Who will win the 6 nations?

08-03-12, 08:17 AM

08-03-12, 09:21 AM
I fancy Fiji!

09-03-12, 07:09 PM
 Not england?

09-03-12, 09:55 PM
Western Samoa.

11-03-12, 11:21 PM
Great win by England today

11-03-12, 11:24 PM
It's still Wales' 6 Nations, no way will England get the 30-40 point swing they need to win the tournament :)

12-03-12, 02:44 AM
I was in Cardiff yesterday and going next week. French could be dangerous as they now have nothing to play for. But can't see England hammering Ireland
Typical BBC John Inverdale loving England! They did bloody well against France but were terrible against Italy and Scotland. Really improved against us (Wales) but we played hash and still won. Think they should keep Lancaster as manager tho

19-05-12, 11:15 AM

Come on Leinster. Was lucky enough to go to the final in Edinburgh in 2009 but due to so many weddings, stags and birthdays this year just too broke to go to Twickenham

We 'should' win the game on all known form but finals in any sport are prime for the upset. I list Leo Cullen as one of my sporting heroes and would love to see him lift another European Cup before retiring. Proper man

19-05-12, 05:38 PM
Sean O'Brian you fucking beast. O'Driscoll having some game. Great 1st half so far!

19-05-12, 07:48 PM

3rd time Champions in 4 years. What a dynasty :hail:

20-05-12, 12:55 AM
I couldn't care less about Rugby. It's good to live in the city of the best Rugby team in the world though. Just a good feeling.^^

Btw found this today. Hilarious video!

21-05-12, 11:58 AM
Seen it before, great clip

21-05-12, 09:45 PM
Rugby pishes over Football as a sport

25-01-13, 04:01 PM
Johnny Sexton to Racing Metro. Fuck.

Cam F
25-01-13, 04:13 PM
Bonnie Scotland :D

25-01-13, 06:52 PM
Johnny Sexton to Racing Metro. Fuck.

Money talks . . . .

Looking forward to 6 Nations! :)

25-01-13, 06:57 PM
Ah, he has nothing left to prove in Ireland either. Well definitely not with Leinster, 3 Heinken Cup in 5 seasons. 3k p/w in France can't be turned down.

25-01-13, 08:09 PM
Is that all he's on?! 150 a year?

25-01-13, 08:42 PM
Epic maths fail

15k pw

26-01-13, 02:51 AM
Sounds like €750k over 2 years

£320k a year sterling sounds better than the 150k I originally thought!

26-01-13, 02:55 AM
I've heard €750k per yer and €1.7m over 2 years so hard to know what it is. Worth moving to Paris for anyhow for sure!

02-02-13, 03:14 PM
Dermy Zebo has some skills doesn't he? Lovely heel flick into his hands

03-02-13, 02:40 PM
Dermy Zebo has some skills doesn't he? Lovely heel flick into his hands

Great start to the comp for us. Looked very fit considering we spent 20 of the 40 mins in the 2nd half down to 14.

03-02-13, 07:32 PM
Italy 23 - 18 France

03-02-13, 07:37 PM
Italy doing France certainly makes things interesting. However knowing France they'll come out and batter everyone now.

04-02-13, 09:57 AM
Didn't see Wales game but tried to tape it - sounds we were wank in 1st half
Gave my tix to a mate as well as on hols but am going up to Scotland and may do Italy

Italy with a hell of a result!

We're England good or Scotland as shit as usual?

04-02-13, 06:41 PM
Zebo quickly becoming a legend. Played a dj set in Cork after the Wales game :D

09-02-13, 05:05 PM
Decent performance by Scotland.

Stuart Hogg is some prospect. Shocked that he's only 20. Not just for his talent but looks in his early 30's

10-02-13, 02:58 PM
Didn't see 1st half but 2nd half Scotland just capitalised on some erratic desperate Italian play. Will be good to see how Scots front up for rest of campaign

Wales :hail: :)

But France are shambles - but I hope they sort it out against England

Ireland win or draw today would be good!

10-02-13, 03:59 PM
This game will be a bruiser, not the game we'd want but lets see.

Eire Abu!!

10-02-13, 04:20 PM
It's scrappy at the moment.

Cian Healy's stamp wasn't nice. Got away with it though!

21-02-13, 08:16 PM
Massive games this wknd!

21-02-13, 09:46 PM
Manu Tuilagi back for England, in for Twelvetrees.

Could be a pivotal change.

22-02-13, 12:25 AM
France have got to turn up . . . I hope!

We need to go to Italy with confidence, get early points, quieten crowd then batter them!

23-02-13, 08:37 PM
Wales game was the worst game of rugby I've seen but we won. Why the fuck we continually kicked it ill never know

France missed their kicks and again played pretty badly

Although a decent performance again by England and that's won them the championship

We can stop them winning grand slam do I hope we can at least do that

So far - the worst quality 6 nations for years. Lions will need a lot of practice/games before tests based on this!

09-03-13, 06:47 PM
Freddie Michalak

09-03-13, 09:12 PM
Chuffed France drew but glad another game Irish should have win!

Was as Murrayfield today - terrible game which was reffed badly but another win for Wales :)

09-03-13, 09:19 PM
Fuck you Redders

The difference in overall size and weight in the teams eventually got the better of us. Michalak was fucking hopeless.

This current French manager seems to be a bit of a lunatic too, can't understand half his decisions.

11-03-13, 03:17 AM
Rather large game in Cardiff next week after England failed to trounce Italy . . . .

15-03-13, 12:50 AM
Big unit this fella!

15-03-13, 02:52 AM

I really hope we beat England Saturday - even if we don't get the 8 points

16-03-13, 08:56 PM

16-03-13, 09:02 PM
Some performance from Wales. Fantastic. :ok:

Opening half was the most exciting 40 of rugby I've seen in a long time.

We stopped Wales getting a Grand Slam but the effort going into that game ruined the rest of the tournament for us. Reduced to playing Back Row on the wing after another 4 bad injuries today. C'est le vie!

If Wales can keep most of that squad together or add to it they will be serious contenders in 2015

16-03-13, 09:27 PM
Seeing England wilt under the pressure really throws the Lions selections up in the air, not one England player stood out today, and Farrell really fluffed his lines under serious pressure. Halfpenny is going to be the Lions kicker, but who's going in as #10? Biggar has done sweet FA all tournament, Farrell has wilted under pressure so that leaves Laidlaw  though I think both Farrell and Laidlaw will go. Going to be interesting who's going to be made captain too, Warburton is in with a shout but he's been immense without the pressure of being captain, Ryan Jones is a candidate too but I don't think he'd be a guaranteed starter so that leaves Robshaw hmmm, some tough decisions for Gatland.

16-03-13, 09:33 PM
If Sexton is fit he'll surely be #10?

16-03-13, 09:35 PM
If Sexton is fit he'll surely be #10?

I was thinking about him but didn't know how long he was injured for and what kind of form he was in. You think many Irish will make it on the Lions squad sheet?

