauding best, Alonso, Mascherano and even Sissoko who could put in a shift.

Helensburgh in Scotland

2. What do you do for a living ?
Corporate Actions Analyst for Smith & Williamson (Investment Bank)

3. What football teams do you support ?
Rangers and Dumbarton. Tho Gers love is running thin these days.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
Man Utd in CM93, won league, relegated and sacked season 2.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
Misread this, 0102? err Roberto Baggio. Marco Van Basten CM Italia & Diego Maradona

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Errr, switching back to 0001

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
A Cheetah, i like to run fast, love a bit of pussy and reminds me of Thundercats growing up.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Err. zero minutes usually, however in last week been updating/playing the 07 update so actually couple of hours. 0001, over 20 hours a week

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
She doesn't really care. She gets annoyed when i sit up until 3 in morning drinking and playing cm though on a Friday night.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
I use Wii fit for balance games, yoga and a bit of aerobic exercise. Play PSp on travels, PS2 for splinter cell and a gam called Black i love. Sensi world ofsoccer on my old xp machine.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
Where do I start. Jobs abroad, slowness, background league issue, too easy, not bing able to offer any non player any non player role. players not returning from international duty. Editor which deletes player histories.

Why did nobody apart from me realise 0001 was the better game until it was too late and the update not based on that?

They managed to feck up 0102 more and more with each patch before adding loads of feck ups in the final 3.68 patch which was released after CM4 makes me think they did it on purpose to make people think 0102 was shit and buy CM4 instead.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
Rangers doing 9 league title in a row.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
Fix the offside rule and get rid of second, third phase shit. Your offside, your offside imo.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
Striker, or anywhere across midfild in an attacking role. Fast, good skills, tall and finishig ability. Without my dodgy knee could of had chance at career in footy or athletics, tho more likely athletics.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
athletics, tennis, rugby and boxing.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
A massive fucking house at top of helensburgh, would be over a million quid but well worth it.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
Well I met and had a drink with Gazza before so can't be him. George Best, John Lennon, President Kennedy and Oliver Reid.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Work.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?

Whoa, information overload. Think I've just read 4 interviews in one go? Is it just me or it that a little bit overwhelming. I can't remember which person said which and who to comment on now.

Perhaps they should be spaced out a little bit more? Or perhaps just leave The Eejit to manage the interviews as originally intended?

As I've been nominated by Cam I'm willing to do it but I'll either way a few days and post it by myself or just let Eejit post my answers

Twenty Questions (Episode 10 – info0) - done this as dunno when I will have the free time to do it (work is crazy busy recently) :(.

1. Where do you live? (Town and Country)

Łódź in Poland

2. What do you do for a living?

Was doing various stuff, but currently working as CNC machine operator in small company producing metal parts for farming machines.

3. What football teams do you support?

Truth be told, should be only one: Widzew Łódź, my hometown team, but… After watching some Man Utd matches in early 90s I grew to support them too. ;)

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02? How did you get on?

Hmm, good question. Would probably be Man Utd as I usually pick them up to get into grips with new game (it still holds true to this day!).

5. Who is your all time favorite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favorite in real life?
This is a hard question with no easy answer. In terms of CM0102, it would probably be Javier Saviola. The goal scoring machine, man I was so pissed off he went from River to Barcelona (no more cheap like he used to be on CM0001 :P). As for real life, it might be weird for some, but Paolo Maldini. Was amazing defender and very loyal player.
6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02?

Creating successful wib/wob tactic. Seriously.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best?
The owl. As I am nocturnal creature by nature and can see really well in the dark. Och and hate waking up early in the morning .

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02?
Zero. Sadly, lost all love for the game. Found new one in Football Manager.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game?
None of that matters to me as don’t have any of the above. Who would want such a freak of nature anyway?!

10. What other computer/console games do you play?

When commuting to work, I play on phone. Angry Birds, Sudoku or GeoDefense are ace for killing lots of time. Do own 2 Dreamcasts and from time to time still play on them. You can’t beat a good session with mates on Crazy Taxi or play Soul Calibour 2 or Shenmue. As for PC anything which picks my interest, but recently, I find myself getting annoyed more often by incapable publishers/game devs who only look for $$$ not caring much about customers…

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02?
Will probably enrage vast majority here, but… Everything. This game is 13 years old and is very limited. Today’s standards I have for management games, are too high for poor CM to deliver.

12. What is your favorite moment in real life football?

Champions League finale between Bayern and Man Utd in 1999. Superb sub from Ole Gunnar to give Man Utd two goals in injury time and to win the game. Night never to be forgotten ;).

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting?

