View Full Version : The Inception of Clan 01-02

how did the network forum start? The original thread is in the old site with the original clan game, i hope to be able to move it here soon.

Game Rules

Times of Play
Game to start week beginning 26th September 2011.
Game will run either one or two days a week on an ongoing basis.
If the majority choose one day a week, Thursday will be the day of play, for 3 hours.
If the majority choose two days a week, Wednesday and Sunday will be the days of play, for 2 hours each night.
The game will take place in the evenings, 10pm being the start time.

Absent Players
Any manager not signed in at the start time will be automatically holidayed.
Players joining in late will still be able to return from holiday and continue.

Save Game
Obviously the host will have a save game file of the game on their hard drive.
The host must send the .sav file to at least 2 other managers in the game, meaning we are never relying solely on one person to keep the game running.
This needs to be done within 24hrs of saving the game (probably best to make it part of the process of shutting down at the end of the session)

The host will be chosen before the first night, daftorbital has volunteered for this, happy enough for him to host.
I have had 3 managers in a game and had no problems, more than this has not been tested so if we have to do a bit of trial and error to evaluate the best host, this will happen on the first session.
If a host knows they can't make a session they should advise one of the other game save holders to host in their place, prior to the game night.

No wib/wob tactics please.
Bidding for players you don't even want to buy in order to unsettle them is unsportsmanlike http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Game Pace
This is one that we will have to sort out in play. Whilst everyone understands there will be a bit of wheeling and dealing at the start, squad evaluating and so on, there needs to be a nice pace to the game and as such once the season starts full flow a few minutes per turn (between match days) should be sufficient.
There is chat in the game and in Hamachi and I'm sure managers will make themselves heard if they think others are slowing things up.
This is something that will ultimately be decided by the players.

Game Settings
Hosts must change their settings to save the game every month at the longest, if there is a crash this will minimize data loss.
Host can decide if they want maximum database or normal database setting.

Data Set
We will be using the new ODB update (sep 2011) and Tapani patch 2.19

22-03-12, 10:11 PM
Looking forward to tonight men,
Robbie serving his ban and hopefully the pace will be good, let's rip through the matches tonight, continue button all the way

Oh yeah, check out the menubar for our clan game, just figured out there is an image button on the CMS there duh! duh!http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
You sellin this guy Jonny? As you can see he is flying in my other game, and with 19 stamina he last the whole 90 mins no bother, unlike any other 16 yr old i've seen in the game

22-03-12, 10:11 PM
Yeah he's a smashing player. In my other game when i seen his stats i couldn't believe it and stuck him in the team, not only was I happy with the goals I was amazed at his stamina/fitness as he never really gets tired or drops below 90% fitness.

Really enjoyed last night guys it was moving at a nice pace and the banter was great with the manchester and liverpool teams. Robbie to return next time and sorry to dakitheking but I think we should keep the numbers where they are until we complete the first season. http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/closed_2.gif

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Also could daftorbital upload the game to sendspace or 4shared or any of those places so we can have a few gameholders. I have started taking a few screenshots of the stand out players in each team (Falcao, Tevez & Aguero, Welbeck, the host of Liverpool youngsters, Chelsea starlet Josh McCeacheran so far) but would like to go in and grab league tables, match reports from games where humans played each other or where upsets occurred etc and have a good ol' update on here showing off our game so it would be handy to have a copy to do that.

Welsh we saved it up last night before you had any further matches as per the original rules it wouldn't have been fair to holiday you through a game when you had already agreed the extra half hour and it expired http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

See you all Sunday http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/nod.gif

22-03-12, 10:11 PM
Yesterday was the best session yet. moved along at a good pace and we are entering the business end of the season now http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

On Dakitheking, who would like to join, my thoughts are like yours Chris. so no can do im afraid until next season http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

Chris regading screenshots etc, i was going to post a few up towards the end of the season and then at the conclusion too. i think sending tapanified databases thhrough uploaders is not a good idea from my experience on FCA.