16-03-13, 09:43 PM
In a 37 man squad I reckon we would have:

Brian O'Driscoll
Sean O'Brien
Johnny Sexton
Cian Healy
Donnacha Ryan
Jamie Heaslip (getting grief as a captain but his stats in this 6 Nations are unbelievable)

Rory Best
Mike McCarthy
Conor Murray (not a big fan myself, he's a poor mans Mike Phillips)
Rob Kearney (any other season he'd be guarantee but expect Halfpenny, Goode and Hogg to be the 3 fullbacks)

Depending on recovering from injuries in time:

Tommy Bowe
Gordan D'Arcy
Paul O'Connell - he's a big doubt, 1st game in ages the other day, back is fucked. Fit, Gatland would be a clown not to bring him even without game time.

16-03-13, 09:48 PM
Myself, I'd take Kearney over Goode or Hogg. Most teams have stopped kicking Garryowens as he's the best in the world under the high ball. Plus teams have been cute enough rushing him to his right foot but there's not much between him and Halfpenny on form

16-03-13, 10:07 PM
Halfpenny is one of the few shoe ins for a starting birth, Kearney should go as understudy though as he's versatile too isn't he? From a Welsh point of view i'm expecting a fair few in, with the certs, fitness pending of course being:

Leigh Halfpenny
George North
Alex Cuthbert
Jamie Roberts
Mike Phillips
Gethin Jenkins
Adam Jones
Alun Wyn-Jones
Sam Warburton
Ryan Jones

With the possibles of
Justin Tipuric
Jonathan Davies
Toby Faletau

I personally wouldn't pick more Welsh than that as there are other deserving players in big positions and 13 if the possibles get picked is more than plenty

16-03-13, 10:23 PM
Jonathan Davies should go for sure

His power will be needed.

The 37 should be the biggest toughest bastards or each of the 4 nations. 30 man Royal Rumble for each position, winner goes on the Tour :D

16-03-13, 10:43 PM
That's a cracking idea  would see some pretty boys like Biggar and Farrell refusing to do it though.

Bring whoever you want, you'll flog the Wallabies.

17-03-13, 11:21 AM
Number 10
for me is tough - Sexton has the spot but think he's out for another 6 weeks weeks and thats a lot of time without games

Farrell has been amazing but got shown up yesterday

Bigger is solid and improving

No idea about Scottish out-half!

Full Back
Halfpenny 100%.

Kearney is amazing under high ball but has done very little else in past couple of years.

Goode - average for England - he should be dropped for Brown

Hogg - not seen much of him but maybe 3rd choice

Very difficult - Warburton basically said he doesn't want captaincy any more and plays better without it. Ryan Jones is a great captain but injured for 6-8 weeks

Robshaw - doesn't make great decisions for me and no way he should get open side berth

If O'Driscoll goes and is 1st choice centre he should be Captain IMO

Rory Best is a shoe-in for me - Hibbard has been playing very well and good back up

2 Welsh boys will take some moving

What's wrong with Bowe? Injured?

England wingers done nothing

Visser eligible?! He's good!

Zebo worth a shot as well

Tipuric is a superb player as well and should be getting more starts for Wales

17-03-13, 11:22 AM
Pocock out of the Wallabies is MASSIVE for us as well

17-03-13, 11:23 AM
Is that Jonthon Davies on the right????? What a cracking player he was, lit up Rugby League too when he came across :ok:.

17-03-13, 11:38 AM
yes Ozzy

just watching the build up and game again as was very drunk yesterday! :)

17-03-13, 11:49 AM
Tipuric was superb in the 6 nations, Along with Biggar and Warburton (in patches) oh and George North is deffo going, How can you not pick him!

Warburton may say he dont want the captaincy but I remember the world cup where he shined as captain, The lad can definitely do it!

17-03-13, 04:32 PM
Could be interesting to see a BOD/Roberts partnership in full flow but part of me expects Gatland not to take BOD.

18-03-13, 10:28 PM
BREAKING NEWS: South Wales Police have asked for witness’s to come forward regarding a brutal crime against 15 English men on a recent visit to Cardiff who were robbed of a Grand Slam they had come to collect and also had their chariot badly vandalised during the visit to the Welsh capital?

... Apparently this heinous crime was carried out by a gang of 15 Welsh guys dressed in bright red shirts in broad daylight in front of 75,439 people who gathered around the gang attack and just stood there cheering, clapping and singing hymns and arias as if they were encouraging the gang.

A police spokesmen for the South Wales force said this “This sort of attack is just sickening……..One of the victims was a young lad called Owen Farrell who was on his first trip to Wales and has been traumatised by the whole shocking experience and to make matters even worse his father was forced to watch the entire crime from start to finish and could not lift a finger to protect his son from the sickening and relentless battering meted out by the conspicuously dressed red shirted gang”.

The police spokesman continued, “We are following a number of leads and believe this crimson shirted gang may be linked to a similar attack in Twickenham a year ago”.

30-04-13, 02:38 PM
Lions Squad 2013

Full-backs: Leigh Halfpenny, Stuart Hogg, Rob Kearney

Wings: Tommy Bowe, Alex Cuthbert, Sean Maitland, George North

Centre: Jonathan Davies, Brian O'Driscoll, Jamie Roberts, Manu Tuilagi

Out half: Owen Farrell, Jonny Sexton

Scrum half: Ben Youngs, Conor Murray, Mike Phillips

Props: Dan Cole, Cian Healy, Gethin Jenkins, Adam Jones, Matt Stevens, Mako Vunipola

Second Row: Ian Evans, Richie Gray, Alan Wyn Jones, Paul O'Connell, Geoff Parling

Back Row: Tom Croft, Tobey Faletau, Jamie Heaslip, Dan Lydiate, Sean O'Brien, Justin Tipuric, Sam Warburton (C)

The full breakdown is 15 Welsh, 10 English, 9 Irish and 3 Scots.

30-04-13, 02:40 PM
Very surprised Donnacha Ryan isn't included. And Rory Best is unlucky. The 3 ahead of him aren't much better than him if even.

Richie Gray is lucky since he wasn't as good as last year and got injured towards the end of the 6 Nations. Lot's of fitness issues in that squad tbh

30-04-13, 02:44 PM
Tim Visser very unlucky not to be in there either. The Flying Dutchman is a cracking player

30-04-13, 03:07 PM
Yeah - he seems to have picked a few that are/been injured

Pretty good selection but I would have had Best in (don't know how Tom Youngs got in)

Alun Wyn would be my captain

Maitland lucky to get in as well

01-06-13, 12:59 PM
Lions started their warm up with a game against the Baa Baas and Farrell has proved himself to be an utter twunt already. He nearly got sparked out for his troubles too. If Gatland picks him at 10 for the test matches the Aussies will murder him.

01-06-13, 03:36 PM
Golfing so haven't watched it yet but sounds like Welsh boys did well!

06-06-13, 12:26 AM
Hope the Aussies man up and start putting some full teams out before the tests

Q Reds should be a cracking game

22-06-13, 06:05 PM
Lions 23 Australia 21

Lions out of jail with the 2 missed penalties, especially the last one.

2 penalties against O'Driscoll were just plain wrong.

