It doesn't, but I hadn't (and still haven't) found the draw offset for Asia when I was making the new schedule.

The plan is to use the international fixture changes with this, which has all the international competitions already in their correct years.

I forgot that Tapani had already implemented the International tournament frequency & timing changes in his patch.

The offsets for the Asia draw date are...

    00912ED3 - PUSH 5 [Day = Saturday]
    ...
    00912EE7 - PUSH ECX [Year = 0]
    00912EE8 - PUSH EAX (VALUE=2) [Month = March]
    00912EE9 - PUSH 19 [Date = 25th]

But there is no way of changing the year held within these offsets. So you need to change the year by altering these offsets...

    00911C4B - SUB EDX,7D0 > 7CF
    00911C87 - SUB EAX,7D0 > 7CF
    00911CA2 - SUB ECX,7D0 > 7CF
    00911CB7 - MOV EAX,7D4 > 7D3

Now the draw will take place in March 2004/2016 depending which start year you have and you can rearranged the fixture over 2 years.

When altering the fixture offsets you will notice that the year offset for all fixtures = 1. The have fixtures played in the 2nd year (2005/2017) you will need to alter this value to = 2.

Very important: The final play-off round in Asia is between the winner of Round 3 and a European group runner-up. If the draw takes place before the European Group stage has finished the game will crash. So be very careful when editing fixtures.

I was looking at those earlier and was relieved to see that those fixtures were PUSH 1s and not PUSH EBXs. It would have made things difficult to code space-wise.

Hopefully the calendar can be fully synced now, I'll post up an updated one with Asia changed later today.

Re: World Cup Qualifying fixture dates

I would suggest the following schedule so that non-European qualification games are played at the same time as European qualification and don't clash with rescheduled international tournament. This limits the annoying situation where non-European players miss important League/European games whilst away on International duty. The following are based on the 2006 World Cup...

Why would you want to do that though?

Example. Start with Portugal in July 2001. First match is not until June 2002 at World Cup. You win the World Cup. Then because you are hosting Euro 2004 you don't have a match for nearly 2 years until Euro 2004. Then you qualify for the next World Cup automatically so you then have a year to wait for Confederations Cup and a year after that until the World Cup.

The new Asia adjusted version of my calendar:
    Spoiler!

All confederations are synced up now so there's only 6/6.5 international breaks, should be quite easy to work continental/domestic fixtures around. International competitions are roughly scheduled for their IRL dates, while their Third Place games are well protected.

I just coded African qualys using your lastest schedule saturn. I'm betatesting. So far it seems to work.

I'm hollidaying up to playoffs just to check everything goes well before posting the code.

On a side note, friendlies aren't scheduled in empty qualys... we'll how to find out where they are scheduled and fix them.

There were no playoffs (no draw in groups) so couldn't check playoffs. I'm gonna holliday a new game and force a draw if necessary just to make sure everything runs fine.

    Code for African Qualys:
    Spoiler!

Before going any further I'd like to find those friendlies and fix them.

I think I found the code for international friendlies schedule. I burnt my eyes looking for it in friendly.cpp so I guess it's time to go to bed. Going to look in detail tomorrow.

Friendlies are repeated a fixed number of times. It's 21 times for South America, some 23 for Africa, another 23 for Europe. In some cases it checks if any qualy is being played.

    005CA596 |. C600 05 MOV BYTE PTR DS:[EAX],5 ;day of week ????
    005CA599 |. 8850 01 MOV BYTE PTR DS:[EAX+1],DL ;day ????
    005CA59C |. C640 02 09 MOV BYTE PTR DS:[EAX+2],9 ;month ????
    005CA5A0 |. C640 0B 00 MOV BYTE PTR DS:[EAX+B],0 ;year between world cups ????
    005CA5A4 |. 8948 0C MOV DWORD PTR DS:[EAX+C],ECX
    005CA5A7 |. 8978 10 MOV DWORD PTR DS:[EAX+10],EDI
    005CA5AA |. 8B86 EC340000 MOV EAX,DWORD PTR DS:[ESI+34EC]
    005CA5B0 |. 8B0D 08FA9C00 MOV ECX,DWORD PTR DS:[9CFA08]

If my assumptions are correct... then Africa would play friendlies after 2002 WC the following way:

    sat 9 nov 2002
    wed 18 nov 2002
    sun 15 dec 2002
    sun 12 jan 2003
    sun 24 feb 2003
    wed 24 mar 2003
    wed 28 apr 2003
    wed 9 jun 2003
    sun 24 jul 2003
    wed 18 aug 2003
sat 9 oct 2003 (if teams don't play qualys)
sat 1 jun 2004 (if teams don't play qualys)
sat 15 jun 2004 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 1 oct 2004 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 10 nov 2004 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 12 jan 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 24 feb 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sat 5 apr 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 27 apr 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sat 7 jun 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 24 jul 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 17 aug 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)
sun 28 sep 2005 (if teams don't play qualys)

And that's it. If I don't remember wrong, most dates are coincident to my last holiday game after coding african qualys. There aren't any friendlies after qualys up to 2006 WC. I think we may be able to fix schedule to get friendlies in 2006,2010,2014 etc march and april international dates?