Sunday should be another good session http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

22-03-12, 10:12 PM

22-03-12, 10:13 PM
Falcao, a great buy for Jonny, that has seen him shoot up into the running for the euro spots

22-03-12, 10:13 PM
Nothing left to play for daft except the euro spots.

Didn't think it was that bad the crash was annoying but 4 teams flied the flag!
Jonny declined to comment but the rest were brash to the end http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

here is the draw for europe, you don't need to worry about that though http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

didn't get time to grab many screens or would have had the UEFA as well but i did get the crash (the recurring one I have because two players are on the same PC):

22-03-12, 10:13 PM
Man Utd through to Champ League Semi

Juve and Spurs in Eufa Final, that's all I can remember and I can't check fuck all as the game hasn't been shared STILL.

Daftorbital can't play on Sunday, he asked for the game to be moved to Saturday this week to accomodate him which no-one could do, everyone can only commit to the original agreed times. The link to the game needs to be posted here mate so we can all continue on in your absence.

If you aren't going to share the game and we don't get playing on Sunday, I'm out. (Echoes of Duncan Bannatyne there http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif)
Don't ruin it for everyone, you can't win anything anyway this season daft so let us all finish our season off.

22-03-12, 10:14 PM
Wowser i got the Clan coming down hard and fast http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Firstly, voila, i have now been able to upload the save game. There was some issues with it uploading the other day and havnt tried since, as busy.

Just some other points i would like to go over Chris as wouldnt want any bad vibes -

1. I can play sunday but due to many other commitments its going to be a long old slog( i refuse to holiday at such a crucial stage as i do have alot to play for ie: the tense battle for 4th) however i will probably put myself on holiday at end of season to then concentrate on the other things i am doing. If i am off for any unreasonable amounts of time(that means not the first person to say 'oi hurry up daft' http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif) then i will holiday from that point.

2. i did not know that these were the only times we could ALL play..sorry bout that.

3. I do not think i am ruining anything for anyone....and will not. http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif

Okie doke thats me done. will post up a couple of screenies later...http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Oh and Chris i dont think you will have to use your Duncan Bannatyne impressionhttp://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/amen.gif http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

thats all from me

Daft http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

22-03-12, 10:15 PM
Ok Here's the update as promised.
David couldn't be stopped in his first attempt for silverware and the League Cup is now on display in the "insert sponsor here" Stadium http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Unlucky Gareth! However the main event had not the same outcome, the European Cup saw the two manchester teams drawn out to gether and Man City were at home first:

Total dominance seemed a foregon conclusion, until:

The return leg replicated the score and even after extra time, the manchester teams were deadlocked. PK's then:

The leagues deadliest strikeforce couldn't score a penalty betweeen them!
Chelsea got through their tie against Marseille also and here is the semi final:

So come on guys, turn over the spaniards and you meet in the final! Speaking of meeting in finals there are two other finals to be contested by human managers:

Last but not least here is the current standings.

See yous on Sunday for the conclusion of the season ! http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:15 PM
Let's get this UEFA cup back to the delle alpi (stadio olymipco de torino?)

Also let me know guys if you are all happy to allow new managers after the season ends?

As robbie would say, now it's "squeaky bum time!" http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

See you all later

22-03-12, 10:15 PM
Good finish to the season, Jonny showed the old Lady what's what in the Uefa and Man City dominated England while the Chelsea Pensioners picked up the Champions League.

Daft can you update the sendspace file to the current savegame, or is there a new link?

We all just left the game open last night for you to save when you came back.

22-03-12, 10:16 PM
Latest Savegame folks.......

http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

see ya all tomorrow. i reckon half hour for pre season and then get cracking. maximum 1 friendly http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:16 PM
Ok chaps,
here's the final update for the season, seeing as it skipped on a wee bit there is no final league table, but i grabbed a few of the records that show how dominant, and dirty, Man City were in the first season.

