Our Story So Far (50 season review)

As some of you will already know, myself, London35 and Pepe are quite
the network geeks when it comes to CM. Personally, I love it and think
it gives that edge of taking the game to the next level. Our current
record breaking network game really tells the story for itself in the
season number, but it didn't start there -

Roughly in Jan 2013, the 3 of us started a game in the EPL and we managed
12 seasons, before disaster struck, and the save corrupted. We lost all
what we done, and in fairness, had that not have happened, I possibly
wouldn't be writing this now. So it was lesson learned and now I do 3-4
different saves (back ups), and every so often, create a new one just to
    refresh.

December 2013, we all agreed to start a new game, although still angry
at the previous loss, so we needed something different. We opt for the low
league challenge. Pepe takes on Mansfield, London35 takes on Wycombe and
I myself take the Scunthorpe job. Here we are 3 and half years later and
50 seasons later, and the game still going strong, never getting boring (IMO)
and we all battling on all fronts.

We used the October 2013 Update, and the 2.19 Tapni Patch (something we've never
changed from) and starting year was 2014.

I recall season 1 like it was yesterday, Wycombe had a shocking start, whilst
Mansfield were ok, and my Scunny started well, which lead to promotion at the
first time of asking, whilst both my rivals had to settle for another season
in Division 3. As the next few seasons went with us all gaining promotion,
I was first into the top flight.

Now as I claimed the Premiership title at the first attempt, something happened
in that we had agreed all rules (no wibwobs etc.) except for one, "could we
apply for jobs" never the less, Pepe lead Mansfield to the top flight and in his first
season, left to join the mighty Southampton, where he still remains to this day.
As for London, who at this time felt he was playing catch up, lead his Wycombe
to the top flight, and had a cracking season there to finish in the top 4, to
then make the decision to move to Man Utd, where he still remains. For me, having
had possibly the better start, and seeing my rivals move, gave me the incentive to
not move and remain at Scunny, and here we are as season 51 approaches, I'm still
    here preparing for another season

International jobs is a strange one, London has possibly been the most loyal
guy in the world with England as he's enjoying his 2nd spell, as I am with
Brazil and Pepe doing a great job at present with Germany, but both myself
and Pepe have been around the block, Belgium, Holland, Cameroon and more have
    had the pleasure

As far as bank roles are concerned - they're no issue, the accounts show for me
at lease, my bank has looped round, and I've always 337 Million to spend, and
am pretty sure will be the same for the other guys, so selling players for 100 Million
is very very common, but just no need to, as replacing such quality players is
the toughest job in the world.

Locating regens and other little gems, this is something you can't say "Yes" until
the deal is done and dusted, so many times, a deal gets cancelled which therefore
alerts the other 2 managers, and its a lot of fun, locating Messi regen or anyone
we can work out who they are. I know I speak for us all when we take full advantage
when we don't have a game, and the others do, that we scout specifically, all
around the world, and add many many players to our shortlist. We wait several
seasons to land our man. London does very well in locating players which he
grooms (not sure if I should word it like that) before they make the grade in
the senior team. Pepe tends to always pull a 16 year old gem from a team that
I cant pronounce let alone spell, and for me, I ensure as many youngsters
get out on loan, as I can.

Something strange that has happened as seasons have gone by, we see different
reasons for players being unhappy, etc.. and we see stuff never seen before.
AI teams are switching to wibwob tactics, sometimes all 11 players, which in
fairness is making the game better, but its a strange one, given the fact,
I've no imported AI Tactics so not sure where or how they get theses, but never
the less, makes it fun, although this seems to have died down in the last season
    of play

So lets take a look at the hall of fame for the essential competitions (below):

A quick few notes on them: The League Cup, Southampton have won 12 of the last
20, and London hasn't wont this in 20 seasons. Back in the year 2041 my Scunny
were a shock exit to the Champs League 1st Phase, but on the flip to that,
I'm the only person to win the Uefa Cup (not sure if that's a good thing)
Southampton were the fist team from the 3 of us to win the Champs League

    Premiership Titles

    Scunthorpe 17
    Man Utd 15
    Southampton 15

    League Cups

    Southampton 22
    Scunthorpe 14
    Man Utd 8

    FA Cups

    Southampton 16
    Man Utd 14
    Scunthorpe 13

    Champs League

    Southampton 20
    Man Utd 13
    Scunthorpe 11

So here's to another 50 seasons

No, I don't think so. I think it is impossible

    Frankly, it's puzzling.

I didn't think that was the case, It's a real strange one, unless strange happenings is the norm after long network games

During season 48/49, Everton seem to wibwob every match, making them an early force, as they took points off the 3 of us, but then as they had few games without, other teams started doing it. Having said that, season 50 hasn't seen as much, Oxford I think were one of the only ones

I've seen this in a save I'm c. 100 seasons into (don't judge!) - the AI takes the default tactics and makes small alterations from game to game - a forward arrow here, a wibwobbed player there etc. Not sure how or why, but it definitely happens.

That is amazing! Although it may not necessarily really make the teams stronger, of course. Although OffSide Trap said that Everton in their save game did become much stronger.