Nevertheless, for those who are willing to disable international friendlies... Scheduling function is called in last line right below. You might find your kung-fu right there:

I hollidayed up to 2008. I watched over Cameroon friendlies.

    Spoiler!

All three sep, oct and nov scheduled friendlies since start of game worked well. There's also a weird friendly in oct 20th that I can't find in code. It isn't supposed to exist.

    Spoiler!

Double dates in mar, sep and nov aren't schedule, just a game for sunday. Week day doesn't seem to be an issue since apr game is on wed as coded.
In any case, I was able to schedule friendlies prior to WC adding some realism.

    Spoiler!

Again there seems to be an issue with double dates. No games scheduled for wed after sun games.

    Spoiler!

Double dates keep unplayed. I moved qualys 1st round to wed just to see if I got a game scheduled for sep 5th and voila: if qualys aren't played then a friendly pops up. Comoros is a nation that for some reason doesn't play qualys and gets friendlies instead. Still NO DOUBLE DATES WORK IN FRIENDLY MATCHES.

    Spoiler!

Cameroon plays qualys and gets nov scheduled friendly. But somehow, same as in 2001, they got another game scheduled for oct 22nd that shouldn't exist.

    Spoiler!

As in 2002, they play WC and get all friendlies without double dates.

I'm not entirely sure what's causing this but I guess I have a clue.

    005CA53D |. 8D8424 0C01000>LEA EAX,DWORD PTR SS:[ESP+10C] ;EAX is filled by ESP+10C

    then after 1st friendly...

    005CA5AB |. 8B86 EC340000 MOV EAX,DWORD PTR DS:[ESI+34EC] ;EAX is ESI+34EC

after getting that value now it's incremented by 0x14 (20)

Then every after friendly it gets the value of ESI+34EC and is incremented by another 0x14 (40, 60, 80 and so on).

Does someone have a clue what ESP+10C, ESI+34EC and increments of 20 mean?

According to olly EAX is 0x01562928 at start of loop.
ECX is a pointer to 9CFA08 (Africa) so EAX+C is nation.Something.
EDI is 0XFFFFFFFF so EAX+10 is assigned 0XFFFFFFFF.
Last time EAX is incremented for Africa it's value is 0x01562AF4.

    0x01562928 - 0x01562AF4 = 1CC (460).

    460 / 20 = 23 friendlies.

I made some tests and if I schedule a game for Tue Aug 30th it's schedule right before Sun Sep 4th. But if it's Wed Aug 31st then it won't. Same happens for Sep 8th. I can schedule from Sep 9th on.

So our magical number is 4. I'm gonna look in friendly code for a magical variable that might be changed to 2.

Since I couldn't workaround the limitation of 5 days between international friendlies I just re-fixed friendlies the following way:

    sat 9 nov 2002 > sun 22 jul 2002
    wed 18 nov 2002 > sun 2 sep 2002
    sun 15 dec 2002 > sun 7 oct 2002
    sun 12 jan 2003 > sun 11 nov 2002
    sun 24 feb 2003 > sun 24 mar 2003
    wed 24 mar 2003 > wed 21 apr 2003
    wed 28 apr 2003 > wed 5 jun 2003
    wed 9 jun 2003 > sun 22 jul 2003
    sun 24 jul 2003 > sun 2 sep 2003
    wed 18 aug 2003 > sun 7 oct 2003
    sat 9 oct 2003 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 11 nov 2003
    sat 1 jun 2004 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 24 mar 2004
    sat 15 jun 2004 (if teams don't play qualys) > wed 21 apr 2004
    sun 1 oct 2004 (if teams don't play qualys) > wed 5 jun 2004
    sun 10 nov 2004 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 22 jul 2004
    sun 12 jan 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 7 oct 2004
    sun 24 feb 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 11 nov 2004
    sat 5 apr 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 24 mar 2005
    sun 27 apr 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > wed 24 apr 2005
    sat 7 jun 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 2 sep 2005
    sun 24 jul 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 7 oct 2005
    sun 17 aug 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 11 nov 2005
    sun 28 sep 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > sun 24 mar 2006
    sat 20 oct 2005 (if teams don't play qualys) > wed 24 apr 2006

I tried to fix the most for non-qualy dates so the most of them are actually played.

I'm gonna code African Nations and post the definitive African patch. Next I'm gonna work on Asia. Golly, saturn if you like, you can go on with CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC or UEFA. Just remember double dates won't work for friendlies.

All of Africa tweaked. African Nations may still need some work, I'd appreciate some volunteers to betatest that fixture. It's quite a job to re-schedule games.

    Spoiler!

    EDIT: African Nations reworked

Some great work there Fiestita. Strange how the Friendly dates are coded like the transfer window dates rather than regular fixtures.

Sorry I can't help much at the moment coding wise, but I'll try testing out your African changes this week.
