Two more signings
We obviously wanted to buy Pedro Chirivella, but it turned out that Liverpool regard him as an important player for the future. They absolutely refuse to sell Chirivella, but on Friday 20th July we managed to sign the talented midfielder on a season-long loan, just like last year!
And a week later, on Friday 27th July we signed Zeqiri again as well, also on a season-long loan. A good back-up striker, although only really needed if we would succeed in selling Lens.
We still have some £3M as Transfer Funds available and there's another full month to try and find any additional players that might be available and interested.
Get Duelund. Break the bank if you have to, but he will get goals
Squad is taking shape and overall looks to be a step up from last year. Is Europe the target ?

Good option getting those 2 back on loan
Not much made from the "out's" - especially Klavan and Wisdom - who and how many in defence now?
Oof, that's some loss on Wisdom and Klavan. Did you try and get higher prices?
Definitely going to need to invest in the defence now.

Decent and cheap ones in the dutch leagues. Van Beek, Kongolo, Karsdorp, Veltman, Riedewald, Tete, Van Drongelen and many more.
Another big catch up from me and it looks as though this has been a tough pre season finding improvements.
Clasie again. He'll do well though.
Need another player or two but appreciate funds at a premium. No experienced internationals on the freebies list?
Two successful friendlies
On Wednesday 1st August we played Ajax Amsterdam in front of a crowd of 19,470. We wanted some tough opposition and it was good to play a renowned European team.
Even though this was only a friendly, when Krul clipped the feet of Clasie in the area we claimed a penalty, but the referee was very lenient.
We seemed more ready for the new season than Ajax, though, and it was our captain, Ben Marshall who took the ball past Te Wierik and past Willems and hit a fierce shot and scored! And in the second half Flanagan(!) took the ball on the bounce and shot to double our lead.
A very good game for us. Clasie played very well. Fekir played decently as well, but he clearly needs to get used to his new teammates - and they need time to get used to him.
And four days later, on Sunday 5th August we played Feyenoord Rotterdam in front of a crowd of 19,496. The game ended in 2-0 just like our first pre-season friendly but it was clear that we are making progress already.
In the first half Fekir scored, but it was ruled out by the linesman's flag because Flanagan had strayed offside.
After an hour or so Clasie hit the ball towards Grimes in the area and Grimes drove the ball in low and scored!
However, with just three minutes remaining Grimes was sent off after he pushed Vura away. A remarkable decision by the referee! However, that did not stop Clasie from scoring a free-kick to double the score!
Clasie, with his assist and his goal, was named Man-of-the-Match.
Two good results, but our first Premier League match of the season will be the real test as we play Newcastle at St.James' Park on Sunday 18th August 2018.
