Very proud of our performance against an appaling Man Utd side. We anticipated the B team, but a Mourinho team with desire was more than we could have hoped for. So yeah, we're happy!
Bit of a shock result that...
Not as much as Inter losing 2:0 at hope to an Israeli side!
I haven't seen any of the game.... was the goal offside like some have said? Not that it matters when you don't score....
Yeah, cross came from Jorgensen who started his run from an offside position
Thursday Night Cup draw
Athletic Bilbao v Apoel Nicosia
Legia Warsaw v Ajax
Anderlecht v Zenit St Petersburg
Astra Giurgiu v Genk
Manchester United v Saint-Etienne
Villarreal v Roma
Ludogorets v FC Copenhagen
Celta Vigo v Shakhtar Donetsk
Olympiakos v Osmanlispor
Gent v Tottenham Hotspur
Rostov v Sparta Prague
Krasnodar v Fenerbahce
Borussia Monchengladbach v Fiorentina
AZ Alkmaar v Lyon
Hapoel Beer Sheva v Besiktas
PAOK v Schalke
For now, I wish to see Rome win this... I would love to see Totti with an european club title for Rome
That'd be pretty cool for him
Legia v Ajax and Villareal v Roma look the standout ties
Spurs and Man U should go very far in this - great chance for them to get into CL if not via league
Nice to see ManU in Saint-Etienne. This will remember the good old days to the "Verts"
Surprising defeat for Spurs against Gent Seem to be on a bad run at the moment? Hopefully it carries on for Stoke as we play them away next
Easy enough win for Man Utd - Zlatan turned into a fanny for the night though, going down too easily for his free-kick and penalty.
Frank Acheampong smashed some stunners in for Anderlecht!
Utd's trophy this IMO
Pitch looked horrific at Rostov last night! Still would expect 11 pro's to pick up a result though. Saying that, a draw isn't bad for Man Utd to take back to Old Trafford with them, along with that away goal.
Job done. They should sort the job easily at home.
Would be surprised if they do not get to final
Bit of a naff performance from Man Utd last night. What's Jose banging on about fatigue and busy schedules for? That's part and parcel of managing a top team which he should be used to
Rojo eating a banana during the game though
M'gladbach unlucky to go out last night, Clattenburg gave Schalke a dodgy penalty. Shame, Dahoud's goal was a stunner.
Lyon looking good at the moment too.
Anderlecht v Manchester United
Celta Vigo v Genk
Ajax v Schalke
Lyon v Besiktas
Pretty sure Anderlecht will be too far away according to Mourinho.
Nailed on for Utd is this
Celtic and Lyon to go through.
Ajax v Schalke looks the best tie
United will have to improve if they're going to win it, been poor since the league cup final
Draw for Europa semi final:
Man Utd v Celta
Lyon v Ajax
Tough win for Man Utd in the end. Zlatan's injury looked bad! Just as well that Rashford was on form with a well taken turn for his goal. That bit of skill in the second half for Pogba's scissor shot was quality too!
Apart from Aspas on fire was that the best draw for Utd?
Lyon the best of the other 3 teams left?
I think Lyon must be firm favourites, did quite well in both games against Besiktas, in terms of coming from behind.
Ajax looked fairly decent too which surprised me.
Wouldn't play down Ajax. They are hungry for "some" sort of European success. Will be tough match up.
Zlatan out till rest of the year. Severely damaged knee.
Rojo out with injury too. Can be fun vs Celta. Hopefully Martial/Rashford can fill in for Zlatan, but defense will be shaky.
