#RBU stands for Right Back Union consisting of our glorious captain ebfatz, vice president Craig Forrest and yours truly. Unlike the #LBU (which you would think means Left Back Union, but actually stands for LesBian Union) the #RBU prefers #Pie over #Cake any day. That's why we want you to be our official supplier!

The Centre Back (Right) Union (CB(R)U) is now offering a healthy alternative to cake or pies, namely the aforementioned Spam. Fully endorsed by HRH The Queen who uses Spam as an example of how you pronounce "Maam", as opposed to 'as in palm'.

We, the #LBU, are the original, and best, union. All the others are inferior copies. Look at us as Pink Floyd and the impostors as The Australian version. Loud, full of wind and uncouth.

The 2:1 scoreline at Bolton had been unfortunate for the Vipers as they suffered only their 5th defeat in 22 league games so far this season. The team needed to bounce back quickly though as they were off to Vale Park for a second time this season just four days after playing at Bolton.

Surprisingly, there are no fitness concerns whatsoever from those starting the previous game so changes have only been made based on their performance. Had merkezekrem made an appearance, Dermotron would have lost his place but instead he'll remain to captain the side but the same cannot be said of Craig Forrest, drkshadow1 and AJ for they are replaced by GFRay86, London35 and Janis89, the latter finally putting in an appearance again with perfect timing to take over the lone strker role. AJ and Craig Forrest make it on the bench with ebfatz remaining injured whilst drkshadow1 is forced to sit this one out along with pyromyst, samsami and Felix.

The omens will be in Port Vale's favour with the two teams having met for the first time early last month where Port Vale won 4:1 to knock the Vipers straight out of the FA Cup in the 1st Round. The game had actually been fairly even but the hosts had taken their chances on the day with Anton Forrester scoring a hat-trick so clearly he'll be one to keep a close eye on. Thankfully he won't be participating as he's currently out for 3 months with a torn groin muscle!

Well, Forrester may not be featuring but the home side were ahead after just 4 minutes when Dermotron managed to get a block in on Pugh but the ball fell to Walker who ran at BobMem. He made a good sliding challenge on Walker but Mbamba picked it up and put in a low cross to the far post where Thomas was able to tap it into the net beyond Kowalinho.

The Vipers were then indebted to a Bevchenko clearing header and a deflection from GFRay86 that stopped Port Vale from going two goals clear.

The 11th minute saw the Vipers get their first attempt on goal with a ZanSnake curler being met by Janis89 who jumped above Bikey but saw his header turned behind by Mehmet. Bevchenko took the resulting corner, aiming for the far post where ZanSnake outmuscled Thomas to power a header straight into the net to equalise!

Kowalinho was then called into action twice to keep the game level, first holding on to a volley from Mbamba before doing the same with a Walker header. Bikey was then booked for a foul on evesham. Janis89 took the free-kick but hit the wall before evesham soon found himself in space to shot but Mehmet tipped it away. Pugh got to the ball just before Redknapp69 was able to pounce on the rebound. His clearance was poor as Janis89 collected it but put the ball wide.

Yet again, Redknapp69 was not to be stopped as he continued his rich vein of form this season with a run to bypass Mbamba, Pugh and Bikey before calmly converting the ball for his 20th goal of the season in only his 24th start! No wonder colml has been kicking his heels on the bench this season!

After the break, Janis89's frustrations in front of the net continued as a volley went harmlessly over the bar before sending wide a low drive.

Port Vale made a change in the 54th minute as Tavares was replaced by Foley and shortly afterwards, The Vipers were denied a penalty once more as Redknapp69 was fouled in the box, going past Mehmet. A second change followed for the Valiants who replaced Taylor with Yates.

Two more chances for Janis89 followed, a speculative effort saved well by Mehmet and a long range shot which went over the bar. ZanSnake tried his luck too with a fierce shot but put it high and wide.

Janis89 got his timing wrong with another shot, seeing a bent effort go wide and The Gaffer soon made a double change for the last 12-13 minutes as BobMem and evesham were replaced by PedroM and gazzas1uk.

A header from ZanSnake's cross for Janis89 was saved and with 3 minutes left, Janis89 finally got his goal at the 8th time of asking. Bevchenko heading a long ball on from Mehmet which Redknapp69 controlled before hitting it ahead of Janis89 who managed to get a head on to it to make it 3:1.

Port Vale rolled the dice once more as Mbamba was replaced by Kiko but they ran out of time to stop the Vipers who gained revenge for their FA Cup exit with the three points. Unfortunately, Sheffield United won to and remain 6 points clear with Charlton doing likewise to stay a point behind.