Getting rid of away goal rule. That shit doesn’t belong to football in this age. Footballers are paid to play well, regardless of stadium they are playing on.

14. How good a player were you in real life? What position did you play?
As kid in elementary school played as Goalie. Now, being 31, my knees went through lots of trouble, but still play with mates in 6vs6 small pitch games. I play as defender and am quite good at that.

15. What other sports do you follow?

Basketball!!! Occasionally I will watch men volleyball, because Polish NT is awesome at this.

16. If you won the Lottery (say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy?

Buy a house in Thailand and live there for the rest of my life.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet?

As love Japan there are 2 from there: Oda Nobunaga and Hattori Hanzo. Jack the Ripper and Josef Stalin are the other 2 ;).

18. What keeps you awake at night?

Workout + caffeine :D

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was)?

Don’t have anything related to Apple, so no iPod here, but from my phone it would be:

The Man-Eating Tree – Armed

On PC however, I listen to James Arthur CD frantically .

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next?

Our good German friend: Patinoz. :]

Just caught up with this a so haven't had much time recently to browse the forums. I think Mark hit the nail on the head a few posts ago that this thread has snowballed a bit out of control and that we should let Eejit run it periodically as some posts aren't getting the response they deserves as people are playing catch up and can't keep up.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet?

As love Japan there are 2 from there: Oda Nobunaga and Hattori Hanzo. Jack the Ripper and Josef Stalin are the other 2 ;).

Why the last two? They're amongst some of the most diabolical people this world has ever had the displeasure of conceiving so why would you want to meet them?

Craig Forrest

Stalin was an interesting figure..... so I can understand meeting him...... Jack the Ripper I assume so that info can figure out his true identity and reveal it to the world :ok:

For first one, Stalin, I can only portray him as military genius. His strategies were always interesting. Don't want to look at him as ultimate bad guy. As for second one, history again. Legendary serial killer. Struck my fancy right here. There was also another twist, but it was dismissed already. He was supposed to be Polish guy...

Twenty Questions (Episode 11 – Cafcjgreen) - As Cam F nominated me alongside Info0 and it doesn't t look like Patinoz is going to do it any time soon, I thought I might as well post my answers!

1. Where do you live? (Town and Country)

Folkestone, Kent.

2. What do you do for a living?

I work in Toolstation(A shit DIY shop).

3. What football teams do you support?

Charlton Athletic.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02? How did you get on?

Would've been Arsenal in a game alongside my brother. No doubt I finished 2nd to him in the table.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favorite in real life?

Thierry Henry and Michael Owen.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02?

I usually get bored of a save after 2-3 seasons so I'd say managing Liverpool for over 20 seasons and winning absolutely everything with them. Think I still have the save on a USB Pen somewhere.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best?

Never really thought about it, probably a dog because all I do is eat, sleep and walk.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02?

Not as much as I used to, probably about 10-15 hours.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game?

Just got out of a year and a half relationship with a girl who hated me playing any kind of video game! Glad to be single now to be honest :D

10. What other computer/console games do you play?

Don Bradman Cricket 14 on the PS3, Cricket Captain 2014 on the PC and a few other PC games like Thomas Was Alone.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02?

Not being able to change the offered squad status when trying to sign a player.

12. What is your favorite moment in real life football?

David Beckhams free kick to get us in to the world cup. I hope I never forget it.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting?

I'd introduce some sort of review system like in Cricket.

14. How good a player were you in real life? What position did you play?

I started of life as a Goalkeeper then moved to RB, RM when I became a teenager. Lost interest in playing around the age of 15 though and haven't really kicked a ball since.

15. What other sports do you follow?

Mainly just Cricket but don't mind snooker and F1.

16. If you won the Lottery (say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy?

I'd buy a nice house far away from everyone else.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet?

Not really in to historical people but I've always been interested in JFK, so I'll just go with him for now!

18. What keeps you awake at night?

I don't really worry about much at night, I just put music on and listen to it whilst I fall asleep.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was)?

Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next?

Jesus.

Mark

Not being able to change the offered squad status when trying to sign a player - That's a good one actually. It eventually goes away after a few weeks.

Indeed. But let's face it... if you just made a mistake, you can always use the contract cheat until you're able to change that. It is useful when you're trying to get a player that will be free at the end of the season and you don't need him right now... Or you can say to everyone that you really want to sign that they will be an important piece in the first team... and when they arrive: excellent player for the future. They'll be pissed off but you play some games with them and you'll be ok :P

But that sure is annoying.

Honestly you won't regret it, me and the missus are absolutely hooked. Such an interesting series and very well written.