Here he was again in the FA Cup beating Jonny to the silverware:

Chelsea, although not in great form in the premier league last season managed to haul the best trophy of the lot, overturning perennial over acheivers, Barcelona.

Lastly, didn't really want to post this one http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/frusty.gif
Jonny McGraw's Spurs give Juve a lesson in the UEFA cup final:

22-03-12, 10:16 PM
Gordon has taken over AC Milan, and i remember vaguely drunken chat in the shoutbox that Luis Russo may also join us this evening. Should be good craic.

I can't see it being as slow this time around, but in pre season there can't be as many calls to "dig on" as you lot will be signing players
Juve can't afford to sign players, we use our pre-season for match fixing meetings - incidentally Spurs still haven't completed the payment for the UEFA final http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

see you all at 10 http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:16 PM
I think it's July already due to us all leaving the game running on holiday last session so the pre-season, intertoto etc is about to kick off soon.

Gordon threw a hissy last night and said he wants removed from the game so yeah your £20M looks good Jonny. That Spurs team has took some rent over the course of the game, I was laughing at him paying £20M for Dawson!

Welsh, hope the kids are good mate, man flu is for wimps http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I am actually working now so may not be about for a few of the sessions coming up, Matthias may be a holidayer in the coming weeks, will get my hours later and clarify. I will, of course, still aim to do the updates with screenshots each session to include the brand new season 2 menubar http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

Also, don't know if this will interest you guys but Mark is wanting to revive the PS3 play between members. fifa game friday night - http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/show...45046&posted=1 (http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/16553-Friday-Night-All-Nighter-%284th-November%29?p=345046&posted=1)

22-03-12, 10:17 PM
the next one ? http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

it will take probably about 6-7 weeks a season, best get in now mate. A few posts back there the player teams were listed and every other team is available. Daft will have a hernia if it is as slow this time though so I would ask that if you are joining this week you come on early (about 9pm) and either he or I will host and let you pick a team and do your business http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Once 10pm hits we want to be "digging on" - the network game catchphrase, you'll get used to that http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
(continue button all the way to match day)

There is always time while others play their matches to tweak your team and to poach each others players/coaches/scouts

Please read the rules about halfway down page 2 of this thread as well, we don't want another wib/wob scandal http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

See you there mate http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:17 PM
yep. Nice. I will be on about 9:10pm on Wednesday.

I'll go with Real Madrid or Barca or Napoli or Inter if i must be in a league with others in.
But i dont mind.

it dunt take me long to sort stuff out either. I'm a quick player.

22-03-12, 10:18 PM
Great stuff,
your choice mate no rules on playing in same league, i was the only italian league manager last season.

To get into your team, you just click your team name in the manager status screen. It allows you to make changes and you can find other teams from there if you know who you want to bid for. All functions aren't active like player/staff search etc but it lets you have a butchers anyway and know who is surplus to requirements, promote reserves and watonot.

22-03-12, 10:18 PM
I'm a quick player.
I got all logged on with Chris last night.
And got a look at the game.

Barca still had everyone.
Madrid had lost Mesut Özil to Man Utd, but that was it.

So i will be Madrid, and Patinoz can be Barca.

Nice. El classico....

22-03-12, 10:18 PM
i'm joining 2nite / 2moro night.
I am gona be Madrid, I think Patinoz wanted Barca.

U dont need any update. Just the proper Patch. The v3.9.68.

Then download Hamachi and open it and join the group. Then use the tutorial on here to get ur IP address matched.

Then just load CM, and join network game!

22-03-12, 10:18 PM
Here is the latest savegame folks. see you all around 9.00 pm, especially the newbies

22-03-12, 10:19 PM
ok daft, here's the new game for you to host:

includes the new additions http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:19 PM
It does start at 10.

