Create your own background and Menubar installation

I have read the threads and followed the instructions and either I am stupid or I am slow

    1. I have followed the Tutorial: How to install a Menubar (https://champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=383) and every step went beautiful until I start the game. My new menubar is not shown. Its all same as before.
What am I doig wrong? As said I followed exactly the tutorial and everything was just fine.

    2. I have read the threads with creating just ONE background and this RGN file shit is making me frustrated. First I tried to use the converter in the download section to take a BMP and convert it to a RGN file but all I get out of the converter is a file named just FILE and not RGN format ?????

So I went on reading in the treads about using the picture editor instead to create a RGN file and it all went fine doing so with a BMP file in 800x600.
So next I find a guy who does not find the file in the created Pictures older. It does not save in there. He said on his computer it was saved somewhere else on the computer.

So daaaaaaa, where is it? I am using windows 10. I guess that is the main problem that the damn file gets saved somewhere else on the computer. I cant find it although I search for it.

Anyone knows where the file is located so I can move it to the data folder and rename it to "default_pic.rgn" as describd in the comments.

    Please, I need help

    This detail is really important

    RGN: https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/...st2fLXgWUoSO0w

Another tip is to create a folder called P on the C Drive, then you have a really short directory name to point piced.exe to look for the bitmap files

So do I have to replace the game and match.mbr?

Thanks! Foggia menubar works, but how can I change? I tried to change to AlbinoLeffe menubar, but that did not work...

    Also, how do you reset?

Just delete and replace game.mbr and match.mbr with whatever menubar you wish to use

Deleting both .mbr files will give you no menubar on the side

Guys, i have tried several compatibility modes / run as administrator / 16bit colours but no matter what, i can not manage to open the piced file. It keeps saying..."Unable to initialise the graphics in windowed mode - please ensure that Directx has been installed correctly and that your desktop is in at least 800 x 600 pixel resolution and is in 16 bit colour".
I run a Windows 10 64bit laptop, where the game itself and patched are running just fine...
    Any suggestions?

False alarm guys. Changed my screen's resolution manually without compatibility issues and it worked.

    Hello guys.

I am trying to put a new background but i cannot succeed.
Specifically...Changed an image to .bmp 24-bit with paint, resized to 800x600 and saved to a specific folder in c:\
Opened piced, selected the image and pressed load background bitmap but nothing happened (i do not know if a message should have appeared).
Nevertheless, i went into Pictures folder, unmarked only-reading piced.cfg, opened it with notepad but no relevant image found.

    Any suggestions?

Did you change the directory to where the image is stored?

Yes, i created a new folder in C:\P as you said and put the image into it and found the image through the piced in the specific folder, if that is what you mean.

Yes just copy it, call it default_pic.rgn, copy it to the Data folder

In Game Settings change background changes to OFF