I would almost go as far as saying I love my job. I get up for work without a heavy heart and I know exactly what I've got to do when I walk in to work. Every project is something different and I have to really think about what I'm designing on a day to day basis. If I go travelling I'm going to ask for a sabbatical - the company I work for is fairly small and intimate and I speak with the owner of the company every day so I feel like I'm more valued if you get what I mean.

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)
Rotterdam, the Netherlands, home of the Mighty Feyenoord.

2. What do you do for a living ?
I work for Feyenoord, for the Feyenoord Foundation, where I do various things. I am a development coach for youngsters who take part in our many social programs, I develop social programs, I am responsible for most of the social policy of the club. I am a busy bee. And my office has a view on the pitch!

3. What football teams do you support ?
Feyenoord since birth. Was 9 months old when I was at my first game with Dad and Grandpa. I also have a soft spot for Liverpool, who are my fave team abroad.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?
That was, of course, Feyenoord. Did pretty well as I simply remade my tactics from 00/01. Been at the CM game since 93, so I know a bit about it.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?
Of all the cheatplayers, massively overrated megastars and deep dark secret techies I liked Andrey Milevskiy the best. His versatility and extreme high ratings won me over. He came hand in hand with Maxim Tsigalko of course. And their buddies Nikiforenko, Volodenkov and the likes. IRL it's got to be Gabriel Batistuta. Loved that guy.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02
Being a solid tacticsbuilder, doing the challenges with Churky, winning stuff in all sorts of DTL's are all supercool. I've won just about everything with all sorts of teams, but still having fun with this game and being part of our little community is the best I've done.http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/537/Z8l18D.png (https://imageshack.com/i/exZ8l18Dp)
(remember this beauty?)

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?
I am a lion. Long of mane, lazy of bones. Make a whole lot of noise, scare the hell outta people but when it comes to delivering the goods, I am probably vast asleep while my wife takes care of business.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?
Between the boards, the games and the shoutbox, I'd say 20 hours a week.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?
She thinks I am nuts. But she thinks that for plenty of reasons, all of them right. She also thinks it's sweet, so it's all good.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
I play the occasional game of CM 93/94 and that's it.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?
The usual. Not being able to change your transfer bids, being superkeepered, the inability to transfer anyone decent in a first season, bidding a bazillion on a player but your rivals picking him up for two Ikea dollars. That sorts of thing. But nothing ever annoys me more than fielding a team of worldbeaters, being unbeaten for a thousand games and losing to Everton who get one shot at goal.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?
that was in 1991. After a shitload of crap seasons, we managed to actually win the cup. So, we had a massive party and walked from the stadium to the Coolsingel, the street where the Feyenoord fans gather whenever we win something. There's been gatherings of over 200.000 people, so imagine my happiness at being first row in this particular fest at the town hall.
Now how this goes; the crowd gathers near this town hall, that has a supermassive balcony on which the whole teams will appear to show off the cup we've won. Been like that for ever. This day was a rainy day. Me and my friends had about 50 beers of happiness, smoked more weed than humanly possible and were happy as pigs in shit. Then, the sun was starting to set, the big lights came on, there was more fireworks and smoke than I'd ever seen. all in all, it was a weird, loud but happy place. We were all bigeyed, dancing monkies. When, all of a sudden, something shiny appeared on the balcony....it reflected the lights and ignited a very deep dark primal roar from the crowd, as we all thought "Look, it's the Cup we've won! Let's act like idiots a bit more!!".. Turned out to be the bald head of club captain Johnny Metgod, who came to check out the crowd...It was a memorable night.http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/903/NSX2xS.jpg (https://imageshack.com/i/p3NSX2xSj)

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?
Nothing. Football is fucking perfect. I would however arm the referees with a 44 magnum to shoot players in the face whenever they mob him. This style of agressive behaviour by players who are supposed to be rolemodels strikes me as offensive. I abhor this trend of trying to bully the ref into doing what you want. In my coaching days I forbade my players to react to referees. It's hard, as there's a lot at stake nowadays and there's adrenaline everywhere, but this I just cannot and will not tolerate.http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/911/KUPYYM.jpg (https://imageshack.com/i/pbKUPYYMj) -now give the man a gun..

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
I was a player with a big heart. Played as a centre back and as a striker. Being big and strong helped. I was pretty talented, had bigger clubs eyeing me up, but titties and beer, man. Oh boy I made some silly choices back then. Nowadays I only kick the ball around a bit at the club or with my son.