Great game, hard to make level the performance was given the Aussies are missing so many (before and during the game)

22-06-13, 06:32 PM
5 missed kicks for them

Our scrum was shit (but maybe they just fronted up)
Backs were flat and no creativity
We gifted them 2 tries and lapsed concentration
Phillips too slow ball and bad box kicks but case was poor
We were awful at breakdown
Genia is phenomenal

We should have known before game/learned quickly that ref favours attacking rugby and penalises defending team for trying to get it. That will be different with next weeks ref tho

But fuck it - we won and that's all that matters - good there is so much to work on as well

Think Roberts and Bowe will come into team for next game

22-06-13, 10:55 PM

23-06-13, 10:17 AM
Israel Folau, superstar.

Besides that, nothing caught my eye. Ohhh, the big Lions winger who had a go and scored your 1st try after fielding a kick, wouldn't want to get in his way.

All in all, most of the game was fat blokes rolling around on the ground and no 10s (trying to) kick goals.

23-06-13, 11:58 AM
My Aussie mate reckons Falou was shit at AFL so decided to try Union

Our kicker did fine thanks - maybe if O'Connor didn't bottle it and Beale could kick the grog and not kick his team mates his actual goal kicking might be better!

23-06-13, 12:31 PM
Folau was most definitely shit at AFL mate, possibly the shittest ever to play at the highest level. As gifted as he is physically, no one can play that game without growing up with it.

The AFL only wanted him as a publicity whore/headline grabber to make news for their new Sydney team and to hopefully draw more Pacific Islanders to the game. Failed on both counts.

Anyway, before that, he was 1 of the brightest talents Rugby League has ever seen. The youngest ever to play for The Kangaroos and would no doubt have been 1 of the greats if he had stayed.

Was always going to shine in Rugby, he's a freak.

He's a money grabbing whore though and will sell himself to the highest bidder everytime. Only signed with Rugby NSW for 1 year, c*** could be in Japanese rugby, back in league, or playing for The Harlem Globetrotters next year, nothing would surprise.

23-06-13, 03:05 PM
Respect to AFL guys - proper tough sport knocking lumps out of each other and no sendings off! Just citings!

24-06-13, 01:32 AM
O'Connell out of rest of tour! :(

30-06-13, 04:28 AM
Boring Kicking game last night and the right result. Sets up a great game in Sydney next week.

best part of the game, Falou being piggy backed :D

30-06-13, 10:16 AM
Well deserved win for Aussies

They dicked over us and we're lucky to be at 1-1

Our back line creativity is terrible and we're very poor with ball in hand but keep giving it away which doesn't help

Roberts and Philiips back in for Sydney

IMO we need to really take the game to Aussies next week as current game plan is not working. Would like to see Tipuric/Falateau/O'Brien in back row but Warby did have a good game yesterday

03-07-13, 07:50 AM
Let me get in there before the Irish moan about BOD being dropped. Gatland has picked a tried and trusted pairing at center for the biggest game of the tour you can't begrudge him that, and add to the fact that Davies has arguably been the better of the two players anyway so it would have been harsher for him to have been dropped. BOD is a legend, but this is the first time in 15 years he's been dropped that is just wow. Gatland has made a massive call and will no doubt live and die by his decision, if it works he'll be hailed a legend if it doesn't he'll be forever labelled the man that dropped BOD and lost, but to give him credit he's made the big decisions all tour.

03-07-13, 10:23 AM
O'Driscoll's general play has been at the very top, the main negative, and it's a big one, is he is getting caught coming off his feet the whole time. He's given away 12pts so far which given how tight the games have been, is huge. And all have been for coming off his feet (even if only 1 of those times he actually was technically off his feet).

Gatland has been making big calls indeed. But the fact O'Driscoll is not in the squad at all is not a big call, its just dumb. Especially since its a guy with a hamstring injury replacing him. At least he's had the sense to give O'Brien a start

This is fairly good analysis of Gatland's selection policy so far:

"You just wonder if they got a lucky bag and picked some names out. The Lions won the first Test and made eight changes to their squad. The Wallabies won the second and probably won't make any changes. The Lions lose by one point and there are six changes in the team and three guys on the bench who were nowhere near the team for the second Test.

Let's hope it works out cos even O'Driscoll would rather see the team win without him in it than lose with him in it.

03-07-13, 10:40 AM
Oh I agree he should have been on the bench, but they tried to cover Roberts with Manu, which is a mistake but hopefully it won't mess things up too much. On the other hand Bowe ahead of Cuthbert is again a strange one, as Cuthbert has put points on the board this series where Bowe hasn't has he?

The O'Brien/Tipuric selection must have been the hardest of the lot to be fair as both men have been immense, so that could have gone either way.

03-07-13, 10:49 AM
Bowe only recovered from a broken hand in time for the 2nd test so kinda harsh to compare them. In general Bowe is the better player.

03-07-13, 08:51 PM
Bowe better defender than Cuthbert. Right choice for me

Falateau at last starts! Heaslip has been poor

O'Brien deserves his start - he's been great

Tipuric on bench is good option

Harsh on Youngs getting dropped - he's been awesome. Hibbard needs to throw well

Corbs in for Macca is right call

As is Phillips - Youngs good bench option but Phillips needs to get ball out quicker

J Davies has been great on tout but poor in tests. IMO I would have dropped him for BOD but BOD hasn't done much and is getting pinged for pens. Fuck sentimentality - glad Gats is going for what coaching team think as they see them in training

Alun Wyn is a massive leader and people questioning that don't know the guy

Close game - if we take the game to them and KEEP HOLD OF THE FUCKING BALL we will win (hoping Halfpenny keeps up his form)

If we play like last week (lacked intensity, concentration, creativity) then think we could lose by at least 5-10 points

Up the Lions!

04-07-13, 10:39 AM
O'Driscoll being dropped has gone down worse than Henry's handball

Ah well, we'll see Saturday what happens when you take out your best tackler and expect to improve

05-07-13, 01:42 AM
But Lydiate is playing :)

I listen to Irish Radio Rugby podcast "off the ball" - usually has Keith Wood and others on there

Disgraceful recent episode - you could swear BOD has been the player of the tour. I know they are biased being an Irish radio show but they been spouting shit recently. Heaslip has been poor and Falateau totally deserves his chance

All the knives are out for Gatland and will be a 'told you so' if Lions lose. Will have fuck all to BOD not being there IMO. At the mo we haven't really had a gameplan and not kept ball

I really hope the Lions win - if so - I hope the knockers remain knockers and don't change their tune

IMO I still would have dropped J Davies as think he has had 2 poor tests. At least BOD has tackled decent but done little else (but then they had no fecking ball last wknd)

Keep the ball and we will win!

06-07-13, 01:03 PM
The decision to drop BOD is justified, the whole team played their part in this match.

06-07-13, 02:04 PM
Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie

06-07-13, 02:25 PM
Well I don't think anyone saw that coming!

