It's shocking frankly. Hate to say it but it could have been much worse with bigger devices.

If you are in ANY way squeamish or even if you aren't, don't click on number 8 in Fod's first link there.
Horrible pic. Feel for the guy and everyone involved.
You go out to enjoy a community event, to watch people raising money for others who are sick etc and that happens to you.

My thoughts are with the friends and families of all involved. Very sad and I hope whoever did it is found and severely punished. :(
Pictures are very explicit, I wouldn't recommend looking at them, as ebfatz said

The US love a good conspiracy though...

Sniffer dogs were present before the bombs went off.... that shud be good practice, not a reason for a conspiracy..

Always amazing how it's only one or two 'news' outlets hear about these things and no-one else.

3 dead and 152 injured, could have been so many more. Horrible to think of the damage something like this at a football match or concert might cause.

16-04-13, 04:30 PM
The most saddening part of it, in those 3 people killed, was one 8 year old boy who waited for his father at the finish line :(.

16-04-13, 04:58 PM
The man on the roof is the new sub line to the story.
What's he doing there?
Left hand side on the roof of the tall brown building.
(Picture spoilered just coz it's big)

I don't know for sure but apparently that kid was waiting for his dad to finish the race. He dies, one family member suffers brain damage and the other loses a limb.

He's an actor for fuck's sake :D

How any of you can believe these media outlets any more I'll never know. They have changed the narrative on this story about Boston several times and are not showing half the photos/video from the incident or asking any proper questions like they should.

The guy they were hunting yesterday his mum said it was a setup but the only one to cover it was RT.

he was part of a group funded by the US State department to cause unrest in Russian border areas.

Now he cant talk as they shot his throat out but he has 4 lawyers in the family so I'm looking forward to the truth coming out on this.

Of course there are republicans like John McCain calling for him to be declared an "enemy combatant" which would mean a military kangaroo court.

In any case, this incident has woke a lot of people up to the reality of false flags and drills running every time these events occurr.

I know people get a bit hysterical in aftermath of traumatic events but this a bit nuts

There are some sick sick people in this world:

By ABC News

The horror of the Boston Marathon bombing has been turned into an online game making fun of the three people who died and the 260 who were injured, some losing their legs from the blasts. The game is called "Boston Marathon 2013: Terror on the Streets," in which a runner dodges crudely rendered pressure cooker bombs.

If the runner hits a bomb, the runner explodes - which is followed by a crude graphic of a bandaged, legless man in a wheelchair, and the phrase, "You got fucked up! Better luck next year."

A narrator in the trailer created for the game's release states, "You will beg for mercy while doing mad jumps over weaponized pressure cookers."

The game, hosted on the website lolokaust.com, is being called a "careful retrobit recreation of the Boston Marathon bombing" by its creators.

The game's format is structured like an old 1980's Nintendo sidescroller. The entirety of the game play is mashing a keyboard spacebar, prompting an on-screen runner to jump over bombs.

The game's creators included some other bits in an attempt to mock Boston with a bar called "Cheerz" and a restaurant called "Boston Chowda Inc" appearing in the scrolling backdrop. There are also city of Boston "facts" subtitling the game play, one explaining that the New England Patriots almost had a perfect season in 2007 until they lost to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.

Nina Huntemann is an associate professor in the department of communications at Suffolk University and co-editor of "Joystick Soldiers: The Politics of Play in Military Video Games." She told ABCNews.com that these types of low-quality games are not uncommon following a tragedy.

"There was a similar thing around Columbine, around Sandy Hook," she said. "The reason is that the tools to make a game at this level, which is very low production quality, this simple, are readily accessible and don't require a lot of technical knowledge."

Huntemann says the game is definitely offensive.

"It does speak to a minority of Internet culture that seems to have no filter, no moral line that they won't cross," she said. "It's not enjoyable, and it's not engaging. It will disappear and hopefully, be forgotten."

All of lolokaust.com's creators are listed under aliases, so ABC News could not make contact with the game's creators.