15. What other sports do you follow ?
None. I'll watch the occasional match of snooker, but honestly couldnt care less about tennis, formula 5000 and all that other crap.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?
We need a striker. Pretty bad as our main man upfront is Colin Kazim .....personally, I'd buy a castle somewhere in England or Italy.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?
My father's father, for nobody knows who that is and grandma wouldnt tell. I'd love to have a chat with peeps like Lobanovsky, Herrera, old time greats, about football in days of yore, the conditions they had to work in, different attitudes in both players and spectators. That'd be awesome. There's also mny many musicians I'd like to talk to (hendrix, Barrett, Morrison, Cobain, etc), genius minds like Einstein, Oppenheimer. Man I cannot in all honesty answer this question. I would really like to know who my grandfather is though, so my dad can die in peace..

18. What keeps you awake at night ?
Fucking cat trying to crawl inside me for some reason.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?
Really-Blue Sky action-above and beyond ft alex Vargas/ cool- (I am the one)Orgasmatron-Sepultura.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?
The man I've spent way too many drunken hours with, trying to come up with fun challenges, my buddy in all things balls, Churky!!

Q18 - WTF?! :noidea:

I Always put the cat outside before I go to sleep. But my wife and son take pity on the thing and let him back in. He Always opens our bedroom door and jumps onto the bed. Puts his paws in my face because he wants love and affection. When I turn over or simply tell him to fuck off at the top of my lungs he retreats to about where my knees are. He then curls up into the back of my knees and, all the while purring like there's no tomorrow, moves his way up. Sliding and purring up the back of my legs until his nose is where the brown comes out. Been doing that for years. Weird cat.

Weird cat.

Probably quite wrong but that got me all excited reading that, was like 50 shades of cat.

1. Where do you live ? (Town and Country)

Našice, Croatia.

2. What do you do for a living ?

I teach English in both primary and secondary school. The pay sucks, but I have a lot of free time. I've never been one to chase money, anyway. It's satisfying to teach young people and kids something useful so I like it.

3. What football teams do you support ?

I properly support Hajduk Split. I've been a fan from as long as I can remember, my father passed it on to me. As far as foreign clubs go, I like Juventus, Real Madrid, Bayern M. and Man Utd.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02 ? How did you get on ?

It was Juventus. My first CM was CM2 and from that point on my first save was always with Juve for some reason. I did ok, finishing 2nd or 3rd because they had such a good team, you couldn't do much wrong.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life ?

Maxim Tsigalko by far. He was just insanely good and a guarantee for trophies. The rest of the team didn't really matter if you had him up front.
Del Piero has always fascinated me in real life. He was my childhood football hero and I've always had a soft spot for him.
Modern top stars don't really have that "something" for me. Sure, they're fantastic players but it's not "it". Maybe it's nostalgia more than anything, who knows.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02

The sheer amount of fun I've managed to squeeze out of the game over the years! I'm done with it now, but no other single game will ever come close to giving me that many hours of entertainment.
The second thing is what AJ mentioned. That time when the two of us were running the challenges was the best time of my CM "career". Few people know how many hours of playing the game, testing, brainstorming and talking on MSN went behind those challenges.
Sadly, challenges have never been that popular on these forums. Not as far as I remember, anyway. Sure, there were always a few people playing, but most would just ignore them or remain on one "good job, fellas" message in the challenges threads.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best ?

I don't really like animals, I've never even had a pet in my life nor do I plan to. Consequently, I have no idea how to answer this question.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM01/02 ?

I never play it anymore, I don't even have it installed. I've won everything I could imagine a hundred times over and there's nothing left in it for me.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game ?

When I used to play, the wife (then gf) considered it just another part of football stuff I did, along with watching it on TV, going to games, betting on it, reading up on stats etc. etc. She knows I like it and she doesn't mind much.

10. What other computer/console games do you play ?
I don't own consoles. I play Football Manager every year and mostly grand strategy games like Total War, Europa Universalis or Hearts of Iron. I also dip into FIFA and PES with my best man from time to time.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02 ?

Nothing much. I really, really like(d) the game so even the most obvious flaws I could always get over easily. If I had to point out one thing, it would "the manager CA/PA and not being able to get a job abroad" thing. It pretty much nullified any possibility of a journeyman save.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football ?

Ah, Croatia winning the 3rd place on World Cup in France '98. I was only 11, but I remember all the games to the minute details. When we beat Germany in quarterfinals, it was literally a nation-wide party; people dancing and chanting on the streets. Amazing memories.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting ?

I wouldn't give any points for a goalless draw in the league or group phase of any competition. In the knock-out rounds, I would remove the away goal rule since it doesn't make any sense in modern day.
I would also implement some kind of hawk-eye technology with both managers having 1 or 2 challenges available during the match.

