Me? I have a dodgy leg, it was probably left hanging by a thread but I'll recover. You won't hear me moan about it though. Or tell you repeatedly how much blood I lost. Or even tell you that I could have lost the leg altogether. Oh no...I'll soldier on. Team player me.
Good point, blame the time sat in the stands with the fans eating some awesome pies.

You should have put # instead of * Dermo

I demand a 7 with the interception and pass that led to the goal!

Shot towards the goal and the keeper saved yet no shots

Another point to the tally even though the shots went everywhere

20 players had made an appearance at training for the Vipers ahead of the last game, a 1:1 draw at AFC Wimbledon. That hadn't impressed The Gaffer and this time around, only 19 had made an appearance which won't do anything to improve the mood of the Vipers manager.

Of those 19, one (trunky) is injured and another two should have been rested (Baz and AJ). Instead, Baz stays in the side due to trunky's injury and AJ is named on the bench once more as Fodster has now missed three games in a row.

The opponents are a team bottom of the league which explains The Gaffer's decision to once again field a fringe team. There is only one change to the side that drew in the last match which is a 5th start of the season in attacking midfield for pyromyst who replaces Redknapp69.

The fringe side once again made a slow start to the game, seeing Shrewsbury rattle the bar before taking the lead shortly afterwards. Thankfully, they had no trouble in conjuring up chances this time around as Janis89 restored the balance before putting the Vipers head with his 20th goal of the season. The game itself was a real battle for the players as no less than 4 players were booked. Shrewsbury came close to leveling the score a few times but the game was put beyond doubt after pyromyst made it 3:1. However, it was far from over as there were a few nervy moments for the Vipers as Shrewsbury pulled one back and pressed for a winner. The Vipers held on though and secured 3 points that puts the team 12 points clear at the top!

    Cup Tied: N/A.
    Injured: N/A.
    Doubts: Baz, trunky.

A two game break for the first team players should have given them plenty of time to prepare for a first ever visit of a Premiership side in Aston Villa. However, a mixture of injuries, suspensions and inability to rotate the squad mean that The Gaffer hasn't been able to approach this game as he would have liked.

The biggest example is the situation of the two left-backs at the club. An injury to trunky has meant that Baz has had to play every game of late despite not being full fit himself. trunky has now returned to training but currently stands at 87% while Baz is only 92% fit. While Baz has been solid at left-back, The Gaffer doesn't half wish to have players who are 100% fit for these sort of occasions.

Also missing will be Dermotron which is a huge boost for merkezkerem, particularly as Dermotron had recently played his way back up the pecking order after the past two appearances.

Have those who have stepped in as 'fringe' players used their game time to their advantage to break into the starting eleven? One man who certainly has is Goofy despite a failure to keep a clean sheet in either of his previous two starts.

    Probable Starting XI

    Goofy

    ebfatz - vinjwoods - merkezekrem - Baz

    evesham

    Jesus

    Shermaldo - Bevchenko - batman

    AJ

Bench: Erkifino, BobMem, Craig Forrest, Kaneman, pyromyst, Robaldo1, Janis89.
