Its hardly a wib-wobbed tactic tho is it...how can it be if people don't know about it!

It was evident from the previous posts (since deleted) that some members felt people were doing it on purpose to exploit the game, to me that is calling someone a cheat.

    Seems not many people do

I honestly don't see what the problem is here, why do people have to point out the GK is wibwobbed, why does it erk you so much that you feel you have to mention it. Its part of the original game, it affects nothing. Like offsidelondon said, lets move on!

Here is my current attempt anyway, serving me very well with my beloved United

    I actually created a normal 4132 tatcic and a 4132 Attack Tactic.

Hey dragoo...looks a good one...play those 4 seasons again with exact same tactic...this time right click the GK to take the wib wob off...see if there is a difference!

    Helps with the debate!

    1) Is there any "non-wib-wob"-league?

    2) Which "non-wib-wob" is the best tactic? (Iodine NWW? 4231? 41212?)

    3) If we were to make a new "tactic-league" someone could upload a save game and we could run our own tactic 5-10 times and post our results?

    4) As I see it, its 3 ways to play the game

    a) wib wob tactic (extremeley easy)
    b) non wib wob (veryeasy)
c( non wib wob only standard formation (easy)

    These are impressive results Reynaldo!

Have you tried it in your regular games? Do you vary team mentality? Can we see the performances of other players? Give us details goddammit! :-p

The defensive stability of 4-4-2 (in reality and IMO) depends on keeping the back and middle four lines close together. I have tried to emulate this in non wib-wob by using a DMR-DMC-DMC-DML MR-MC-MC-ML ST-ST formation (I had normal results with very good teams but the defence was as leaky as an old man's bladder).

I used that tactic as well and found it very effective.

    Nice tactics everybody,

How come no one shares the player instructions?

    Hi all,

Plucked up the courage to feed the addiction once again, having very mixed results in my non wib/wob tactics. I'd like to play 442 but these seems to be easily beaten. I tried 4132 but seemed to get turned over by the opposition playing 442 against me.

Generally speaking I play direct, normal tackling and having my two CBs man mark (everyone else zonal) and no offside trap. From doing some reading on here it seems short passing, hard tackling, pressing and offside are the better choices. I also have seen a preference for zonal marking on the CBs. There also seems to be a penchant for a single forward.

I short it looks like I'm doing most things wrong (which would explain things!). In terms of making the 4132 formation work, what do people have as player instructions? I normally have my full backs set to 'no' on pretty much everything apart from crossing.

Lots of questions - if anyone can help with any of them I'd be grateful!

    Offside Trap - Yes

Set everyone to Zonal Marking. Have the middle MC on Forward Runs, Run With Ball, Try Through Balls - turn off Long Shots
Have the left SC with Forward Runs, Hold Up Ball
Have the right SC with Forwards Runs, Run with Ball
Left and right MC, Run with Ball, Long Shots, Forwards Runs
DMC, Run With Ball (Turn off Long Shots if on)
DL and DR, Run With Ball, Cross Ball
DC's - Man-Marking, No Forward Runs, No Run with Ball.
    GK, Passing Mixed.

Strong player with good Balance for the left SC and fast player with decent Dribbling for the right SC.

    Should be solid enough.
When it comes to 4132 I always remember this of Derm's.

that's 2 from 2 - you've been very helpful! I've always wondered about the 'hold up ball' option, but thanks again. I've got a couple of decent wingers, which is why I'd love a non wibwob 442 but I think this is a safer bet.

one final question with the 4132 are there any arrows given to player, or is it all via player instructions?

I tend to have arrows forward on the full backs and the three attacking mids.

Playing a 4-1-3-1-1 and having very good results with A.C. Milan

Forward arrows on the full backs, defensive midfielder and all three central midfielders, as well as the attacking midfielder. Doesn't hurt that the side is pretty decent (Donnarumma, Romagnoli, Zouma, Vangioni, Fabinho, Casemiro, Tolisso, Locatelli, Bonaventura, Lo Celso, Boletti)

    Mentality - Attacking
    Passing - Short
    Tackling - Hard
    Pressing - Yes
    Offside Trap - Yes

Hold Up Ball on everyone besides the back four seems to be working really well.

Why would you say this ? Lot of passes ? Possession ? Or just good results ?
