View Full Version : National Champ Manager Day

03-06-14, 08:10 AM
No idea if this has already been done or not but considering there are specials 'days' for absolute anything nowadays (Steak and BJ day was genius however) how about we have a CM0102 Day?

01/02 (1st Feb every year) seems the logical choice.

Idiotic idea or does it have legs?

03-06-14, 09:39 AM
1st of November. Then there's fresh update available to celebrate National Champo Day :ok:

03-06-14, 09:58 AM
I love your idea Boozehound, I love your name even more, cheers.

an annual gettogether at the Viper stadium.

03-06-14, 11:26 AM
That reminds me of trying to get an actual meet up going on the old server :D

03-06-14, 11:34 AM
Haha, that never worked out! I think it was attempted twice as well?

03-06-14, 11:36 AM
No-one could decide on location. Northern lads wanted to meet in Manchester and Southern in London. And Bev wanted everyone in Nottingham of course

03-06-14, 11:43 AM
He'll want to meet in Australia now!

03-06-14, 12:00 PM
Himself, Oz, Fods, bhnow and klosec can have a Champman Oz get together

03-06-14, 01:04 PM

I already ran into Bev at Kellyville station, Oz came and put out our fire

21-01-15, 02:26 PM
Only 10 days to go until CM 01/02 day...

21-01-15, 02:34 PM
that will be a blast. As will the gettogether. When was this again? We settled at Mark's place, didnt we?

21-01-15, 03:15 PM
Mark lives at the Brittania, right? Should be room anyway...

21-01-15, 03:30 PM
Couldn't meet on match day there in fairness. Meeting up with Jebus at the Etihad though, we could bring a plus one and more :P

21-01-15, 03:37 PM
My flat is tiny!

More than happy for you lot to come to Stoke and watch a game though :D That'd be awesome!

21-01-15, 03:39 PM
Jesus was gonna come over to Amsterdam for beers, but ran out of funds. I mean, wtf? He couldve made more, right?

In all seriousness, we SHOULD have a beer and a BBQ somewhere this summer/ autumn.

Funds weren't an issue, it was the lack of planning time and getting shafted to stay in a grotty B&B that fucked it up. Next time my friend, next time!

21-01-15, 04:20 PM
Good to hear. Why was I thinking funds? Was that someone else then?

21-01-15, 06:01 PM
It was me and I said you're no fun. I can see how you got mixed up!

21-01-15, 06:12 PM
Get a lift to Dublin and we'll get the ferry. I'll drive to Stoke with a load of power ballads blaring lol

21-01-15, 06:30 PM
I'm not going Hanley again Mark, got stung in ST1 the last time I was there for a mates stag do!

Craig Forrest
21-01-15, 07:23 PM
Me? I never have funds... the flights from Ottawa aren't cheap..... but one day I'll come and spend a couple of weeks sleeping on the couches of various CM friends across Europe :ok:

22-01-15, 02:14 AM
I'll be CM'ing away on 1st Feb!

22-01-15, 10:36 AM
Hollow out a canoe from a fallen tree CF, be a pretty epic way to cross the Atlantic for a meet up

22-01-15, 11:38 AM

1) Never go to Hanley.
2) You went to a strip club?

Pub crawls are the way forward :ok:

22-01-15, 01:42 PM
Ahhhh, ST1. Great place if you want to throw away hundreds in an hour or so to some average looking birds!

22-01-15, 01:51 PM
Haha, I never spotted that you're from Crewe! I am only 20 minutes away as I live in Madeley :ok:

I tend to end up having a few in Crewe when we've come back to the train station after a day out.

22-01-15, 02:02 PM
Yep, born and raised here! You're even closer than I thought lol I always thought you lived in the city centre somewhere!

Not a great selection of watering holes in Crewe! But where do you tend to go?

22-01-15, 02:58 PM
The closest to the train station, corner bar or something? We used to go to the box as well which got a bit rough or has closed down now

Always lived here (apart from short spells living in Silverdale, Newcastle and Tunstall!), perfect for the job as I work at Keele.

22-01-15, 03:18 PM
Yeah that's the one. Only been in the Box once and a 30 man brawl broke out so never again!

Fair play! Half my family are from Kidsgrove so know the area a little bit! Let me know if you ever fancy a beer or anything! :)

22-01-15, 05:21 PM
Used to love the short trip to Crewe in Forest's League One days. I seem to remember drinking in a smallish boozer near a corner which had a screen with the footy on. Bit rough round the edges but aren't we all? Another year we ventured a bit further in and found a decent pub with pool table and dart board. No idea what they were called however.

Not been clubbing in Stoke but remember going to a double-tiered Wetherspoons near the centre which had an Andy Impey-lookalike in a wheelchair. Good memories.

22-01-15, 07:16 PM
It wasn't stag do of course we went the strippers :D

23-01-15, 10:53 AM
Think that will still be the Corner Bar Boozehound! It's one of the better pubs down the main road anyway lol. Most of the pubs have been closed down in recent years/refurbed anyway so they will look completely different nowadays.

Haha Andy Impey! what a guy. That could be Hanley town centre if the Wetherspoons looked like a public library/museum from the outside?

29-01-15, 01:59 PM
Can't remember the outside to be fair, think it was early 00s. Have drank and slept a lot since then.

The first ever National Champ Manager 01/02 day is now only two days away...

Might celebrate by starting a new game whilst watching Celtic v Rangers on BBC Scotland.

29-01-15, 06:00 PM
I completed the challenges so will champing on new game with Beezer Database I think with Liverpool and Swans
