    Save Game Queries

Hi, i try to restore my save file but there is nowhere to be seen in the ''restore game'' option!

I use the odb style march update (without tapani) and it worked fine, until season 2011-12

I would like to figure out what is the problem...

    Any idea ?

    Thank you

what operating system are you using? sometimes on Vista or windows 7, it gets placed in a hidden folder.... if you go into the tutorials in the tech support sub-forum, you'll be able to see how to find the hidden folder.... that might solve your problem....

Your save file, will be in a secret folder called Compatability Files.

If u go to the normal CM01/02 folder, where ur saves normally are in ur Program files.
Above the main window, there is an option to look at compatibility files.
    If u find ur save.
Right Click and then Copy or Cut...

Then press the back button, then paste into ur normal cm01/02 folder, it shud be available to be loaded..

    Very hidden file...

Hello, i did find the hidden file in the appData (i use windows 7), but from there i don't know what to do...

Well, i copy and paste it in the championship manager file but the game did not ''recognised it''

Then i tried the directory from the ''restore game'' option but i had the same results...

    I think i miss something...

    Yes...

App Data is similar to the Compatibility files..

I know this isnt the exact image..

But when u are in your CM folder in program files..

    So
    C:/Program files/Championship manager 0102/

So you can see the cm0102.exe file.

Above the folders is the Compatability files bit.
click that and then move ur saved game file to the proper folder.
By Cutting it, pressing the back button and then paste.

and overwrite when it asks, or click yes to edit system details..

Here is an image of the compatibilty folder bit..

    Save Game Editor Queries

Was looking at GK Save Game Editor and CM Explorer this morning.

Changed a value in CM Explorer but can now no longer look at the player in question on GK Editor.
Have changed it back to what it was in CM Explorer but still can't view the player on GK Editor.

It crashes the game as well. Can't continue on.

Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

me finks u entered an incorrect property value. I would recommend never using two save game editors along side each other, did u make a back up?

    No

Wasn't even planning on making any changes.
Just seeing how the figures differed.
    Silly idea.
Don't suppose a system restore would fix it would it?

    Just cm0102 needs to close.

I changed a player's movement from 9 to 10 in CM Explorer. Just to see how much of a change it would give it in GK because that was showing a value of 227.

CM Explorer still works. I've changed it back to 9 but neither the game or GK are liking it anymore.

"Could not find information about save game."

Hi everyone. Currently playing with the March 2012 update, but as my laptop has major overheating issues, it is prone to the occasional screen freeze. Unfortunately this happened while I was playing CM 01/02 last night, and having loaded it up again today, when I click on the game I was playing when the laptop froze in the "Restore Saved Game" area the message "Could not find information about save game" comes up. The save file has indeed disappeared from the saved game file (C:\Program Files\Championship Manager 01-02\[Saved game name].sav)- what is going on???

Please don't tell me that because my laptop froze while I was playing the game it somehow deleted the saved game off my laptop? Are there any files that my saved game may have disappeared to as a precautionary measure by my laptop to save whatever was running when it crashed? I really hope it is the latter!
I'll be quite distraught if I've lost this saved game... any help anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated! I refuse to believe that simply 'cos my laptop crashed it wiped out my saved game!

Also, apologies for posting this thrad without introducing myself etc- I've had an account on here for a while (I thought!) so I didn't think I needed to go through that formality, but clearly I must have set up a new one at some point. I'm confused myself!

    I'm confused...

... Think your save is gone though!

Try searching your comp for any .sav files