14. How good a player were you in real life ? What position did you play ?
I've never played proper football, only 5-aside and its variation. I still play it regularly. I'm decent all-around type, but my weight has always been a problem. I'm not huge by any means, but it's enough to lose that one step or quick turn you need.

15. What other sports do you follow ?

The stuff Croatia is good or decent at: basketball, handball and tennis mostly.

16. If you won the Lottery ( say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy ?

https://wordswithimages.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/jagermeister_bottle_photo-643832.jpg

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet ?

4 guys who know the answers for historical mysteries like pyramids, Stonehenge etc.

18. What keeps you awake at night ?

Playing too much FM or EU IV and then my mind still racing when it's supposed to calm down.
Aside from that, I get days when a lot of stuff is happening at work I need to take care of so it keeps me awake, trying not to forget anything.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was) ?

I don't have an iPod.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next ?

I know a lot about most regulars here, but I'd like to know more about faz44.

"I don't really like animals" :tsk: can't grasp this

"Sadly, challenges have never been that popular on these forums. Not as far as I remember, anyway. Sure, there were always a few people playing, but most would just ignore them or remain on one "good job, fellas" message in the challenges threads."

I think not. It is not a place to "good job, fellas" kind of interaction but it means a lot to lots of members and players and lots of peole use those challenges, it just gets very few feedback. I love every each one of them and they helped me to keep in toucch with the game a lot. It's just that when you are doing a challenge, you interact with someone that is doing the same challenge at the same time. Otherwise, it is uninteractionable (:P)

Lovely stuff Churky!

Like the Del Piero answer - the guy had a bit of magic about him

Challenges - I LOVE them! :ok:  :hail: :typing:

It is one of the things that will guarantee I keep playing the game and to experience different leagues/teams you wouldn't play normally with restriction or a random goal to meet

I have completed them all and love the fact you can be great at some and awful at others and can interact with others to share experiences

Massive :hail: to everyone ever involved with challenge team  :high5:

I agree some animals are good with potatoes!

Q19 surprised me - not that much into music or you just don't bother with iPods etc?

Finally - beautiful country you live in. I travelled Croatia for 3 weeks with some mates in 2004 - one of the best trips I have been on

Think we did Pula (after starting in Venice - weird with 4 guys and traveling through Trieste) - amazing amphitheatre
Did Zadar, Sibenik, Krka and Plitvice national parks, Split, then Island hopping for a week or so to Brac/Rab/Rijeka/Bol/Hvar/Korcula etc before finishing in Dubrovnik

It was Euro 2004 so we had football every night which meant plenty of Karlovacko was drunk every night!

I was there when Croatia were beating England (we were in one of the islands maybe Korcula or Rijeka) - I have never seen a country go so mad with flares, horns, noise, dancing, flags, joy etc. . . . . . . . . . . . then Rooney had to go and score and give England the win :(

At least we made 'friends' with a few local girls that night! :horn:

NOTE: I apologise in advance. Let's face it, I always write a bit of an essay!

1. Where do you live? (Town and Country)
Madrid, Spain (originally from Beckenham, Greater London, UK)

2. What do you do for a living?
I am currently teaching English part time and trying to find the idea that will make me rich the rest of the time. I previously worked as a business analyst, which I just can't get back into.

3. What football teams do you support?
All of my mum's family are West Ham but my older sister got me into it. My sister's a fan because my cousins sat on her head when she was 3 and told her they'd stop farting when she said she supported West Ham, a life-changing trauma on par with Patty Hearst getting kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army and then helping them rob banks.

The only other team I support is the San Jose Earthquakes, who I've followed for 15 years as they're the closest team to my favourite city in the world, San Francisco. I look out for the results of Crystal Palace and Charlton because I used to cover the former for the Bromley Times and my friend works for the latter.

4. Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM01/02? How did you get on?
I was very excited to play in MLS and it was been the Earthquakes. Early on, it was always the same; I did ok with a 4-1-3-2 until I hit a rough patch and got sacked. That Quakes team was ridiculously good; Ian Russell and Landon Donovan would cause havoc.

5. Who is your all time favourite CM 01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life?
Real life is probably Gary Lineker, I idolised him as a child along with Neville Southall. CM? I'm going for Andres d'Alessandro, as he was the missing piece of the puzzle that won me the Quadruple.

6. What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM 01/02?
In-game - either winning the quadruple with West Ham or taking a bankrupt Stoke from the bottom of the third to the Premier League title, having my best players sold from under me. I did these both before iodine or all the knowledge we have now.

In the community - either accidentally getting to number 2 in the Open Tactic League or resurrecting the league itself.