Daft usually loads the game up a bit early for anyone that wants a look without continuing.

I'll be there for 9:30/9:45 for the main event, lets keep it movig tonight, anyone fancy joining the Luciano Moggi tournament? All proceeds wil go to our former general manager's family, now that he is incarcerated http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Man City have accepted, 2 more spaces....

22-03-12, 10:20 PM
Ok first of all thanks to everyone for being there last night. It was great to see so many interested in playing each other online and the craic in Hamachi was stellar at times, when we weren't at each other's throats through frustration! http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Now to the actual sorry state of affairs that was the game.
Crashes, slow play holding up the game when it didn't crash, bickering in the hamachi shoutbox, disoriented newbs not knowing what the hell was happening, in short it was an epic failure of a network game. Truth be told it was my fault it shut down at the end as I hit the red X, I was so tired I thought I could get out and in again, not realising I was the host. I'm usually not that stupid but was fatigued from the experience of a 12 player off season http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

Ok so what to do now is the next question, there was chat last night and Welshred has suggested opening a second game and splitting the players in half.

A sensible idea seeing as we have already played a season with 6/7 players and it was quality, just ask robbie3:16 and Jonny Mcgraw (both of whom quit when the numbers increased, although they loved the weekly sessions with smaller numbers) These guys may want to return if the game is run in smaller groups

I feel we could benefit from rebooting the original game as well as it will not last past 2014 anyway (it is running on V1.0 I now have V2.0) but am not dead set on this, and welcome opinions. Whatever happens, myself, David and Gordon need to be in the same game as David was sharing my computer and Gordon was sharing my broadband, at the moment they can't play in another game. Dave's computer is off being fixed so he will be sorted soon enough but Gordon has no broadband so will need to remain in whichever game I am in. I'm also happy to continue the existing save for 1 more season as I simply don't like the thought of another pre-season, signing coaches and plyers all over again! If there are enough interested in continuing the game we will do that http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Can anyone who is interested in online play please post in here or in general chat with your preference/suggestions/comments and we should get something set up for Sunday. You may want different night or different times for the new game, you may want different rules than our original game, don't be shy speak up now before it starts!

Although spliting it down limits interaction between members slightly, I would suggest that after a season the top 6 players (scored on manager points) are then promoted to a new game (Online Championship Game) where the elite duke it out. This is just an idea, and there are obvious advantages to picking a team already in the Euro Super Cup, for example, as this will vastly increase your manager points, other suggestions again welcomed. The fact that there will be a new thread for the game will probably be enough anyway as I know I'll be noseying in every now and again and I'm sure everyone else will too.

To put a positive spin on last night, a week or two ago we found out the limitations of Hamachi in that 15 per group is the quantity limit. Now we know that over 6/7 in a game is the quality limit, more than this has a negative impact on the experience, I am on a learning curve as much as everyone else here and although frustrating at times, if we learn something along the way the time spent is not wasted.
http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif how about that for spin? http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif Tony Blair should have had me working for him never mind Mandelson http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

OK, I'm stuck here til 6pm tonight so give me some feedback fellow managers, (I await a torrent of abuse http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif )
Cheers Boys

22-03-12, 10:20 PM
Great idea Chris.

Splitting it into 2 sides.

12 was too many.

I agree, u shudnt have to do another pre-season. So maybe the 6/7 from last season shud carry on the one that you host.

I would be able to host another game. But I'm not sure I would want a load of the noobs, and useless people who take forever.

But if the demand is there, then we could try and do something.

If your current game, with the 6/7 from last season does lose 1 or 2 members for good, maybe me and Patinoz could fill in.

And then once that dies in 2014 or whatever start 2 new online games.

Why will ur game crash in 2014?

