Brilliant stuff - you got that little bit of luck when you needed it most!
You lucky so and so!
That was not the script. From the line ups I expected you to be battering them and for Bayern to be attacking on the break. Great win and a very tense game. I aways enjoy backs against the wall victories the most.
I guess this is the end of the adventure with Saints. It doesn't sound as if you have the desire to rebuild the squad again and retain the CL/regain the league. Where to next for Samsami ?

Backs to the wall indeed.
And agreed, it sounds like you have reached the end of the road at Southampton.
Where next for Sungo?
great job! So the fans probably sung Sungo's name. Curious what's story is next or will you continue to hunt the trible?
Saints players celebrate Champions League glory
If one thing has become perfectly clear this year, it is the fact that defence wins titles! Without Fraser Forster we would not have been were where are today and like so often this season, our central defenders were superb in the Champions League Final!
In recent years we have found out what it feels like to be runners up, until we finally won the Premier League last season. But the Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens is definitely the icing on the cake!
Now this may not have been our best year domestically, but that no longer matters. Every disappointment has been forgotten! Every mistake has been forgiven!
Even the Board's decision to spend millions on expanding St.Mary's every summer so that it has no less than 55,000 covered seats now, a decision which has caused so much frustration in the past, can only bring smiles to our faces now! This is not the time for frowns!
There is a time for everything,
- and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
- a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
- a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
- a time to mourn and a time to dance!
And, might I add:
There is a time to manage a football team,
- and a time to take a sabbatical to write one's autobiography.

Crazy that the average attendances never went up despite the stadium expansion and the success on the pitch!
You rode your luck there but I think you earnt it, congrats! I'm sure the final day heartache in the league is a distant memory already.
I take it this is the end, then? If so, it's been a pleasure to read and I'd like to thank you for keeping us entertained. Hopefully the two threads can be merged and placed into the HOF. This definitely deserves to be there IMO.
A little late to the party but just done a binge read all the way through both parts of the story. Gripping stuff as usual and congratulations on a fantastic ending