The brothers Tsarnaev had plans to drive to New York in their carjacked Mercedes and explode their remaining bombs last Thursday, but their plans went off track when the owner of the car they stole made an escape, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

Authorities said the information came to the attention of investigators during the interrogation of 19-year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who had at first said the plan was to go to New York to "party" but then changed his story in a subsequent interview. At that time Tsarnaev allegedly acknowledged that he and his brother planned a follow-up attack. The brothers had several unexploded devices with them as they tried to flee, Boston Police sources said.

There was no immediate reaction from New York officials but Mayor Michael Bloomberg has scheduled a news conference for this afternoon.

Law enforcement officials also tell ABC News they are preparing to move the accused Boston Marathon bomber from his hospital room to a secured medical facility in one of the region's prisons, sources tell ABC News.

The move is expected in the next 48 hours, but officials were not making public the timing of the transfer or the Tsarnaev's destination. There are several prison facilities around Boston that have medical facilities.

The developments come after authorities collected what could be fresh evidence of how the men believed responsible for the twin detonations at the Boston Marathon finish line constructed their bombs.

Agents uncovered a stash of firework shells, some of which appeared to have been emptied of their gunpowder. The cache was discovered in a used clothing collection bin in a grocery store parking lot in Watertown.

"It was a device that looks like a big firecracker … that had a wick in it," said Michael Tambosi, a representative of the group Planet Aid New England, which owns the clothing donation containers.

A driver for the organization first spotted the fireworks when he opened the bin. There were about half a dozen Roman candle shells in a plastic grocery bag and Tambosi said it looked like some of them had been scooped out.

Investigators responded late Wednesday, loading the bins on a flatbed truck and carrying them away to the staging area the FBI team has set up for gathering evidence in the bombing case.

Already, authorities have determined that most of the homemade bombs were built with store-bought items, including kitchen pressure cookers, nails, and the guts of remote control cars. The source of the explosive materials was still being studied.

Officials will be examining the fireworks to see if the hollowed-out shells match those that Tamerlan Tsarnaev is believed to have purchased from a vendor in New Hampshire, or bear any resemblance to the pyrotechnic device that agents said was discovered in Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's college dorm room. Explosives experts said the powder from the fireworks can serve as a potent ingredient in homemade devices similar to those that exploded along Boylston Street, killing three and wounding more than 250 marathon spectators.

"They can be extremely powerful," New York Police Department bomb technician Kevin Barry told ABC News.

Officials continued Wednesday to try piece together the actions taken by the Tsarnaev brothers in the days and weeks leading up to the marathon blasts. But that effort will no longer be aided by the hospitalized suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Tsarnaev is no longer cooperating with interrogators, authorities said. He was read his Miranda rights on Monday after 16 hours of questioning, which interrogators said was stretched out as long as possible.

Authorities were gathering evidence that suggested the two brothers might have been planning a trip to New York.

The man who was car-jacked by the bombers has reported he may have overheard them talking about Manhattan. Police were also scrutinizing photos posted on a Russian social network page by a friend and one time classmate of 19-year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The photo showed Tsarnaev and others in Times Square a year ago.

The New York police commissioner said he had been told by investigators that the two brothers were talking about traveling to New York after the bombings.

"The bit of information that we have ... may have been words to the effect of coming to New York to party," said New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelley

People in Boston continue to struggle to understand the motive of the bombings and the murder of a police officer on the MIT campus. At Wednesday's memorial for the slain officer, Vice president Joseph Biden spoke with angry contempt of the Tsarnaev brothers. "Two twisted, perverted, cowardly, knock-off jihadis here in Boston," he said.

One lingering mystery lies in what changed for Dzhakhar Tsarnaev, who spent most of his childhood and formative years in America schools, and was widely described as easy going and well liked. Just last year, on September 11, in a patriotic ceremony on the floor Boston's TD Garden, the University of Massachusetts student and casual soccer player sat among 2,500 immigrants and swore his allegiance to the United States, becoming a naturalized citizen of the United States.

