Installing the game [Ubuntu 14.04]
1.Open terminal and type
sudo apt-get install playonlinux

2. Download the official game iso from http://www.champman0102.co.uk/downloads.php?do=file&id=2

3. Double clicking the file should open up the archiver, from here extract to your desired location. Personally I keep the file in ~/Games.

4. Then mount the iso. Right click the file and choose open with / disk image mounter.

5. Now open playonlinux and agree to any updates due to it being the first time it has been run.

6. Click on the install button and then install a non-supported program.

7. Then follow these instructions.

8. Once the configuration tab opens make sure the following is selected.

http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04190853.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04190853.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04190901.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04190901.php)

9. Then carry on with the following settings. (Do not add a desktop shortcut within the Windows installer)

http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191028.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191028.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191056.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191056.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191119.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191119.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191219.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191219.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191226.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191226.php)

10. Now time to add shortcuts to your system.

http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191250.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191250.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191302.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191302.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191311.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191311.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191324.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191324.php)http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191330.png (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-04191330.php)

11. By default the shortcuts are added to the desktop but this next step will add them to the applications menu. Open the terminal and type
sudo nautilus then copy and paste the shortcuts to
/usr/share/applications You can now delete the shortcuts on the desktop and an application search will return CM0102.

Applying the .68 patch [Ubuntu 14.04]
1. Download the patch from here http://www.champman0102.co.uk/downloads.php?do=file&id=3

2. Open playonlinux and click configure, Miscellaneous, Run a Windows Executable (.exe) file in this virtual drive and choose the patch exe and apply. Now you will play with the .68 patch.

I was only using iosmount and wine to run CM0102 on Ubuntu :).

But glad there is more detailed tutorial around here ;).

So many options with linux it's brilliant. But I thought playonlinux/furiusiso was the most user friendly.

I guess 2 later ones are fairly new additions as I haven't heard of them (but, I haven't used Ubuntu or Linux for that matter since 2007 ).

Plus I always find without using playonlinux CM runs too slow.

Trying to see if I can get the Tapani patcher working in Xubuntu.

Not work. When start new game need disk, cant run the game, please help

Remember that you need to mount the iso. Once you have done so with furiusiso then do the following:

1. Open playonlinux.
2. Click configure
3. On Wine tab, click configure Wine.
4. On drives tab, click autodetect. (Make sure the D drive is your CM0102 cdrom)
5. Then apply.

Let me know how you get on. If it still doesn't work please take a screenshot of your drives tab and I will help :ok:

I send u pm

No problem, I will also reply to the thread so that anyone with this issue can find the solution.

1. Make sure when you configure Wine that the correct bottle is highlighted.

http://www.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshot-221113-112200.php (http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshot-221113-112200.php)

2. Once the iso has been mounted, in your drives tab you need to click "show advanced"

Make sure the type is "CD-ROM"
Check autodetect from device
Make sure the drive letter is D.

From your screenshot your path seems correct but as per the above your drive letter needs changing and device type needs to be set to CD-ROM.

Before starting CM open your file manager and make sure your ISO has been mounted. Click on the mounted cd-rom to make sure your system has loaded it.

I use pcmanfm and unless I open my file manager it will not load my cd-rom.

Hi, first of all i would like to thank you for all this work, it really helped me install cm0102 on ubuntu 13.10, the only thing i can complain is that now the game doesn't recognize some simbols like ~^´``but that isn't a problem.

Now can you help me with something? Is it possible to make the Tapani Patch work? Because i was able to make the JL Patch work (just replaced the exe file with a patched one) but i would like to use the Tapani Patch to correct the league formats, is it possible?

Can you send me that? Witch Tapani Patch? The one who corrects the game bugs and league structures (3.12) or the one that just corrects game bugs (2.19)? Anyway, can you please send me that exe file? because i only have ubuntu in my computer and can't make it work.

I've tried the above but am having similar problems to Kuig. I have followed all the instructions up to "Make sure the drive letter is D." Automatically it assigns the drive as H. The only way I could work out to change it to D was to Add a new drive with the letter D, replicate the path it suggested for drive H and then make sure it had type as CD-ROM. However, the game still does not recognize that the CD is in the drive.

The .iso is definitely mounted and I opened the file manager to check. I'm clearly missing something here, but not sure what. I would appreciate any help, thanks!

Hello xobxela,

Would you mind posting some screenshots? I would like to see the cd within the file manager and also the wine drive configuration.

The D path looks incorrect to me.

Try:

/Home/CM0102_iso

Let me know who you got on.

I'm afraid it still doesn't recognise that the disc is there:

And here are all the relevant screens with the address changed:

My fault I think.

Try:

/home/xobxela/CM0102_iso

If that does not work unmount from furiusiso and re mount but choose loop instead of fuse.

Sorry I have a further question now I'm up and running. I'm not quite sure how to install the data updates. I've downloaded the Autumn update and unzipped the folder but I'm having a hard time working out where to go in order to paste the data files. Any ideas?

If you would prefer an icon that is not pixelated then:

http://en.zimagez.com/miniature/screenshotfrom2014-10-20220058.png (http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshotfrom2014-10-20220058.php)

You can also add it to your dash.

Just right click the shortcut and choose properties and click on the icon and you can choose your new icon.

Many thanks for this tutorial. Have the game up and running like a dream. Just 2 quick questions.

1) I have to mount the iso every time the laptop restarts. It's not the end of the world by any means but is there a way around this?

2) Is there anyway I can resize the screen during gameplay. It's in 800x600 but my laptop screen is 1366x768 so it's looks fairly small on the screen.

Many thanks

Chris

1. yes, you have to "mount" it every time. no way around it. that said, once you've loaded your saved game, i believe you can "unmount" it.

2. i do not believe that is possible.
