First round of the Cup and Vancouver rest their starting XI for the match against unmanaged Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle

A hat trick from 17 year-old Argentine striker Maximiliano Romero and a goal from captain-for-the-day, 35 year-old Colombian defender Jámison Olave saw the Whitecaps advance to round 2 with an easy 4-0 victory.

    Ludogorets Razgrad 0 - 0 FC Midtjylland
    Ludogorets win 5-4 on penalties

2nd string team for me as the first team weren't back to full fitness yet after Sunday. Pretty dull match all round.

Not sure if I want to keep progressing in this because of the squad limit, but it was a profitable game, back in the black now after what i'm guessing was a full house at the Ludogorets Arena.

    (3,800)

Maybe if that cash keeps rolling in I could fill out the squad, still only at 21 players, I definitely need another RB, gonna try and hoke one out now.

Enyimba outclassed Olympiacos and thrashed them 5 - 0 in their CM 01/02 World Soccer Manager Cup Round 1 fixture.
Fasindo was impressive and scored a hat-trick, later being voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Diouf was also on the scoresheet for his side.

My fifth choice striker is a legend bagging a hat trick!!

Today we went up against Man City managed by Andy Sharman

All i can say is we totally dominated the match. Looks like my boys have important matches at 20,

Elhamed (1), Mackay (20), as we take early control. Adjei Boateng (36) pulled one back for City. Acosta (41). Sobrino (53,66) then Lafata (83) completed the rout.

61% possession, 5 goals and starting to gain Money! that will do nicely for the team going forward BUZZING

FC Kallon lost to FC Koper 4 - 2 on penalties after a 1 - 1 draw in their CM 01/02 World Soccer Manager Cup Round 1 fixture.
Faupala was on the scoresheet for his side.

Absolutely gutted as well. We took on a Div.3 side, FC Koper, managed by petec68. After a quiet first half in which the dirty Kopers got booked twice, David Faupala gave us a deserved lead after the break before one of the booked Koper players were sent off for an elbow. We should have taken advantage of that but after changes made by the manager, Koper got themselves back into it with a late equaliser to force the game to penalties. Faupala and Celina both missed their spot-kicks and we are out!

As a positive, we tried a different formation and it looked promising so hopefully we will compete much better with first team players back in the frame on Thursday.

Township Rollers cruised against an unmanaged (COM) Tigres UANL to a 3-0 victory. A second string team proved they are no push overs and have made life hard for the manager as team selection gets tricky.

Kovacic the young wonderkid CAM, Gavanon the veteran CDM and Mineiro who's performance's earlier in the season had been subpar at DR - all bagged goals. Unfortunately Kovacic suffered a 2/3week injury and second striker Helder Positga will also miss a week due to injuries picked up in the game. I blame this on the lack of a pre-season - but alas, c'est la vie.

The 'Rollers now look onto the second round of the CM 01/02 CUP vs a familiar face of same league, Division 5, Mladost Podgorica - the luck of the draws have been kind to the 'Rollers as we will play for the second time in the CUP at home infront of the Botswana faithful.

At my time here in Botswana I have learned a little Setswana, the second language after English here. Masego ke ao I say to my team. Or in English - Good Luck.

Township Rollers is such a cool team name.

Ludogorets Razgrad doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

I think I'll shorten it to "the Ludos"

Baghdad FC beat Boca Juniors 5 - 3 in a penalty shootout after a 0 - 0 draw in their CM 01/02 World Soccer Manager Cup Round 2 fixture.
Drągowski had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

Cracking result although lost our main striker Sierra for 3 weeks as he broke his arm!
