View Full Version : Cool feature - Start game as unemployed

I just noticed a neat little trick - you can in fact start the game as unemployed.

::: You need to have the/any Tapani patch installed to do this :::

Now, start a new game as you usually would, select your preferred settings and leagues and let the game set up. When you get to the add manager screen, give yourself a name and a nationality, but do not pick a team. Instead of picking a team, press the key "page down" on your keyboard.

And the game starts!

The downside is that your inbox isn't working, and the manager options are not available. You will not be notified of any sackings and cannot see the list of available positions, but managers do get sacked. Let the game run for a few months (press "page down" to progress), and then start looking through the leagues. This process can be rather tedious, but check the league tables and the teams current form, do you notice any poor performances?

If you don't find any vacant positions you can always pick any club you like anyway, or you can keep pressing page down for a little longer.

Protip; Newcastle are a prime candidate for you - that John Carver is no good and everybody knows it. He will most likely be sacked before Christmas.

Notice anyone missing from this picture?

Me want!

That application process wasn't completely fair, but screw that. I'm in!

Time to set things straight!

Good luck have fun :ok:

I always like to start unemployed, so that sounds great for me!

Just a question: you can apply for the job or you have to take it?

You can't really apply for jobs either, the job is yours when you click "take control". That's why I look for clubs without managers, to at least try to make it like an application.

I'm pretty sure you can start vanilla 0.68 unemployed. Just enter your name as normal and press cancel when selecting a club. Not 100% certain, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!
