Hello, I have a questions about regen players. I would like to start career with one of team from San Marino and also take San Marino national team. Main question is... is it possible to improve this country (I mean during game, not using editor)?
Reputation of league will be changed season by season if teams from this country will be better and better?
Does training facilities has influence for quality of regen players in San Marino? If I will upgrade training facilities in future regen players will be better than before I mean will have better PA?
Regens will generate only when old players will retire or maybe does not matter how much players will retire and always it is the same value of regens players?

All answers could make decision to start playing in San Marino but if in reality I will not have any influence to improve this country, it will means that it is better go for a walk.

Thank you in advance

Reputation of the league will not get higher if you do well. The team's reputation will grow and the UEFA coŽfficent as well if you get far in Europe, but the league's reputation is set as far as I know.

Regens will always inherit the PA of the player that retired and PA is a set value that can't be increased by training or anything else. So regens won't get a higher PA than the players that retired. Better training facilities will increase development so players will reach their PA faster.

Probably your answer killed my dreams about career in San Marino. It means that it is impossible to improve San Marino. Do you know that in the newest version of Football Manager (2017, 18, 19) is the same situation where regen has the same PA as retired player or this issue was fixed?

There is a forum member who did a story on making San Marino the greatest nation ever. Maybe it will give you some tips how to do it.

Here's the thread: https://champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3240.

So there is no way, to be succesful as nation ? If i have bad PA players as san marino or like macedonia, in the future there will be no random high PA yougnsters just the same regens again and again?

Actually, ive read in the forums that there is some randomness in the nationalities of regens in original game, specially from smaller nations, they seem to produce some random regens with high PAs, but it seems to be purelly random and not based on nation successful.

And in tapani patch, which is included in saturn patch as well, there is a change to make those regens with big PA who change nation to pick a nation weighted and not random:

The original game has many (too many) regens from very strange countries - in patch 2.21 the code that picked a nation uniformly at random is now weighted, and there should be less regens from very small countries.

But he didnt explain what his criteria for considering a nation 'small'. Maybe if you win some championship with San Marino it wont be considered small anymore and will get more of those regens of big PA? I guess this was never tested. Anyway even if thats true i guess it would take ages for good regens to appear in san marino, but thats something that could be adjusted via patches, not sure if easy or not.

One more thing, if you are going to manage weak country i suggest u run this tool https://champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11661 , untick everything (maybe choose game speed and inflation) and tick "Force load all players", then click Apply, then start a new game and you will have x5 more players to choose from in your weak country. And you can tick "Find all players" too so that the player and staff search screen will show all players from your country instead of just the good reputation ones. Those two ticks are compatible with any game version and any patches as far as i know.

As stated there is almost no way to improve a country. Like the San Marinese story, your best hope would be convert foreign players to the target nationality. Something like :
- Taking control over a small nation and 15 clubs playing here. You can do this with the lattest patches (if only you can find 15 of these !).
- Hoping to succeed in bringing new and promising players to your sides.
- Hoping the AI will make them play (as you cannot control who is on the pitch since there won't be a simulated league in your country) so they won't become unhappy and willing to go away.
- Hoping you can play some "real" matches (not friendlies, something like an international club competition) to gain some cash and reputation so you could obtain some better players (and as you won't be able to control which team will qualify for those competitions since there is no real league, this is why you'll need to control a maximum of clubs to ensure this will happen).
- Hoping to keep all of this people long enough for them to get your second nationality (this process can take 5-10 years !).

And congratulations, you have a slightly better player to align in your national team !

It's a lot of hopes thought but it's not impossible. And you could add another hope : that your naturalised players will keep your country nationality when they'll regen. More a dream than a hope !

Well, realizing I'm actually farming binationals in my 16 Northern Irish clubs save, I started tracking them with GK editor. My list is 50+ at the moment.

So far, only 3 players have retired, and their regens had nothing special to speak about. But with number 4, Douglas Fiuka, I was hoping something new. Because Douglas, being brazilian born, reached the NI national team !

So his first nationality switched from brazilian to NI...

... and when he retired from active ball kicking...

... his regen came back in Middlesbrough...

... as a pure NI player.

OK, it's only one player, so its hard to take this as a rule. Could be a random regen nationality roll. But as my best candidate, he didn't disappoint me :)