22-03-12, 10:20 PM
OK well i think Welshred was going to be joining the second game and he must take credit for the splitting of the players idea as well, I remember him saying last night he would be happy to join the new one. (can you confirm if this is right or not mate? if you'd rather stay here I will hosthe new one http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Robbie has left Arsenal, Jonny has left Spurs.
So remaining in Belfast we have: myself (Juve), David (Man C), Gareth (Chelski), Gordon (AC Milan)
DaftOrbital has a very young liverpool squad that I'm sure he wants to see develop for a season more also.
wato and Pati are in Spain (right?)

If we kept those players in the original game to play the next season that woud mean that:
Welshred, Luis Russo, Stuart, Eofinn would remain for the new start perhaps a couple more could be recruited or Jonny or Robbie might join back with a guarantee that the game is locked down for new players once started? Both guys only left because of the many new players slowing the pace of the game, as I said before they both really enjoyed season 1 and will likely be up for another go from the start.

Anyway let me know if y'all approve, if not give me counter offers men, it's only 3 days away so lets get it nailed down!

22-03-12, 10:21 PM
OK boys,
here's the latest save:

extract to the cm main folder - you know the drill.
Also, not 100% necessary but can you join the leagueA group above please? lets us see who is in what league, stay in the champmanclan as well if you need to (i have a game with robert for example, daft has a game with jonny)
see you all at 10pm http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

edit: i fucked up the new network, had to rename it cm0102Aleague, password is still online though

22-03-12, 10:21 PM

It seems like ages since a match was played in this game but I got 1 match last night, the spaniards got 2 and we had our first ragequit of the season http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
Liverpoool got about 6 matches including a friendly http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

On Wednesday when the drunken louts return from their alcohol induced illnesses it's on like Donkey Kong! http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif
We will actually get to enjoy the cut and thrust of a proper network game.

Can you post the game today/tonight please daft and I'll highlight all the "shit players" (quoting wato there) Barcelona have bought, as well as any other interesting screens.

Shame about the other game, I have 2 days off from tomorrow, will try and help revive the B league also!

I have to say if thunder91, guushiddink, mark-ogku, and The Guvner (stuart) don't respond in some way before Wednesday they will be removed from the group, no point being there if you aren't interacting. Anyone that has spoke to any of these guys, let me know, perhaps they play a game with you?

The old group went like this and real players couldn't get on because it was full, so I'm keeping a closer eye on it this time http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:21 PM
heres the save chris

probably take 20 to download http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

22-03-12, 10:22 PM
Since Daft is, eeeerm, let's say a little pre-occupied for the next 24 hours, I'll pass on the save.

Here it is boys, good game tonite http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

22-03-12, 10:22 PM
In all its glory. see you guys next week. have fun sunday

22-03-12, 10:22 PM
He was threatening to strip his team while he ain't here welshy http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
Actually daft has failed to leave holiday instructions http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif a possible costly oversight!

I know he will get to a computer wherever he is to look at the forum anyway http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Look forward to the report, I haven't wrote ours for a while but not a lot of games being played, I'll try and get one up for the weekend, to rejuvinate our daft's waning enthusiasm!

22-03-12, 10:23 PM
Since i have joined Real Madrid...

I have Signed.

What a great manager they must have...

:P :ok:

22-03-12, 10:24 PM
to stick with a theme in hamachi chat

"self praise is no recommendation"

here's the save - http://www.4shared.com/file/c9ex_yBb/Champ-Men.html

22-03-12, 10:25 PM
The spanish league was first to kick off with the supercup game between the two human managers, so it will be the first I will look at, Here are the players brought in my Patinoz and Wato this season:

So quite a few by Barcelona, and here are Madrid's investments:

Super Cup Games

The first game was a tight affair, a goal apeice at full time, Ribery and Xavi proving their worth with commanding performances, setting up a highly anticipated return leg at the Camp Nou

Barcelona were just too much for Wato to overcome on their own patch and the first silverware of the year goes to Pati. Ramos and Ronaldo were left wondering what happened as individually they had good games, but the teamwork and togetherness of the Barcelona team won out in the end.

