Dream Team League - Season 14 - October

Ironic cheers were heard at The Cherry Red Records Stadium when the supporters learned that their manager had finally submitted a team sheet for AFC Wimbledon which should allow them to finally see the likes of Kieran Trippier, Simon Mignolet, Terence Kongolo, Lucas Digne and Mousa Dembele for the first time this season as drkshadow1 looks to build on their current 12th place in the Premier League.

    Great stuff as always Mark!

Doncaster 4-1 Cardiff: Simple, big win against the CPU.
Doncaster 3-1 Sheffield Utd: Another simple win against the CPU.
QPR 0-2 Doncaster: More of the same against the CPU.
Doncaster 2-0 Wigan: Dito, see above.
Doncaster 4-2 West Ham: A proper test against evesham's West Ham and we pass it with honours. They scored 2 from 2 shots on target, but our 4 goals makes this a deserved win for us in the EFL Cup.
Doncaster 3-0 West Brom: Easy win against the CPU.

Flawless month for us with 5 easy wins in the league which sees us take top spot five points clear of the chasing pack. Only proper game came against evesham in the EFL Cup and we beat them fair and square. Next month more league games against the AI (yawn) and the EFL Cup game against my former team Man City which will be interesting.

    Great write up again Markus

Another good month, waiting for the bubble to burst. Without checking the save it would appear 3 league wins and a draw with 4 injuries thrown in for good measure! happy to be top after 10 games though, it would appear that the lot beneath us keep beating each other!

    My turn next month then

    Great write up Mark, thanks
A poor month for me overall, not just results but Key injuries and Red cards.
WHU 0:1 Swansea - Gomes sent off after 12 minutes did not help v Redders, spoilt the game for me, gratz Red
Fulham 1:2 WHU - Modric injured after 10 mins so did well to win without our key man
1.FC Koln 0:2 WHU - Smalling injured luckily after 80 mins, the game was won
WHU 1:2 Man City - Miranda sent off after 36 mins, Modric injured again and 2 penalties for Man City, 2nd one for a foul in the air
EFL Cup Doncaster 4:2 WHU - Easy win Ray Gratz, I had only 3 of my 1st 11 playing, GK, RB and a knackered striker who came off at 54 mins
Norwich 0:1 WHU - Even unfit 12 shots, 6 on target it should of been a lot more, but happyy with the 3 points

Great work Mark, a slightly better month for the Owls, but our discipline is shocking!

Brentford 0 - 4 Sheffield Wednesday - Goals from Paulinho, Bakkali, Pucciarelli and Martina had me well on top before Cabral received his marching orders.

Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 0 Cardiff - Battered Cardiff but couldn't score until the 82nd minute when centre back Vukovic rose highest to head home a Bakkali corner.

Milwall 1 - 3 Sheffield Wednesday - Went behind before Forrest equalised. Then Bakkali, Clasie and Smolnikov all went off injured but goals from McQueen then an own goal from a Paulinho header gave us the points.

Sheffield Wednesday 4 - 0 Sheffield United - Won the steel city derby with a convincing display including a hattrick for Pucciarelli and a goal for captain Vormer.

EFL Cup Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 2 (aet) West Brom - Beat in extra time despite going ahead late on through Alan Browne, we were pegged back and lost it. Tired legs to come for the weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday 2 - 2 Watford - Yaya Toure had Watford ahead before Alan Browne and Zakaria Bakkali had us ahead deservedly. Toure again scored to tie it up and our tired team couldn't find a winner without star striker Pucciarelli.

All in all a decent month. Out the cup which I was never going to win anyway but dropping two points only to Watford in the league. Into the top 6 which is my aim. Doncaster look too strong, but at the moment it looks tight between the rest at the top.

    Cracking write up Mark

    WHAT A MONTH FOR SWANS!

We win every game in League and Champions League

    Climbing table nicely!

WIN 1-0 v West Ham - A fine win over the league leaders at the time - certainly helped by them going down to 10 but no arguing after that we deserved the win

WIN 2-1 v Ipswich - shold have been a lot more.

WIN 4-0 v 10 man Besiktas - get outta here!

WIN 2-1 v Derby. We score a last minute goal to get the 3 points but we BATTERED them and the least we deserved. They did fall to 10 men after 72 but we were well in control by then. Defensively we were poor though with Godin/Hummels and Can with 5-4-5 rating

    WIN 4-0 v Nice - easy street

    WIN 3-0 v Leeds - mullered 'em!

Gonna be a tough away League Cup game v Mark next and AJ in league where we always have a battle

    LEAGUE TABLES

Having won in the last fixture of the month, trunky has pushed Redknapp69 into 2nd place though both Swansea and Man Utd now have a game in hand on Portsmouth. It's also worth pointing out that rakanj and Erkifino could still make a difference to the table yet with up to three games in hand on some teams to play! Meanwhile, AJ's season just hasn't got going at all with too many draws whilst AFC Wimbledon are also in the lower half having yet to recover from drkshadow1's absence earlier this season.