7. If you were an animal, which one would describe you best?
A pigeon - clever, underrated and overlooked but with very loose bowels.

8. On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM 01/02?
It's currently what I do to unwind before bed so 7-10 hours a week, up to 20-25 if I'm doing tactic testing. Different patches and different data sets have given it a new lease of life for me. ODB plays very differently to the updates.

9. What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game?
Depends on her mood. Annoyance to indifference. I once explained to her that the only thing I've ever committed to in my adult life, other than our relationship, is CM 01/02.

10. What other computer/console games do you play?
I've been playing a lot of Civ3 recently. I have a low spec PC and so it can just about handle 15 year old strategy games. On XBox, it's usually a sports game; FIFA, Fight Night, International Cricket 2010, UFC or EA Sports MMA. I feel like I'm turning into my dad, who basically didn't like anything new after his 30th birthday.

Though, the game I play the most is Stick Tennis on the iPhone. I'm spectacularly addicted to it.

11. What annoys you most about CM01/02?
Other than a general lack of flexibility in the game engine, it has to be scouting and training. They're both rubbish, opaque and limited.

12. What is your favourite moment in real life football?
Bobby Zamora's second goal (http://youtu.be/oaVb_4MwhaE) in the second leg of the 2005 playoff semi final between West Ham and Ipswich. He and Marlon Harewood were much-maligned but they combined twice to win that game and Zamora put us in the Premier League in the final. I just remember jumping up and down screaming "THAT'S Bobby Zamora", as if we'd finally seen what he was actually capable of.

13. If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting?
Technically Sepp can't change a rule, it has to go to the IFAB of which he only has half the votes. However, FIFA regularly changes interpretations of rules so I'd sort out advantage. Nothing pisses me off more than a referee giving advantage where none exists and not then having the ability to pull it back for the original foul. I hate the "rugby is so much better" crowd but both codes have better ways of doing advantage. In RU, the referee brings it back if they can't better their position, RL gives you a "free play", where teams will try something out of the ordinary safe in the knowledge they'll get the penalty from the original spot. What we have now is a mess and often punishes the attacking team.

14. How good a player were you in real life? What position did you play?
I have a motor coordination problem which was very pronounced as a child and meant I struggled to throw, catch or kick consistently. Other members of my family were reasonable youth/amateur footballers so it was very frustrating. I played on the right wing or upfront because I "couldn't be trusted" to play elsewhere. I did swimming instead and played Rugby Union at secondary school.

As an adult, I've played right back or right side of a back three, though I've struggled because I missed out on so much football as a kid and played with far better players. By the time I got my coordination, it was really too late. I played a five-a-side tournament three years ago and realised that if I could get fit, I'd actually be reasonably OK now. My reading of the game is good, my passing's good, I just need to lose three stone.

15. What other sports do you follow?
I used to follow virtually everything I enjoy. My wife and I watch tennis and international RU together. I follow Rugby League and MMA to a lesser extent. However, I just don't seem to have the time now and was recently looking at my comments on the Guardian website, baffled at just how much I used to know about women's football.

16. If you won the Lottery (say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy?
Plane tickets back to London for my wife and I. First major purchase would be a house in the countryside, somewhere on the Weald of Kent where I could envisiage myself raising a family and having rabbits and hamsters and dogs and all the animals with which my wife wants to fill the house.

17. What 4 people from history would you most like to meet?
* Ted Fenton, the West Ham manager who got us promoted in 1958 to find out the true story of why he left the club.
* My great-grandfather to find out if he really was the gypsy healer he claimed to be or whether he was full of shit.
* Bon Scott, because I fucking love AC/DC.
* William Randolph Hearst, the publishing magnate and the subject of Citizen Kane.

They'd keep me entertained with stories if nothing else.

18. What keeps you awake at night?
Nothing, I fall asleep really easily. However, what disturbs my sleep and has me waking up in a panic is that I'm 34 and feel like I'm on the scrapheap of life. You're supposed to learn in your twenties and earn in your thirties. I feel like I really didn't get the chance to do the former and so can't do the latter. Now the drawbridge has been pulled up, I can't even go back to university.

19. What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was)?
I don't listen to music on my iPhone, I just listen to whatever I find on Youtube. As for that...
To sound cool: "Backseat Lover" by Mayer Hawthorne is the last song I remember listening to. He's bringing back that Steely Dan sound.
Actually: Before I started writing this last week, it was was Hi-Five's "I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)". I'm not cool, I still like New Jack Swing. According to my Youtube history, I last listened to "Missing You" by John Waite, which is on my karaoke list.