Spanish Cup Draw

Here is the draw for the Copa del Rey:

Selected players from the managed teams

I have shown here a chosen player that was bought and is living up to their pricetag, and another chosen member of the swuad who has had a nice start to the season. First Real Madrid, the best of their buys so far seems to be Ribery, who has slotted in nicely and has a top av rating and his own share of goals and assists:

What would a madrid write up be without the obligatory Ronaldo photo op http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

So then to Barca, who's best performer from the batch of "shit players" (to quote Senor Watez, a cousin of the current Madrid manager) is probably Neuer between the sticks, a goalie is obviously one of the most important players in the team and again, this player has slotted in as if he had been there for years:

And again, it would be rude to have the shot of the madrid legendary miracle player if we weren't permitting a photo op for the audacious Barcelona retort:

Both teams had a winning streak ended before the first classico, although Sevilla beating Madrid at home is a reasonable outcome, Patinoz losing at Racing Santander was a bigger turn up for the books, form out the window though, El Grande Classico #1 for the season took place at the Bernebeau:

Leaving the league looking like this:

Would you rather have the points on the board or the games in hand? Barcelona are also playing in the World Competition at the moment, but that will be covered in the next write up, when it has finished.

The Italian league kicked into action with Milan very dominant at the outset, 13 wins in a row was their streak but unsure if this counted last seasons end in that record, Inter have also rose to the business end of the Serie A and Juve are lagging behind already in the early stages of the league, with their fans commenting that Gerard and Pirlo are past it http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

It is no surprise then that Milan showed Juve what was what when it came to the head to head:

Players Bought

Now for the run down on the transfer activity of the managers in the Serie A. Juve actually granted manager Matthias with the funds he asked for and allowed him to have a go in the transfer market:

His defensive heritage shows in those purchses 5 of these guys are able to play at centre back http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

Milan spent less but the transfer of Dawson for such a large amount raised a few eyebrows. Manager Gordon Roulston was quoted in the Milan Gazzetta:
"I don't know what all the fuss is about, the lad is an accomplished defender, he won the UEFA Cup last season as one of the main players for McGraw at Spurs, I think people need to remember that, especially Juventus"

Italian Cup

This one whittles down to the latter stages of the tournament a lot sooner in the season than the other main leagues, here is the current draw with both managers still keeping their teams in the competition:

Selected Players

You know the drill by now, we take a look at the best siging the manager has made, along with another stand-out member of their playing staff so far in the season, Juventus first, they bought Derflinger from Bayern and there was a lot of pressure on the young midfielder, as the Juve faithful now look upon him as the future of the club, he hasn't disappointed though:

The other chosen player is the striker Matri, who has returned from a successful season long loan spell last year and is immediately back in first team action, doing his thing for Juve:

Milan's best siging is arguably the Man Utd youngster Daehli (is this guy real or what, come on guys! http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif)
Even younger than the impressive Derflinger at Juve, this boys performances defy his tender years, he has become a regular in the first team and a fan favourite at the San Siro already.

Pato is the Milan version of Messi and Ronaldo, again it would be rude to exclude him from a selected players list, he is worth his place though, check out his season so far:

League Table

So the league currently looks like this, the two Milanese teams leading the way with Juve and napoli biting at their heels, who knows what will happen in the months ahead, there are a lot of stern tests in this league, almost every team capable of beating the others "on their day"

Juventus are in the UEFA cup again, after Chelsea stole their rightful place in the Champions League this season, the UEFA Cup will be covered from the quarter final stage if they are still competing in it.

22-03-12, 10:27 PM
So last but not least, the English Premiership, still our most subscribed league but not to the extent of last season, Jonny McGraw the Tottenham manager was found guilty of match fixing and shares a cell with Moggi http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Robert Campion, the former Arsenal manager has had a mental breakdown and now lives at a facility on the outskirts of London where the staff can give him the care that he needs http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

Players Bought

Manchester City picked up a lot of players as usual in the summer and there was a lot of dealings with Juventus in particular, with defenders going either way in a swap deal, there was also the small matter of Iniesta pulling on the blue shirt. Can anyone stop the Blue Moon?

