Waterford sign Kenny Browne from Cork City.
Garan Manley (FB) signs pro contract with Cork City.
Just come across this thread, serious work done. May I suggest raising the abilities of key players at Dundalk and Cork as the game can be very arcade in Ireland. Further to this, the league structure will change following this season with 3 relegated and 1 promoted, resulting in a ten-team Premier.
Nothing a lot the Update Team can do regarding the structure I'm afraid.
I'll be sorting the player attributes over next few weeks, long overdue. Harder to update lower end players though surprisingly. Lot's to sort out in terms of personnel (plenty of clubs have players from end of 2015 season)
Eddie Dsane - Longford > Sligo
Leeds United have secured the services of teenager Paudie O’Connor on a two-and-a-half year deal after the centre-half left Limerick at the end of the 2016 season

O'Connor & Morrissey ST's, not a bad partnership in the making. High workrate's.
A few strange things going on in the 1st Division
Athlone have taken on board a number of Portuguese staff and players after some international investment. Difficult to say who's good or otherwise. 18 year old Colm Coss has scored 2 from 2 from midfield. Latvian GK Labuts looks good. No idea will they maintain their good start but defensively they seem strong with Hernandez, Raftery, Sfrijan, Brookes & Jose Viegas all playing.
Cobh Ramblers have a good young squad. Donnellan MC looks a good prospect. Improved strength, good passing, high mental att's for his age. Dean Swords ST - Looks very good early on. Technique, pace & set pieces. Lots of teenagers getting games, especially in defence. McSweeney, Lowth, O'Riordan, Fleming look good prospects. Generally a very good youth set-up there.
Waterford have had big investment this Winter gone. Patrick McClean is a strong and a good quality defender and a complete scumbag (If there's any way of inputting that!) Kenny Browne is their defensive rock, he is very strong, great in the air, can play the ball out from the back, great positioning. Probably better than any top league DC. Puri is a good creative CM with good passing and workrate. McEvoy AMLRC Very good technical player, creative, good dribbler, crosser and good conditioning. McDaid ST is too also too good for this league, very good finisher and is good off the ball. Decent workrate & positioning. Couple of players in on loan of unknown quantity. O'Halloran, Daly, Smith, all teenagers getting their game so far in a good squad. Must have some potential. Waterford should boss this league.
Shelbourne don't look good. Prendergast is an excellent DC for this league though. Strong physically & mentally. Organizes the defence, good tackler and header of the ball. Aaron Ashe ST has good potential, off the ball is good and finishing is good. Could become a very good player.
Wexford FC (No longer called Wexford Youths) Plenty of decent young players with potential but no stand-outs. Losing Lee Grace to Galway was a blow but with no chance of promotion, will happily develop their young players.
UCD have excellent training facilities if you can input that. Very very very young team, too early to pick stand-outs. Midfielder Kavanagh (20) looks a good player, formerly of Rovers.
Not much going on elsewhere but Chris Mulhall is a good young player at Longford. They've a striker O'Sullivan who tore the 1st division apart when he was last down there so pace and finishing would account for that.
If possible, you should look to boost Dundalks finances after Europe last year. 7 million I think was what they earned, maybe 5+ million profit after bonuses. Paudie O'Connor left Limerick and signed for Leeds this week. Looks a very very good prospect. Overall quality of the league has improved for the 1st time in a long time, hopefully the beginning of an upward curve.