20. Who would you like to be interviewed next?
I'm going for djole2mcloud.

Yep, you read that right.
He's scored TWO championship play-off winning goals, for West Ham as you mention, and for QPR last season. With promotion to the Premier League worth anything from £80-120m depending on who you ask, Bobby Z is clearly and without doubt the most valuable footballer ever!

He's scored TWO championship play-off winning goals, for West Ham as you mention, and for QPR last season. With promotion to the Premier League worth anything from £80-120m depending on who you ask, Bobby Z is clearly and without doubt the most valuable footballer ever!

I see your logic. Maybe Beckham might be a more valuable player, given he raised the franchise value of LA Galaxy immeasurably and more than made his wages back for them. With hindsight, Bobby Touch carried us to promotion really. We were ninth, probably 10 games from the end of the season, going nowhere and the chemistry just wasn't there despite everything we'd tried. Injuries and just utter despair brought us to the most sensible lineup we'd played all season; Walker, Repka, Ferdinand, Ward, Powell, Newton, Mullins, Reo-Coker, Etherington, Harewood and Zamora. Ward and Ferdinand were too young and weren't supposed to be good enough. Repka wasn't a full back. Powell was past it and Newton never had it. Mullins had no confidence after playing every defensive or midfield position other than the one he was good at. Reo-Coker was in the dog house after being too forthright with his opinions. Etherington had completely lost his way, arguably due to his gambling problem. Then you had "50 pence piece head", Harewood, the crowd's whipping boy. He was partnered by Bobby, whose song at the time was "when the ball hits the head of man in Row Z, that's Zamora", that's how bad he was. He'd scored something like 6 times in 40 games for us. In the last 13 games, I think Zamora scored ten times, including four in the playoffs, whilst we kept it tight.

Next season, Pardew's "signings for the Premiership" like Harewood, Reo-Coker and Zamora all looked fantastic. He was right, the league at that time was quite a lot about pace, whereas you could get away with being a bit slow in the Championship. Something which saw Sunderland found out very quickly in my view.

Indepth reading.. nice 1.

Do you know Adam Glossop.

he is a part time English teacher in Madrid..

There's hundreds of teachers in my company and probably a few thousand working here so sadly I don't. If he's a CM fan though, we could hang out!

Nice achievement in turning Stoke from a bankrupt club to the Premiership title, if only it were true!

I used to play Civ3 as well, you can't beat the classics!

It's one of those times where the game's mechanism for bailing clubs out just won't work for human players. The Britannia stadium had been reduced to just 2,600 and yet I was still turning a 1m per year operating profit. The problem was the 80m interest every year. We got to £447m in debt before the game bailed us out.

I was playing a bit of Civ3 just now. Real time killer, I need to uninstall it as I have no productivity otherwise.

Have to agree on advantage rule, can be total horseshit at times

I'd swallow some of what they let go if they would bring it back if it didn't pan out. Also, the fourth official keeps an eye on potential yellow cards. Sometimes the ref doesn't go back and book people.

Thanks for the comments guys.

yes,the game was awful...interesting was a lecture given to us,a young managers by Ljupko Petrovic, then Red Star manager...he told us,before match the general tactic was...whenever Marseille players cross on red Star half of the field,Red Star players starts full pressing on the player with a ball...and he was explaining all of that, around 10 minutes to them...then Dejan Savicevic, maybe best player of that generation along with Robert Prosinečki asked him...''Chief,what should we do when we take the ball from them''?...Manager replied:''We give the ball to them, and againd full pressing on the player with the ball''!Opinion was thet Red Star had much more chance for win with defensive style in that match...we had maybe the best european sweeper Miodrag Belodedic in those years (Belodedic already won European cup with Steaua Bucuresti) so i am not surprised with that descision...on the end we won on penalties...and i am preety confident that non of the ex Yu clubs will never achive something similar...

i played for U17 Yugoslav in 1996...i was that few months till my 17th birthday...i played many times for the intercity matches...selection of Belgrade play agains selection of some other town...that how national managers picks players for national team...but,those years were anything but normal, and u need to offer little more apart talent to play for national team...today isn't any better...

average salary in serbia is around 350 EURO for the full time job...so,spending 2-3 hours per day coaching for that fee isn't that bad...

jeez, that is utterly depressing. i'm all about some pragmatism to win but i recall thinking that, when red star won, this is not a good thing. given the quality of the players in that team, to resort to that tactic was just utterly depressing.

1.Where do you live? (Town and Country)

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

2.What do you do for a living?

I'm a Senior Analyst in the Canadian Firearms Program which is a unit in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that deals with all gun licensing and registration for individuals and businesses, along with all ballistics and tracing within Canada. Essentially I deal with guns and gun laws (and sometimes have to go “test” guns at the range for “training purposes”) :D

3.What football teams do you support?