Liverpool done some spending of their own and Fabiano was the name to appease the restless fans of the sleeping giant, they have however secured their place in the Champions league and surely more signings will follow in the months ahead

Chelsea also splashed out, the recession doesn't seem to exist in champmanland at all http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Again eyebrows were raised over a few of his signings, but manager Gareth Rainey, affectionately known to the Stamford Bridge faithful as "G Funk" declared:

"Our scouts have been watching these players for many months in some cases and we are certain that they are of the highest calibre, we already have a superb squad but these players will add things and give me additional options this season"

Charity Shield

David McClelland continued on his rampage of the English top didvision this autumn, and duly thrashed Manchester United in the Charity shield to get the season off to winning ways, manager Welsh Red has mysteriously disappeared without a trace, there was a crazy story in the Weekly World News that Manchester United were experimenting with a time portal device to bring players in from alternate Universes, the likes of John Charles and Eusebio were rumoured to be targets. Then again this paper doesn't carry much weight in journalistic circles and is widely regarded as a "joke paper" perhaps WelshRed will turn up again someday, for now, here's the match report http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

These certainly don't look like WelshRed's tactics though:

Manager Vs Manager

Here we must report the player vs player matches, it can be said that holiday have blighted the English division this season but I can see interest starting to peak again now that the season is ramping up. "Here we must report" is the phrase chosen becuse it is basically more of the same. Blue Moon McClelland romping on, even while on holiday, demolshing all comers and tightening his grip on the premiership trophy. Come on guys! Challenge him!

Premier League Table

League Cup

Here is the league cup draw, The FA Cup will feature in a later update, as the screen is massive, it's only round 1. No need for extra screens, like the UEFA, we will report on it when it becomes a big part of someone's season.

Selected Players

Once again the selected player section returns for the English edition, first we look at Man City, and of course Iniesta will not let you down if you can manage to tempt him to your club:

and Sergio is still striking fear into the hearts of defenders up and down the country

As far as Liverpool go, the impressive Defour has made a quality start to his Liverpool career, the young generation of centre midfielder seems to be a theme with managers this season, Liverpool have got a guy here that while still young, is also accomplished and renowned, he should be a great player for them (at least until 2014 http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif):

and Glen Johnson has been nothing short of amazing this season, doing his manager proud and staking his claim for the england right back place on a full time basis:

Chelsea have found a rather good player in Lewis Holtby, brought in from Schalke. Although still officially a fringe player, many stalwarts of the London club are swooning over the guys raw talent, time will tell how good he can be for the club but when he gets his games he has done the business so far:

Torres, well, is Torres. It's champman, deal with it http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/thumb.gif

So like I said, the leagues are getting interesting, check back for more soon http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

The Champions League
There are a few clubs still in the champions league. Well, to be more precise there is 1 manager that ISN'T in the Champions League but then those cockney wideboys lagged their way in and that was that for Juve, who were tarnished anyway after the incident with Tottenham in the UEFA Final last season. It beggars belief that UEFA allowed the club to remain in the competition but this has been played down by all parties, apparently Juventus are still a big draw for a second rate competition http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif

Anyway, here is the 2nd group stages of the Champions league, a couple of teams have met in the competition and I get the feeling there will be less holidays in the coming weeks, especially after this http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif

I know Daft had other affairs and couldn't help but holiday but all is not lost anyway, there are still two thirds of the games left in the group stage (2nd stage)

Current Group Standings

more will follow later in the season...

Hopefully I can be there by 10PM though if the stress of the city centre doesn't make me take refuge in one of the many taverns in Belfast http://champman0102.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif
