Credit goes to Tapani for all the Iodine-tactic-variations.

My newest creation and probably my best work to date, Attacking_Iodine:

    https://www.sendspace.com/file/hm1mw6

3 strikers to provide maximum offensive firepower while maintaining a watertight defense.

I am really proud of this one.

As always credit goes to Tapani for providing the framework in form of his magnificent 4-1-4-1_Iodine.

Please try for yourself and give some feedback

Really makes it easier if you upload a screenshot of the tactic along with posting a link to download it. Personally I look for certain formations to fit the type of players I want to use.

Attacking_Iodine is a very fun tactic to play attack very good and even between the three forwards but the defense can be leaky sometimes but to be fair i only played it for 4 seasons (3 in Holland 1 in Belgium) maybe with better defenders it can be watertight.
Thanks for all your work on new tactics (Centralized_Iodine is my new personal favorite)

How does it do though against stronger AI tactics, like the tactic pack I made, I wonder?

    Feel free to test it.

I did 1 season with de Graafschaap, newest update, finished 3rd. So not too bad I guess. Scored a lot less and conceded a lot more though.

I like your tactic-pack, but it creates somewhat unrealistic scorelines.

Maybe a less potent pack would be a better fit to make for a more realistic, yet more challenging experience

I second what Piotr is saying.. I am loving the interchanges between my strikers. If defence could be tightened up a bit would be great

Will see what I can do

I had quite a lot of seasons with <20 conceded so that comes as a bit of a surprise tbh.

Will wait for Jesus to test it before making any adjustments.

    Thanks for the feedback guys

Nurishi i really want a tactic from you without iodine influence or elements.Probably you have understand how match engine works (i have not really ,neither how iodine works also.i find it complicated to be honest) so if you have the time pls do something else with differenet aproach ,if you like

You could say Felix was the lazy one. Takes 20 seconds to download a tactic and preview in game

Antagonist doesn't have any Iodine-elements, but I will likely come out with something new in the near future

About understanding how the match-engine works, I think I have some ideas by now about what works and what not, but most of it is still trial and error tbh.

Antagonist has a lot of iodine elements i noticed(f.e zig-zag in central dark green line, left top and right wob defence line up, 7-8-9 boxes in wob with same/lightly altered defence etc).
Please share with us those ideas of yours it will be helpfull
Doesnt mean i dont like your tactics i am clear in that , just i think that you have found the weak spot in cm engine thats all and i would be happy if you could share your notices on that.Keep up

Did he? I thought people knew centralised formations worked already. They are OP on this match engine and it doesn't relly matter if tac is iodine based or not. Just look at my older tacs in ATL Jesus tested. They did even better than I expected them to .

4141_iodine just showed other thing. You can make as successful tactic which looks normal on Overview screen, has 4 defenders and 4 midfielders. All of the tacs Nurishi posted are 99% centralised. One exception was Airlines.

You're overrating his achievements. If he does something similar with 442, 433, 4231 or any other modern day tactic, then I will talk about someone who dethronised Tapani. For now, anyone is far off it (yes, scemoka 3331 is great, but it's also based on iodine - so nothing new discovered - waiting for someone to not base his idea on Tapani and beats his avg over 20000 tests ) .

I know the matter about centralized formations info0.I surely dont overrate his achivements because they are not original 100% though he achieved better results than tapani's iodine and that means he did something showing understanding of the iodine based tacs .The reason i comment in this is that he may have located the weaker spots of the AI in an area that i / we dont.Thats why i asked him to share with us what he had noticed so far about the ME.Of course i am waiting(as i asked him) to try and make something not based on iodine , clearly wanting to watch which areas and why he uses in wib/wob.To be honest i 'd be very happy if you had the time and explain yourself things about your tacs .As i have clearly state in this forum i am fond of your tactics and i have study them first when i started to play cm.Besides i like them more than iodine cause they score more playing yourself and i enjoy that.In conclusion, i think only Tapani is the specialist in here because he made tacs using scientific and not football terms and as i have noticed over the years the game is not one in a million as FM, as you have said, and i personally believe its based on scripts(meanting that it gives you wins or defeats by achieving or not some terms that it sets within the game engine). Thanks for your reply, have a nice week [Forgot to say that i like CamF's tacs too.I find them simple and right in the eye]

All I can say is I swear I created Antagonist from scratch without ever looking at Iodine once, so if there are any similarities it really is by accident.

I guess some parts are doomed to look very similar bc after all there is not that much room to alocate the players in a reasonable matter anyway.

I don't think there is one weak spot in the engine to exploit, it looks more like a variety of different things that work that can be aligned in a reasonable way if that makes any sense.

If you find the time, make a new tactic-thread my friend to talk or show pics and explain a few things about it meaning why did A and not B etc. This would be nice.Be well

Well I feel considering how many people have tried to beat Iodine and failed it actually is a great achievment, and I'm very proud of it tbh.

You are welcome to create a centralized tactic that beats Centralized_Iodine if that is such an easy task, I'd love to see that. When I look at the ATL I see that your centralized tactics are quite far off resultwise, Antagonist was the first tactic I ever created and even that beat all of your tactics...

Don't want to pick a fight with you or anything, actually I respect you a lot and I really like your tactics and admire your knowledge of the game, but I really think your judgement is a bit harsh and demoralizing.

I'm with you that it isn't justifiable to say I dethroned Tapani (and I never said that and wouldn't), bc without his template I surely wouldn't have come this far, and that creating the original is a whole different story, but considering my limited ressources and technical knowledge I think creating a tactic that not only beats the original, but does so by a considerable margin, actually is a great achievement.

There are thousands of tactics floating around (ca. 75% of them Iodine-based), and you want to tell me creating the best of them all (per points avg) doesn't mean anything?

I respect your opinion, but I don't agree with you here.

I like the idea of a tactic-thread that discusses different variations and possibilities for each of the wibwob-screens. But please lose your believe that I somehow managed to solve the game and totally understand how the engine works, that couldn't be more far off.

Through mostly trial and error and a bit of studying of successful tactics I managed to find some things that seem to work under certain conditions, and that really is all that there is to it.

People like info0 or CamF certainly are significantly more competent when it comes to how the engine really works and why certain things do well while others don't.

I consider myself a newbie when it comes to tactic-creation, those guys have years of experience.

Nurishi pls show some respect on info0 man.All of us grew with his tacs and learned from them.Personally started making my own tacs only studying info0's and Camf's tacs.Never had tapani tacs in my mind as i learned about them, strangely ,after those two.Of course its a great deal the achievement with your tacs ,besides tapani himself had said that he never managed to make iodine better in his last 100.000 attempts. So good for you to prove him wrong.Nevertheless i still believe that info0 and 2-3 more have succeeded things here ,with less influence from iodine tacs and that must be paid with respect ,if nothing else. And to share something with you that you might not know....Info0's tacs are the best for cm 00 01 that i am playing more ,than cm 01 02 and believe me that game is far more difficult than cm 01-02.Finally the reason that this forum exists is not to agrue but to share things with each other so we can all improve dont you think?Ans somethhing else..If you happen to see my tacs they have nothing similar to that iodine thing i dare you notice that.Despite that, they all are very nice the least and only have elements from my fantasy or way of thinking. So dont challenge info0 that way because if nothing else he is original from my point of view.Again congratulations about the evolution you brought to Tapani's Iodine but i really want you to make an original good tactic just because i want to study it and improve my tacs and ways. And thats the main reason i insisted before to find time and explain why you did A or why you didnt B.You could help many people this way because a lot including me here find this game sometimes irritating and annoying in some instances and results. Thanks again man