Manchester United (Mom is from Engerland and is a fan)
Monterrey
Celtic
OttawaFury FC

4.Can you remember the first team that you managed in CM 01/02? How did you get on?

The first team I ever managed was Juventus but I can't remember why. I got sacked halfway through the year. Then I chose Real Madrid because they were stupidly rich. When I finally got the hang of the game I started being Man United on a pretty regular basis.

5.Who is your all time favourite CM01/02 player (any update or patch) and favourite in real life?

Alexandros Papadopoulos on 3.9.68. He scored me so many goals but wasn't injury prone like Skalidis and didn't need a work permit like Tsigalko.....and in real life it's Roy Keane.... the guy should have been a hockey player :ok:

6.What do you consider to be your greatest achievement in CM01/02

Taking Peterhead in Scottish Div 3 (at the time) all the way to become CL winners. However I'm currently trying to win every league and cup in the game and if I'm successful I think that will take top spot.

7.If you were an animal, which one would describe you best?

Well my friends might say sloth because I enjoy sitting around and doing nothing. I'd probably say a wolverine because I have this stupid habit of not backing down from things and not being intimidated...but what I'd love to be is this:

http://i.imgur.com/LcY07mL.gif
All glory to the hypnotoad :hail:

8.On an average week, how much time do you invest in CM 01/02?

If I'm bored at work I might spend an hour or two playing my win everything save. Other than that I don't play a lot at home....recently I've been patching and updating rather than actually playing

9.What does your wife/girlfriend/partner think of you playing a 13 year old football game?

My now ex-wife didn't care. My girlfriend doesn't care as long as I'm not supposed to be paying attention to her.... and like djole, my 14 year old started playing CM last year on a limited basis.... his favourite team is Man City though.... bastard chose them on purpose to piss me off :D

10.What other computer/console games do you play?

Well my kids are usually on the PS3 but when I get a chance I play FIFA,NHL, Dead Island and/or Motorstorm.... on the good PC which is still at my ex's (until she gets herself a laptop and I get my computer back) I play many things, mostly TF2 and L4D on Steam.... on the PC I'm currently using which is old and out of date, I play Rome: Total War, Dungeon Keeper 2, and the original Eastside Hockey Manager

11.What annoys you most about CM 01/02?

No Mexican League :(

12.What is your favourite moment in real life football?

1.Manchester United winning the Treble :D
2.Eric Cantona kicking the fan
3.Roy Keane crippling Alfie Haaland

13.If you were Sepp Blatter, what rule would you change to make football more interesting?

Attractive topless female cheerleaders. Computerized offside system. Champions League for the league champions, Cup Winners Cup for the teams that won their domestic cup.

14.How good a player were you in real life? What position did you play?

I discovered early on in life that I hated to run.... but being a tall guy with better than average reflexes and a fearlessness (in sports) that borders on stupidity, I decided to try being a goalie and haven't looked back since. I'm not too bad at it, apart from taking goal kicks... don't know why that is.... I can drop kick a ball halfway down the pitch but if the ball is placed on the ground and isn't moving I kick it like a 4 year old girl....

15.What other sports do you follow?

Hockey. Not fucking “Ice” Hockey you goddamn heathens!!!!! The other kind is field-hockey and it's a girl sport.

And baseball. I played baseball for years and love the strategy and tiny differences that can win or lose you a game... rarely have time to sit down and watch a full game any more but I used to coach too and I loved it.

16.If you won the Lottery (say £4,000,000) what is the first thing you would buy?

A condo in Mexico. A trip for my gf and I to visit her family in Russia. Tickets to Oz, Turkey and Europe to visit my CM friends, a new car, a new house and this watch:

http://www.omegawatches.com/fileadmin/templates/images/img_product_presentation/gents_seamaster_planetocean_ceragold/realtime_ceragold.png

17.What 4 people from history would you most like to meet?

Che Guevara (a personal hero), Jesus (because I'm a student of Religious history and the man fascinates me), Albert Einstein (because I'd just love to talk to him about science) and Genghis Khan (because Genghis Khan)

18.What keeps you awake at night?

Nothing.I sleep like a log. I can sleep basically anywhere at any time.

19.What was the last song played on your iPod (both the one you were going so say to sound cool and the one it really was)?

The last song that actually played on my SAMSUNG phone (fuck that apple shit) was “Think locally, fuck globally” by Gogol Bordello. To sound cool, I'd list something like Raining Blood by Slayer :D

20.Who would you like to be interviewed next?

OzRooster,my Aussie brother from another mother