06-07-13, 07:31 PM
Superb stuff! Great performance from all especially Corbiseiro/O'Brien and halfpenny

Where are those negative knockers now?! :)

07-07-13, 12:49 AM
O'Driscoll being dropped has gone down worse than Henry's handball

Ah well, we'll see Saturday what happens when you take out your best tackler and expect to improve

Do u think they improved Dermo?! :)

07-07-13, 12:53 AM
fecking egg chasers :blah:

07-07-13, 01:59 AM
Personally, I don't give a fuck, good on The Lions and good on their travelling fans.

To tell the truth, I actually think it's hilarious that the Wallabies lost. I can't stand pompous, elitist, private school fucking Rugby wankers carrying on like fuckwits about "the game they play in heaven" and how much better all their players are. They are fucking deluded :D.

It is easily the least popular of the big sports here in Australia and has now fallen behind football at a domestic and international level. I LOVE IT :D.

The only exciting/crowd pulling players they get are from Rugby League and they know it, yet they put shit on League and stare down their noses at it everytime they get a chance.

This is my list of favourite sports ;

Rugby League.
1000s of other sports, especially 1's with hot chicks wearing not much, think jelly wrestling.
Then a few 1000 more.
Rugby Union.

I think its shit. My Dad played it, hated going to watch it, he took my brother and I to a few Test Matches(Campese, Ella brothers, Farr-Jones era), hated it.

But I would push other kids to the ground and step on them to getting a ticket for a game of League or cricket, or to just play a game.

Fucking Rugby wankers, hate them.

Ohhhhhh, and the Sydney Roosters Rugby League Team (my fave team) played at 530pm last night and finished at 730pm. Im not joking when I say they could have stepped off 1 field, then stepped out against The Lions, and put on a better show than those losers wearing Gold.

07-07-13, 04:50 AM
Nice rant Ozzy!

07-07-13, 09:38 AM
Cheers Red :D.

Abridged version, I HATE RUGBY :D.

07-07-13, 06:00 PM
Best game in the world mate

Was back in Wales for the Heineken Cup match - Leinster defence was awesome. Ospreys so many mistakes and knock on's and Leinster smashed us at breakdown.

Pretty dire game to watch - thankfully had free tix! Ospreys with work cut out now to progress through group :(

Same shit for Wales - SA not at best and we should have won that game but so many mistakes and not clinical enough. Deffo a mental issue there as well
Seems like these are warm up games for us in prep for 6 Nations where we play better
Worrying amount of injuries as well
Had to give my ticket away for this wknd game due to change of plan but I'm going to the Aussie game :)

Not seen the other games but good results for Sco and Ire. Sounds like England 2nd half wasn't great

25-11-13, 10:49 AM
Bottled it :(

25-11-13, 01:18 PM
So very very close!

Couldn't see the game but was following it on the most reliable news wire there is - Twitter!

Even Pies Morgan was getting his knickers in a twist with 5 minutes to go!

25-11-13, 05:04 PM
hell of a game though!

31-01-14, 12:28 AM
Six Nations is back - wooooooooooooooooooot!

C'mon Wales! - I'll be going to the France and Scotland games :)

31-01-14, 08:20 PM
Things heard watching six nations in an irish pub
No 12 is so true down my local...

1 ‘F***ing Ireland’s Call’
The most hated song in Irish sport, and when it strikes up, most of the boozer will utter this epithet.

2 ‘The French anthem is great all the same’
It’s the anti-Ireland’s Call.

3 ‘Offside’
We’re pretty sure nobody, not even the players, are fully sure of all the rules, and fans with a Heino in hand certainly don’t. You’ll hear this bellowed at virtually every ruck. And they’ll be right the odd time too, only encouraging them.

4 ‘Forward’
Another constant shout, though more common when playing Southern ‘no honestly it was flat’ Hemisphere sides.

5 ‘Look at that bollocks Chris Ashton’
Definitely heard during England games, often heard while other Six Nations games are on, sometimes heard in the middle of summer with no rugby on at all.

6 ‘I’d kick that’
No, no you wouldn’t

7 ‘Is that our throw in or theirs?’
The more casual fan often forgets the intricacies of kicking to touch, with the distinction between penalties, 22s and clearing kicks lost in the sands between the end of last year’s tournament and this.

8 ‘Heave’
Everyone loves a good maul.

9 ‘We’ll never have another fella like BOD, will we?’

We’ll hear this a lot this year. A LOT

10 ‘Thank f*ck we can’t hear that Hook fella’
The absence of analysis is one benefit of watching in a loud pub.

11 ‘Shhhh’
Silence in the stadium for kickers we get, silence in the pub is still a mystery to us.

12 ‘Will we stay for the second match?’
If it is raining, or Ireland won the first match, the answer is always yes. If we lost the match, or it is nice out, the answer is yes.

13 ‘Ligind’
A term used almost exclusively by Munster-supporting Irish fans, almost exclusively reserved for Munster players on the Irish team.

14 ‘Sure Dave Kearney’s attractive, but he’s no Rob’
The younger of the Kearney brothers has a hard act to follow when it comes to making an impression on the female fans.

15 ‘Ah he’s not going to the TMO for that’
Going to the TMO was once a novel and enjoyable aspect of a rugby game, but it’s starting to become very tiresome, very quickly.

01-02-14, 07:00 PM
Probably a good result. We win but lots to work on for Ireland game. Points diff could end up fucking us but glad to win as so many mistakes and we looked knackered. Generally good defence tho

01-02-14, 10:35 PM
England! :pound:

24-02-14, 11:56 PM
6 Nations will now be won on points. Ireland still favourites though

I'm going to England v Wales and that will be MASSIVE

Was at the Wales v France game at weekend - I was very drunk and remember little of it but great defence from us and we got rub of green with some decisions - France pretty poor though!

Slightly large game - we need a win here! Should be a close game IMO

10-03-14, 11:54 AM
Fucking gutted - we were SHIT

Best team won but we gave them the game like Ireland :(

Might be a few changes now and I just hope we get back to throwing ball around with our back line instead of fucking aimlessly kicking nowhere!

17-06-14, 06:12 AM
MASSIVE hit from the weekend...

17-06-14, 02:42 PM
Great hit!

Disappointing performance from Wales v SA

Haven't seen that or England game - England done really well to be so close to all blacks (especially 1st game) but sounds like 2nd game score was more flattering for England with late tries

Ireland not really pumping the Argies but not easy over there

Scotland nearly lost to CANADA :pound:

18-06-14, 12:36 AM
England were good in the second game, 10/15mins after half-time the All Blacks were unbelievable, one of best periods of rugby i've ever seen. You should find the highlights from it.

Wales were great for 65-70 mins. Sadly it's an 80 min game! NZ showed class in the last 10

Another one slipped away

Six Nations soon - Woot!

I'm going to watch Wales in Italy and Scotland! :tea:

14-02-15, 08:08 PM
2 from 2. Happy enough. Didnt create much though. A poor pass from Sexton to Payne would have meant a very different scoreline but job done. Pascal Pape very lucky not to get a red, think Heaslip will be lucky not to have something broken in his back

15-02-15, 12:55 AM
Took a few views to see it as not accidental.
Could have gone either way.

15-02-15, 01:00 AM
The best compliment I can pay Jonathan Joseph is that he has the hips of League player.

17-02-15, 12:33 AM
I have been drunk for 4 days in Edinburgh - cracking weekend!

Didn't think the game was great - 2 defences good on the day and I still haven't seen why we had the try chalked off and Scots seemed to have quite a few chances to score but honestly never felt we would lose the game. Can't see us doing anything v France or Ireland on current form

Last week my mate said he managed to get some free Wales v England tix at 3pm. I jumped on a train to London, got around London like Jack Bauer on drugs, then a train to Cardiff to arrive 30 mins before kick of - fair play to England 2nd half done a job on us

Ireland are my pick for the Championship now unless we really pick up our game

17-02-15, 12:37 AM

17-02-15, 01:00 AM
Ireland are my pick for the Championship now unless we really pick up our game

Ireland can't score a try when the opposition have 15 men on the field and they're going to win the title?

17-02-15, 01:09 AM
IMO - yes

17-02-15, 02:10 AM
I know it's going to pain everybody else to see it but we will win the Grand Slam. Ireland are a busted flush.

17-02-15, 09:37 AM
I think the injuries have finally opened up Lancaster's eyes to picking the centre combination that may work best for England

England scrum and line out always been superb. Such a massive part of the game that guarantees possession and ours you on front foot (something Wales have struggled with since new scrum laws and our line out always shaky at best!)

England just had some average back play in recent years even though the players are out there

Ford taking his chance really well

Heaslip out for England game is massive but still think Ireland will sneak it at home

17-02-15, 10:22 AM
Decided to get involved in the Six Nations although I have only watched England start poorly but come back in both games to win.

How come there's a gap of 14 days until the next fixtures now? I thought it'd be a every weekend job?

17-02-15, 04:14 PM
Heaslip has 3 cracked vertebrae and will be only out for 4 weeks. I was nearly out for 8 with compressed discs, 8 weeks out of desk job, that's a pretty epic recovery time.

I hope Redders is right but I am with faz on this, I think England will win it. It's a tough spot for us, we could probably do with this season to become a bit more polished, especially in the centre partnership but I can't see us having O'Connell after the World Cup, thankfully Iain Henderson is there as a genuine top class prospect. Having the same centre partnership for nearly a decade always going to take a bit of adjusting too, hence the attack hasn't clicked just yet.

Our scrum has been poor enough so far imo. Have the best maul in the championship though.

18-02-15, 03:05 AM
Cian Healy back will be a big boost for us Dermo

23-02-15, 11:15 AM
Karmichael Hunt.

You guys have never heard of him, but he's a phenom who has represented Australia at Rugby League, was playing 1st grade at 17yo like a champion.

Then switched across to AFL for big dollars, more a media/publicity stunt from the AFL to steal fans from League, but he was somewhat successful and played a handful of 1st team football, 1st person in history to play top level League and AFL.

So then he switches to Union. Big money again, straight into #10 for the Queensland Reds on debut last week. Surely a Wallabies Jersey sometime in the future, no one will ever play League/Union/AFL at the highest level ever, legendary status awaits.

So anyway, 1 week later he's charged by police for supplying cocaine, I think there are about 4 charges in total, he's fucked.

He's gunna go down hard. Not the 1st Australian sports star to do so either.

03-03-15, 01:11 AM
I know it's going to pain everybody else to see it but we will win the Grand Slam. Ireland are a busted flush.

Well, this thread has gone very quiet, hasn't it? :D

What was that Faz?!

I know my rugby boy :)

Haven't watched the games back yet as was at 2 footie games on wknd but for Wales I'll take any kind of win v France

Sounds like Ireland were phenomenal? I was listening to radio and sounds like England had s good 10-20 mins in 2nd half but game was gone by then

And Italy beat the Scots away?! WTF happened in that game?!

03-03-15, 10:18 AM
Ireland were very good on the day, weren't they? England once again starting slow and giving away penalties to let the opponents take a lead. Just this time, we couldn't get back into it as Ireland stayed on top until Sexton went off.

03-03-15, 10:32 AM
Our pantomime villain of an analyst George Hook nailed it the other day when he said "we've become incredibly efficient and effective and whilst the purveyors of open flowing rugby will hate us we won't care while we keep winning". Joe Schmidt's preparation for games is just incredible, every eventuality is prepared for. It's not anti-attacking rugby, insofar as he isn't saying Ireland haven't the talent to play attacking rugby, he just finds a way of making the opposition redundant while keep the scoring board ticking over. It's quite a sight at times.

Johnny Sexton fist pumping like he's scored the winning penalty on 79 minutes when in fact it was the first 3pts of the game just shows how revved up he is getting them before games.

And then there's this stat, Ireland have only lost one of their last 170 rucks and mauls (that wasn't a penalty). One

The one thing that is a worry is that by 60 minutes of this intensity we are sitting ducks if the opposition has anything left in the tank but against France and England we had enough on the scoreboard to deal with it. Be a different approach against Wales I'd say, it's one thing having to defend a lead at home, doing it away from home will be interesting.

03-03-15, 10:57 AM
Ireland are a boring bunch of cheap bastards, rugby union is a shit game.

03-03-15, 07:32 PM
England not exactly playing thrilling stuff though Faz are they?!

TBH - when you look at Super Rugby its crazy the difference between how Southern and Northern hemisphere's look to pla

03-03-15, 09:55 PM
I'd say were were previously playing good stuff. We lost our best back and easily the most reliable man under the high ball, Mike Brown, and then got mugged by the Irish, who are the main culprits behind this rush to aerial ping-pong that we've seen. If we don't drop the thing three times in the first few minutes, they don't have momentum and Rugby Union is a game of momentum. Besides, the game as a whole is dying as a spectacle and what annoys me is that no matter what England do they're negative and no matter what the Irish do they're not. Who started engaging into scrums at an angle and naturally boring in on the tighthead? Who came up with choke tackling (which isn't actually a tackle)? It's the Irish. They're cheap, they cheat and they ALWAYS get away with it.

Good job to them, they mugged a team that was largely second choice in shit conditions by playing the sort of cack rugby football that leads to less tries and a duller game. What annoys me as an England fan is how average Ireland are and yet we played right into their hands. That makes us worse and I thought we would be better than that. We SHOULD be better than that. Good for them that they win but I don't want to hear that England are negative or killing the game. This Ireland side is like England under Jack Rowell but without the excuses of it being a more defensive era.

In a broader "I don't hate Ireland" point, the game is being ruined by the ruck (does it exist in a recognisable form), by the maul (is anybody ever offside anymore?), by the scrum (still an utter mess but for different reasons now), by offside rules and by the culture of bulking up to bulk up. The game's gone. I only watch it now because my wife enjoys it but, for me, the only game for those who love to see people play rugby is Rugby League.

04-03-15, 10:49 AM
Good job to them, they mugged a team that was largely second choice in shit conditions

Second choice team only missing Mike Brown? The conditions were next to perfect on the day.

Playing on the edge of the rules is not the same as cheating, no matter how many times you repeat it.

04-03-15, 12:56 PM
The pre-tournament injury list was lengthy. Essentially we were into the second string before we had begun.

And that's the sort of mealy-mouthed garbage which typifies why the upper classes love the game. "It's not tax evasion if they can't conceive how I'll evade tax." It's still tax evasion.

04-03-15, 01:04 PM
Maybe so, personally I'm from a council housing estate.

Your sporting posts are usually spot on but it reads a drunken sore loser rambling at this stage. Cheating is breaking the rules, Ireland aren't breaking the rules of the game. Maybe the rules need to be changed but if they are within them it's not cheating.

04-03-15, 01:52 PM
This sounds like Ireland in Rugby are like the old Stoke under Pulis. Nobody likes us and we don't care :D

04-03-15, 08:30 PM
Spot on I'd say Mark. Even though I'd rather us be as good as the All-Blacks and dislike us for being that good :D

Was an awesome display and an excellent game all round. It's the first time in a while Sexton had an off game too. I still fancy you guys to put more points on Scotland than England will on France. We won't be putting 50 points on Italy to get close but as long as we win it's big momentum going forward towards the World Cup.

Also, as much as I hate saying this...Wayne Barnes actually had a very good match that involved Wales.....he's usually crap with us :D

15-03-15, 05:57 PM
Helluva game!

Great start from us!

Defence was superb holding out for 20+ mins 2nd half and the pen try was arguable

I'm in Rome next week so at least makes the game interesting!

Agree with Baz that I can't see us sticking a wedge on them and we need to make sure we win the game first but maybe we just go 'gung ho' and throw the ball around

Tough one to call as Scotland may hold firm at home and hopefully France put in an effort in

I think it's still Englands to lose but at least it makes for a fine last wknd

Just a shame that games are at different times so we get least as rage from that point :(

21-03-15, 11:58 PM
A great rugby wknd
But why? Because the teams knew they had to score points!

I find it unbelievable that on the last day teams play separately

Though I think we went out too gung ho in 1st half in Italy
However - how good were we 2nd half?!

Sadly we left gutted that we dropped ball for a try and let 1 slip - if we didn't do that we'd be golden but before game and certainly HT then I would have taken a 41 point win!

Scotland are just completely fucking embarrassing

Fair play to Ireland but they would have ground out a 3 point win in normal circumstances

How the games are spread out on last day is a fucking joke!

IMO - I thought if it wasn't us then England deserved to win

Crazy they stick 50+ on France

. . . . . but that would have never have happened if they didn't know the results - I keep harping back to it!

I think all 3 teams leave on a high note to WC though

Poor tournament until today IMO

22-03-15, 12:03 AM

30-03-15, 09:43 AM
So the tournament came down to who dicked Scotland and Italy the hardest.

30-03-15, 06:46 PM
Still fucked off that the games were played at diff times nad especially the 14 point swing in Wales game in last couple of mins :frusty:

Got all 3 games taped and not watched them yet so will have to try and view this week - can understand the exctement though how it all built up

15-05-15, 09:17 PM

18-09-15, 07:30 PM
"What do you think of Stuart Lancaster as England coach?"

"He's a bit like Liz Taylor's 7th husband, he knows what to do but doesn't know how to make it interesting"

Proper Aussie analysis

18-09-15, 07:51 PM
We're in the group of death this World Cup, and as we've got injuries to two of our better players i'll take beating England and NZ winning the trophy this year please.

18-09-15, 09:01 PM
Not the best start from England but 10 point lead at half time.

Video ref on the Fiji disallowed try was comical but effective.

18-09-15, 09:03 PM
Did I make that about 10 mins of TMO stuff in that half? Far too bloody long for my liking. I expect England to ramp it up in the second half but Fiji will still score a few more points too.

18-09-15, 09:14 PM
Yep. 51 minute half apparently.

18-09-15, 09:31 PM
Yep. 51 minute half apparently.

Second half hasn't been much better haha. Just going to watch the Wales matches if this is the rate the matches are going at.

19-09-15, 12:55 AM
If Fiji didn't sleep for 25 mins and didn't miss at least 5 kicks it would have been a closer game

On the flip side I thought England were not that impressive but main thing is s win

And by God - the lucky fuckers got a bonus point

I think Eng/Wal/Oz can all best each other and these bonus points maybe key

Can't say I have much expectation for us - not played much good rugby for a while now - need 2nd string to thump Uruguay with a bonus and then hopefully perform against England

We looked solid against Italy, great pack and some improvement compared to last few years. Well done to the lads.

How did Hassler play? (Plays for my local team Ospreys)

Very solid from France

I cannot think of any bigger upset in the RWC ever. This is massive stuff. And a phenomenal game too, the heart of the Japanese! wow.

20-09-15, 07:58 PM
Wales were pretty awful today - so many mistakes and we'll get whooped if we play like that against big gunes

And more injuries :frusty:

NZ v Arg was a good watch :ok:

21-09-15, 10:42 AM
Wide open tournament. There for anyone who find some consistency.

If the Aussies put on a show against Fiji you'd have to imagine they would be favourites. South Africa might regroup but it will hit them hard and New Zealand aren't unbeatable. Hard to see England or France winning it on opening performances (home advantage is huge for England though). Too soon to judge Wales and Ireland prospects until a tougher game.

4 days between games for some nations, the attrition rate will be high if the opening round of games are anything to go by. Been an amazingly entertaining opening round.

21-09-15, 12:40 PM
Aussies have been playing well of late and indeed are contenders

If you think about - none of the "big" teams are playing consistently - well - brilliant stuff which as you say leaves things nicely open!

23-09-15, 05:49 PM
Today is going to be one way carnage it seems. That said Japan probably a bit better than the scoreline

23-09-15, 06:29 PM
The English are singing Sweet Chariot at the Aus Vs Fiji game

26-09-15, 09:38 PM
Do Wales think getting the most injuries will get them bonus points or something?!

26-09-15, 10:08 PM
Unreal. Would have been nearly down to asking fans to play

Incredible effort to win with 2 scrum half's, 3 wings, 2 fly half's in the back line for 15 minutes.

26-09-15, 10:20 PM
Incredible stuff. All those injuries and we still somehow beat the English in their own backyard awesome. England caused their own downfall though, taking Youngs and Burgess off changed the game.

With all these injuries we'll be scraping the barrell now surely :( I suppose we got guys like James Hook waiting in the wing, heck even Gavin Henson may get himself a call up at this rate

All is not lost for England though, we usually struggle against Fiji and Australia will be favourites to beat us too, so if England can beat the Aussies it could still go their way.

26-09-15, 10:35 PM
The Irish tv panel made a great point that Wales will be more vulnerable against Fiji due to the emotional come down than the injuries. Not the attrition heavy game the Welsh will have been wanting either. Some serious injuries there this evening

What an amazing game from Australia, played superbly all around the park. Their scrum manshamed the English, Foley had an incredible game, their backs run slick, deep lines. They're just so good, wow.

England out of their own Cup, feel sorry for them and the fans. They lost it vs Wales, a game they should have won. But tonight there is just daylight between both teams.