Seven months later, authorities say he told FBI agents that he and his brother planted bombs along the route of the revered sporting event and killed a police officer. The reason he gave, according to authorities, was that Muslims are at war with the US.

MAKHACHKALA, Russia (Reuters) - The parents of the two main suspects in the Boston bombings said on Thursday their sons had been framed and accused U.S. authorities of killing the older brother to put on a display.

Anzor Tsarnaev, the father, banged the table in anger as he announced plans to go from Russia to the United States to "find out the truth" and Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, the mother, said she had wanted to scream when she heard of her elder son's death.

She denied Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, had made contact with Islamist militants during a stay in Russia last year and said she was considering giving up her U.S. citizenship.

"I wanted to scream to the whole world, 'What did you do?' What have you done with my son? He was alive. Why did you need to kill him? Why didn't you send him to Guantanamo or whatever? Why? Why?," she shouted at a new conference, her voice cracking.

"It is some kind of show, spectacle," she said, adding that she wanted her son buried in Russia, where he has roots.

Wearing a black head scarf, she spoke in accented English as she maintained her belief her sons were victims of a conspiracy.

"Politics is a dirty business. I don't know in whose interest this was. I only know one thing, that my children didn't do this."

She recounted that she had called Tamerlan after the bombing and he had told her not to worry.

He was shot dead by police in a firefight four days after the bombings at the Boston Marathon which killed three people and wounded 264.

His brother Dzhokhar, 19, was captured after a manhunt. He has been charged with crimes that carry a possible death penalty and is now in hospital being treated for his wounds.

Pounding the table with his fists, Anzor Tsarnaev said: "I am going to the United States. I want to say that I am going there to see my son, to bury the older one. I don't have any bad intentions. I don't plan to blow up anything."

"I am not angry at anyone. I want to go find out the truth," said Anzor, his eyes hidden behind dark glasses.

He said he would go as soon as possible but that he had not yet bought a plane ticket.

Anzor and Zubeidat returned last year to Russia's restive region of Dagestan, where they lived for a little over a year more than a decade ago before emigrating to the United States.

Although the brothers have roots in Dagestan and neighboring Chechnya, neither had spent much time there until Tamerlan returned last year for six months.

His parents denied he had had any contact with militants fighting to establish an Emirate in the region, saying they kept a watchful eye on him during his stay.

They said, however, that Tamerlan had frequented a mosque which is considered by local police to be a hotbed of radical Islamist ideas.

Investigators are looking into whether Tamerlan was influenced by the local Islamist militants, who are waging an insurgency against Russian rule of the North Caucasus.

Zubeidat was questioned for almost seven hours by Russia's security services on Wednesday on her son's movements during his time in Dagestan.

On another occasion, when the FBI came to question Tsarnaev in the United States in 2011, Zubeidat said they had quizzed her about his religious views.

"They told me, 'Don't you think that Tamerlan is being a little extreme about religion? Do you think he would think about organizing something, some kind of ... terrorism?," she said.

Despite the visit, she said: "I really did not see any reason for worry."

Anzor and Zubeidat said Tamerlan had been influenced by an ethnic Armenian emigre from Azerbaijan whom they knew only by the name of Misha.

"Tamerlan very much respected him for him knowing Islam... He was (saying) like, 'Mom, look at him, he prays, he is fasting all the time'," said Zubeidat, who describes herself as a devout Muslim and said she was inspired to become more religious by the man called Misha.

The family said they had met the man in the Russian-speaking diaspora in Boston in 2007.

U.S. officials have said Tamerlan became more radical from around 2009.

"I wasn't praying until he (Misha) prayed in our house, so I just got really ashamed that I am not praying, being a Muslim, being born a Muslim ... while Misha, who converted, was praying," Zubeidat said.

"When he used to come to our house, there was nothing not to like about him. (He) was very nice, very gentle," she said.