GFRay continues to show no sign of slipping up as he has now gone 20 games without a defeat. generalsmuts has asserted his authority in second place with Mark just two points behind. The table is beginning to take shape with dweatherston11 and ebfatz also having much improved months to start catching up as well.

    AWARDS

Premier League Player of the Month - Christian Eriksen (Swansea).
Premier League Young Player of the Month - Renato Sanches (Everton).

There's no Manager of the Month award this month for our DTL bosses as it goes to Fulham. However, there are first player awards for Redknapp69 and rakanj with Christian Eriksen and Renato Sanches picking up the Player and Young Player of the Month awards respectively. Sanches has played every minute in Everton's three games but hadn't registered a goal or assist. Eriksen also played every minute in Swansea's three wins but scored twice as well as setting up one and picking up a Man of the Match award.

Championship Manager of the Month - GFRay (Doncaster).
Championship Player of the Month - Marco Fabian (Leicester).

It will come as no surprise to see GFRay pick up the Manager of the Month award for a second successive month, making it three so far this season for the Doncaster boss who has third time this season who has won all six games this month, scoring 20 goals and conceding just once. Meanwhile, Marco Fabian becomes the first Leicester player to pick up an award after being named Player of the Month after featuring five times, scoring seven, setting up one and being named Man of the Match four times!

Hope we can turn those games in hand into winning performances.

Happy with the domestic effort so far.

    Great work Mark. Thanks.

Massive write up again Mark! Great stuff!

Crystal Palace 0-4 Doncaster: Both teams had 6 shots on target, but where we scored 4 of them, CP scored none. All in all a deserved win.
Nottingham Forest 0-2 Doncaster: Deserved win against the AI.
Man City 1-0 Doncaster: Big game in the EFL Cup 4th round against my former team. The game was very even despite playing against 10 men for most of the 2nd half due to a City red card. Just when we thought we were going into extra time, Berardi shattered our hopes and dreams with a final second winner. Gutted.
Doncaster 3-0 Watford: No contest against the AI.
Bristol City 0-4 Doncaster: Another game against the AI without contest.
Reading 1-4 Doncaster: Another one (DJ Khaled voice).
Doncaster 3-0 Huddersfield: And another one.

Great month again. Won all the league games and only one conceded, but in all fairness they were only AI games. Gutted to lose against Man City, but kind of expected that beforehand. Next month will be very interesting with games against DW's Wednesday, ebz Charlton and Mark's Arsenal.

God.... this month started off so well. Up to fifth then crashed to ninth. It'll be nice to dive into the save and have a look what went wrong.

Mahoosive write up as ever Mark - great detail an insight

Well - month started awful for Swans as Mark's Arsenal dump us out of the League Cup - we seem to be fecking AWFUL in domestic cups

Will be interested to look at the save how that game went!

Otherwise a clean sweep of wins in CL and League

You have me down as 2nd in CL groups from last game we played - not sure if that is the case?

Decent FA Cup draw v Hudders which I would hope we'd win

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh - World Club Cup - would LOVE to win that but could feck us up domestically and a backlog of games

Just as we got ourselves right back up the table as well

But - we do not have the squad strength (I think/hope!) to deal with it

    Massive Xmas period coming up!

Oh for crying out loud. How bad can it get?

Spurs are horrible. Must be my fault. Good thing I'm not sacked yet.

Yeah, that's right. You're 2nd after the first Phase B game, the winner in the other game must have outscored you.

Great write up Mark, well done on the EFL victory.

As predicted, we suffered our first defeats of the season though was expecting to not lose to Chelsea and United! Still...hanging in the Europa...oh how I miss the CL...and top of the league so can't really complain. Losing to Erk in the EFL was a shame but not unexpected. Lets hope everyone is fit for the punishing Christmas lottery!

League Cup aside that was a perfect month for the Blue Army! More than happy with that. Make or break period for me though over Christmas - not having the squad depth to deal with injuries and fatigue will be a struggle.

    Just looked at "da save"

LOSE 2-1 v Mark. Very close game and could have gone either way. Looking at individual performances maybe his players "wanted it more". Gutte to be out early like we always seem to do in domestics cups

WIN 4-1 v Club Brugge - deserved win but maybe a flattering scoreline as they did well. We top the group..........

WIN 3-0 v Plmouth - BATTERED them - could have been more

WIN 1-0 v AJ's Spurs - close game but we had eight out of eight shots on target and only with 10 men so I think we deserved the points

WIN 1-0 v Real Madrid in CL. Another close game - luckily RM couldn't hit a barn door - important 3 points

WIN 4-0 v Hull. Emphatic win that puts us towards the top few places in league

Got some defensive injuries which isn't ideal and we could have up to ELEVN games in Decemeber - so could be make or break for our season!

Cheers Mark. Back into the mix somewhat.

Seems I should always play the players with least appearances?!

In fact, I better check the save first to make sure that that actually did happen!