05-10-15, 08:47 AM
Foley's second try was great. Completely confused the whole English defense.
England didn't play that bad to be fair, just Australia were a class above.
I don't think it was a set move. Foley sees a potential overlap he calls it, and Genia goes for a reverse from the base of the ruck. Foley runs deep so he comes in full speed and immediately sees a single English defender outside of the ruck, and then it's all about the Australian winger coming in inside at the right tempo. Which he does, overlap inside, back to Foley outside and there is nothing England can do. A superb instincive move executed at very high speed, with both Aus backs knowing exactly where to look for each other. A great try.

There are no real regrets on this game for England because Australia really were a class above, all around the pitch - scrum, breakdown, backline.

05-10-15, 08:48 AM
I know the RFU's reasoning for it are sound and actually a good thing long term but wouldn't it be worth allowing foreign based players to play for England in the World Cup (but never Six Nations).

11-10-15, 07:51 PM
Aussie scrum  Permanent beast mode ON

Great win for us against France, gonna come at huge cost as we've lost Paul O'Connell for the rest of the comp and possibly Sexton and O'Mahoney. O'Brien likely to be cited for a punch when the clock was gone red, silly.

11-10-15, 08:04 PM
The Scotland v Samoa first half yesterday was something else. Was like a 7's game at times.

Haven't caught up on today's games yet.

I know the RFU's reasoning for it are sound and actually a good thing long term but wouldn't it be worth allowing foreign based players to play for England in the World Cup (but never Six Nations).

What are the reasons? Only reasons I can come up with in my head are one's that simply aren't sustainable.

They think it will diminish the quality of the Premiership and long term the quality of the national team. Hasn't done Wales any harm

Gatland and the powers that be quickly changed their mind when all our players started playing elsewhere :D

12-10-15, 09:22 AM
Just results in all other teams playing max strength, whilst your own team stagnates.

12-10-15, 09:45 AM
Gatland and the powers that be quickly changed their mind when all our players started playing elsewhere :D

Think there is a loose rule of only picking 2-4 players outside of Wales?

12-10-15, 09:48 AM
Samoa v Scotland was a great game
We shit ourselves with 13 men and didn't use space out wide. Perry poor game management from us there.
However, defence brilliant again and no tries and we've come some way (with depleted squad) to be disappointed not to win when England got dicked on by them
Think we can beat SA but wouldn't see us getting past NZ

Ireland brilliant yesterday and I think players going off galvanised them
Argies won't be easy though

17-10-15, 10:27 AM
It's the quarters this week-end, cannot wait !

Wales have a huge heart but I see the Boks power through, at some point Welsh injuries have to take their toll.

No matter how much I would love us upset the Blackness again, I can't see NZ losing this. There is even a risk of a thumping. But our lads are fired up and you never know what they can pull from their sleeves.

Australia will be without Pocock and Folau, Scotland have 2 players suspended in the forwards. Wallabies will be too strong I think.

Finally Ireland vs Argentina should be very tightly contested, the Argies are better than what most people think and have an exceptional generation of players on the rise. Still I see Ireland making it to the semis for the first time due to pefectly slick game plans. Plus Sexton starting.

17-10-15, 02:16 PM
I lost interest when England were knocked out :D

17-10-15, 08:59 PM
Can't even tell you how fucked off I am after tonight - fucking gifted them the win :frusty: http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/17/4ec725feb725032ef11d61ab600d4ad6.jpg

Fields of Athenry being sung in New Zealand Vs France match, infiltration

17-10-15, 09:23 PM
Dan Carter's pass to Savea in the first half, pure class. Then they go and bring on Sonny Bill

Fields of Athenry being sung in New Zealand Vs France match, infiltration

Olé olé olé now :D

17-10-15, 11:59 PM
What a thumping, oh my God what a thumping... my head hurts. New Zealand are amazing, and we French have really sunk to new lows. Ah well.

18-10-15, 07:32 PM
Scotland, Scotland, Scotland. Had it in their grasp. Thrown the lineout short, maul a few minutes off the clock and then thump it towards touch in Oz 22. Bungled lineout probably has that prop that gave away the penalty feeling like shit. Entertainment wise you'll not find a better game, fantastic stuff.

Ireland were blown away later on by the Argies. They play with some style, a joy to watch in possession. There will be a few what if's from the game on our end. What if we hadn't fumbled with overloads on either side to run in at 17-20 and Madigan's miss to bring it to 23 all. I think psychologically Ireland were between when that was missed followed by Argentina getting a penalty straight after. A tough final score and end to a decent performance in the tournament. We have maybe 5 world class players and 4 of them were watching from the stands, too much change to starting XV and it should early on.

18-10-15, 09:01 PM
Argentina were outstanding, what a game. Much better than Ireland on the day.

Scotland, that really is a shame. The last penalty should have not been given, the Australian scrum-half touches the ball after it has been knocked-on by a Scot, thereby putting the Scottish prop back into play when he grabs the ball. The right call should have been scrum to Australia.

19-10-15, 11:30 PM
Scots should have seen it out by winning kick off and/or winning line out - brilliant game tho!

Argentina were phenomenal!

20-10-15, 09:58 PM
Looking like the old enemies in the final then. Can't see South Africa doing NZ, however if that Argentina turn up against Australia it could be an absolute cracker.

26-10-15, 09:59 PM
Baz called it.

Although the Argies didn't play badly.

Horribly forward pass for the Aussies last try but I guess it didn't make a difference to the result.

Can't see the All Blacks losing.
Unless Bernard Foley has the game of his life!!

26-10-15, 10:17 PM
The best thing about the final will be Nigel Owens being the ref, I wonder who'll be his first victim :D

26-10-15, 11:44 PM

01-11-15, 05:53 PM
What a final, probably the best ever. This game is just great and the All Blacks are pure class, well done to the Aussies for being very determined opponents. Besides the USA in basket-ball, I cannot see any other sport where a country is just so dominating and also so sublimely beautiful to watch. They master the game of rugby in all their aspects, and also look to have plenty of fun on the pitch and overall a great bunch of lads.

01-11-15, 06:02 PM
Yep - great final and must be up there for one of the best world cups - roll on Japan in 4 years time!

25-01-16, 05:42 PM
irish lads - know of any spare Ireland v Wales tickets for the rugger in a couple of weeks? We are 3 tickets shy for our group. I had to join the fecking Irish supporters club to get mine

08-02-16, 04:26 PM
Six Nations started then

Need to re-watch France and Sco v Eng games as was packing the booze back

Neither game seemed to have much quality IMO but the win is most important to start with

Wales game - draw semed fair result. 13-0 down in quick time, then we go ahead and should have seen the game out. But a fucking terrible box kick fucked it up. Then a horrific drop goal attempt that was a bit hasty IMO when a couple more phases could have been chosen. Thrilling end to the game with both teams trying to win it!

My first time in Aviva stadium and looks wonderful from outside. Shocking that it only holds 55k. Major schoolboy error there!

Though the atmosphere in there was rather poor. Seemed very eerie day before the game as well - silence everywhere - maybe people were just nervous being 1st game

Cracking weeknd in Dublin tho - stayed by Ha'penny bridge and had some amazing swigs in Arlington hotel

Then a stranger started talking to us about the game in a posh bar - we didn't know until afterwards and having pictures that is was Michael Flateley! We recognised a couple of retired Welsh Rugby Playters instead in Mike Hall and David Pickering!

Flight back was terrible with the winds. My mates en route to Cardiff had to be diverted to Brum and get a coach back :( :frusty:

Looking forward to re-wathcing the game again! :ok:

14-02-16, 01:29 AM
France scrape by again

Horrendous from Wales 1st half - just about done enough against the Scots but plenty to work on

18-04-16, 04:14 PM

Saracens v Quins at Wembley on Saturday. Had free tickets so why not!

31-05-16, 08:27 PM
Only caught last 15 mins of Wales v England - looks like we were fecking error strewn. Mates said it was opposite of 6 nations - this time decent 1st half and horrific 2nd half

We'll get fecking tuned in NZ if we don't shape up

England have great strength in depth - I reckon they could beat Aussies 3-0 in back yard

11-06-16, 04:25 PM
Australia v England was a cracker. Well deserved England win under new boss... Who is an Aussie: even more sweeter!

12-06-16, 10:36 AM
Wales need to play for 80

I've said England to win 3-0 down there - sounds like a cracking game - didn't see either but looking forward to watching them when back!

13-06-16, 08:53 AM
CJ Stander

26-06-16, 02:32 PM
Australia v England was a cracker. Well deserved England win under new boss... Who is an Aussie: even more sweeter!

Watched it last night at Allianz Arena. 3-0 whitewash, England have been on fire.

26-06-16, 03:39 PM
I predicted a 3-0 whitewash - England have grest strenght in depth at the mo

Sounded like an awesome game though - got it on record to watch. It's been an entertaining series - Aussies must be fuming

NZ were fecking immense against a very poor Wales

We did OK in first 2 tests. They were phenomenal 3rd time around though

Would be interesting to see (generally) how things would be if Southern Hemisphere teams played 3 games v a home nation in UK/Ire - they currently only play 1 off games so 3 series trips "away" in NZ/SA/Oz always in their favour (not in Oz this time tho )

05-02-18, 02:44 PM
Anyone watching the start of the six nations?

Thought England were going to start off with a riot against Italy after a good start. Still, a win is a win!

05-02-18, 02:45 PM
Wad abou' de Irish doe?!

05-02-18, 03:18 PM
But what about WALES against "the best attacking team" in Scotland!

15-04-19, 09:09 PM
Forgot to say - GRAND SLAM here :)

Anyway, my "Region" :puke: have signed Gareth Anscombe - good signing getting Wales fly half - funny thing is we're supposedly skint :pound:

09-08-19, 09:56 AM
Not a bad first NFL touch

09-08-19, 03:28 PM
They'll be expecting that every game now.
Great first touch in a sport though.

09-08-19, 04:06 PM
Made sure to run in under the posts to make the kick easier . . . .

09-08-19, 04:47 PM
Made sure to run in under the posts to make the kick easier . . . . [emoji38]Genuinely thought that as well!!

09-08-19, 10:27 PM
Brilliant stuff!

Pre-World Cup games from this weekend then!

19-08-19, 04:25 PM
Not the best game but one we never looked like losing really

Always a pleasure to beat the English in egg chasing

Number 1 team in the world  :first:

19-09-19, 02:44 PM
We might be world #1 at the minute but I've a feeling this is 2 years too late for this team

19-09-19, 02:46 PM
A shootout in Groups B and D (Italy have fallen well behind the best 9 nations) with Japan and Argentina the dangers in groups A and C.

19-09-19, 03:17 PM
There's an 0102Bet event for this :first: https://champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=13057

19-09-19, 04:17 PM
Looking forwards to trying to tune in where I can!

19-09-19, 11:47 PM
Easy group for Ireland

Prob at least 6 teams have a good shot at winning this

Don't think there is much between any of them at the mo

Looking forward to it

Wales backs coach gets suspended for betting  :tsk:

23-09-19, 09:06 AM
Decent result for us yesterday. Scotland were very poor though. Looked like a team that over trained, very sluggish from the start. A win next Saturday should see us win the group with a likely Quarter final against the Boks. They were very good in the first 20 minutes against the All Blacks but all that effort didn't result in a score and the first try seemed to suck the life out of them for a bit.

23-09-19, 10:58 PM
Scots were gash

OK from Wales today - game won in 30 mins but a poor 2nd half

Maybe good in the fact we had a bonus point sown up but a LOT to work on before the next game v Aussies - whoever finishes 2nd in our grouo will have an 'orrible draw(s)

25-09-19, 05:27 PM
Uruguay beat Fiji :faint:

25-09-19, 08:41 PM
Brilliant for our group - might give us a backup if we lose to Oz and Fiji

Craig Forrest
03-10-19, 03:08 PM
I know we're the second lowest ranked team..... but I feel it's unfair that we had to play NZ followed by South Africa

03-10-19, 11:13 PM
Hassler and Ardron playing?

Both Ex Ospreys players :ok:

Always like Hassler

Craig Forrest
04-10-19, 02:49 PM
Ardron yes, Hassler no

We're not terrible.... but being in a group with NZ, SA, and Italy is always going to be really tough.

04-10-19, 08:40 PM
Indeed - tough group

Thought you might have given Italy more of a game though

Craig Forrest
04-10-19, 10:28 PM
I had hoped so too, but wasn't expecting too much if I'm honest

We'd better have a good showing vs. SA and then beat Namibia.... don't want to finish behind them :D

10-10-19, 08:49 AM
France Vs England and Italy Vs NZ are off. Japan Vs Scotland will be called 6hrs beforehand.

All the noise on Twitter from people giving out are 6000 miles away from a Cat5 Hurricane.

10-10-19, 08:53 AM
The game being called off isn’t the worst thing for England, win the group, rest some legs and should now play the Aussies which is a bit nicer than playing Wales

10-10-19, 10:34 AM
Gutted that it's been postponed but safety comes first, of course!

Shame it won't be re-arranged at all though to conclude the group stage.

10-10-19, 03:48 PM
All the noise on Twitter from people giving out are 6000 miles away from a Cat5 Hurricane.

Imagine if they had made the play in the biggest typhoon of the year. The uproar would have been even bigger!!

10-10-19, 07:39 PM
The game being called off isn’t the worst thing for England, win the group, rest some legs and should now play the Aussies which is a bit nicer than playing Wales

Odd WC for England though

No test yet. Argues giving it a good go before red card decided game

Could work in England favour as fresh but lack of big games could kill them

Think they’ll beat Aussies though. But when Aussies turn up they are excellent

11-10-19, 09:36 AM
Scotland not taking it lying down apparently!!

11-10-19, 10:28 AM
Yikes, I can see why though.

It's a shame they can't just push the games back 24 hours or something. Didn't that happen in the football tournament in Poland?

13-10-19, 02:24 PM
Bet the Scots wish it was called off now!!

14-10-19, 12:43 AM
Brilliant game though!

14-10-19, 04:33 PM
That 2nd Japan try was a thing of beauty

19-10-19, 10:50 AM
Enjoyable game for England this morning, Australia tactics all wrong and very sloppy.

Bring on the semis!

Good luck to the Irish against NZ, gonna need it! :D
