    October 2018 Preview Save Game

October 2018 Data Update Preview Save

Click the link below to Download the October 2018 Data Update Preview Save

    http://champman0102.co.uk/downloads.php?do=file&id=315

Simply extract the save file from the zip folder and add them to your Championship Manager 01-02 folder. This won't work with saturn's v4 or v5 patch unfortunately. But here's a tutorial for installing multiple databases for those who want to help but also want to keep their current setup.

We are in the home straight for getting the October 2018 data update out but we need your help too This a great community and hopefully we will get the great response we got here, here, here, here, here, here and here

    What we want from you:

    - Missing players
    - - Clubs are limited to 50 players so we can't every youngster to the database. There is no need to fill out each club with 50 players either
    - Missed transfers
    - Missed loans (we don't add loans that last less than 3 months unless they are to the end of the season. So month loan long/emergency aren't added)
    - Incorrect positions
    - - 2 games in one position in 2 years for a regular doesn't warrant that position showing
    - - - this site is great to help out too even 433 is misrepresented on it http://www.football-lineups.com/
    - Incorrect staff - managers, coaches, scouts, physio's, chairmen
    - Injuries - none less than 3 months though
    - Duplicate players - there are a lot in the database at the minute.

What is still outstanding or not in the preview save:

    - Correcting teams with 50 players (or 48 where there is a linked B team)
    - - Future transfers from reserve teams
    - International Caps
    - Player Histories
    - Finding duplicates
    - Removing players with common name 'Giorgos Ismael'
    - Testing the database
    - Correcting line-ups
    - Correcting positions
    - Adjusting players Current Ability (overated/underated)

This save was loaded on a just the 3.9.68 patch with no Tapani patch so it starts in 2001/02 and without the additions of a Tapani patch. Nor with the renaming or saturn's patches. We really just want data from you guys are we'll be doing plenty of testing ourselves over the next few weeks. If you are unsure what a data update actually changes http://champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=3589

    Preview Save thread closes: 11/10/18

Full Data Update release date: 21/10/18

No, he's still only a trialist there. (This is a save, not a DB)

I guess he could be a freebie in the DB. Pace, Acc, Str, Jum and little else

    Hi guys,

Been a long while since I posted here. Just downloaded the save game...outstanding as always.

Here's my input if deemed useful:

    Leeds United:

    - Bailey Peacock-Farrel: Left footed, not 2 footed. He is 6'4" so his jumping stat should reflect that.
    - Gaetano Berardi: Bravery and workrate sshowing as 9 and 11 respectively. Imo each should be 15+.
    - Tom Pearce: Physical stats such as pace, acceleration, stamina should be fairly high. Jumping showing a mere 5, but at over 180cm this should be higher.
    - Pontus Jansson: Jumping showing 12. Should be at least 15 as he is very commanding in the air. Influence needs raising from 8 to around 14.
    - Paudie O'Connor: Showing very low values across most areas. I'm guessing this is due to there being no values input. Fairly aggressive, strong and decent in the air.
    - Conor Shaughnessy: Strength and jumping should be significantly higher than 10 and 8 respectively. Stands 191cm.
    - Lewis Baker: (currently on loan from Chelsea) 2 footed player. Takes set pieces with either foot. Box-to-box player. Should be MC instead of DMC.
    - Eunan O'Kane: Overall stats need reducing as he has been overrated in the game. Currently out with a broken leg. Right footed instead of left.
    - Mateusz Klich: Needs an overhaul. Being played as an advanced midfielder. Good going forward and chips in with goals. Good at long shots. Fairly aggressive, tidy passer, hard working team player. At 183cm his jumping stat needs improving.
    - Jay-Roy Grot: Needs reducing overall. Technically limited player.
    - Hadi Sacko: Right footed. Poor vision and crossing.
    - Samu Saiz: Plays primarily as AMC. Not AM/FLC. His jumping stat needs reducing from 14 as he is only 174cm. Stamina needs increasing from 12. Best player in the Leeds squad.
    - Adam Forshaw: Currently showing as AMC but plays mainly as DMC. Leadership needs increasing from 6 to someting more mid-range.
    - Kemar Roofe: First choice striker at the club. Work rate should be quite high. Improvements needed to agility, movement and dribbling.
    - Patrick Bamford: Showing 11 months out with cruciate ligament damage, whereas his injury shoudn't keep him out for 3 months at most.
    - Caleb Ekuban: Slightly overrated. His movement needs reducing, as well as his jumping.
    - Mallik Wilks: Underrated in the game for some time. Needs significant boosts to his speed and strength. Left footed player who can play on the wing as well as up front.
    - Kun Temenuzhkov: Highly rated former Barcelona B and Benfica starlet. No real data to go on.
    - Ryan Edmondson: Work rate and determination should be improved.
    - Kalvin Phillips: Most improved player at the club since last season. First choice holding midfielder. Hard working, strong, brave, aggressive. Passing and vision should relfect higher stats.
    - Pascal Struijk: Left footed. Jumping needs to be quite high as he is 190cm.
    - Oriol Rey: Speed and acceleration showing 3 and 4 respectively. Seen him a couple of times and believe those stats should be mid-range.
    - Aapo Halme: Injury prone. Jumping stat needs improving as he is 196cm.
    - Luke Ayling: Influence stat needs increasing. Currently vice captain behind Liam Cooper.
    - Jamal Blackman: (currently on loan from Chelsea). Jumping stat needs to be very high as he is 199cm.
    - Andrea Radrizzani: Chairman of Leeds United. Current stats seem to reflect those of previous chairman. Interference showing 20. Should be closer to 7. Man handling should be very good.
    - Marcelo Bielsa: Preferred formation 4-1-4-1. Short passing. Pressing. Attacking.
    - Elland Road: Capacity needs to be reduced to 37,890. Average attendance should be 31,521.
    - Isaiah Brown: Should be on a season long loan at Leeds. Currently injured until December with knee ligament damage.
    - Jack Harrison: Should be on a season long loan from Man City. Overall speed should be higher. Jumping should be lower than the 8 currently shown.
    - Jordan Stevens: MRC. Dob 25.03.2000. Contract expiry 30.06.2019. Played 2017/18 season with Forest Green Rovers. 9 games, 0 goals. Right footed.
    - Luke Murphy: Still at the club and on season long loan at Bolton Wanderers. Into the last year of his contract.
    - Hugo Diaz: DC. Height 184cm. Dob 09.02.1997. Previously played for Deportivo La Coruna B (0 games, 0 goals) in 2016/17. Spent 2017/18 on loan at Silva SD (no playing data). Played 1 game, 0 goals in 2017/18 for Leeds.
    - Craig Dean: Currently a coach at Oxford. Should be scout at Leeds.
    - Bobby Kamwa: Cameroon/England. Dob 18.03.2000. Height 168cm. MC. Right footed. Very strong and physical. Decent technical attributes. Contract expires 30.06.2020.
    - Bryce Hossanah: England. Dob 08.04.1999. DR. Signed 01.07.2017 from Crysta Palace. Contract expires 30.06.2020. Right footed.
    - Club colours changed: Home kit is Blue on White. Away is White on Dark Blue.

    - Ronaldo Vieira: (Sampdoria) Purely DMC (not DMRC). Physical, aggressive, hardworking team player. Consistent and ok in the air. Doesn't offer much going forward. Good PK taker as displayed last season in League Cup and in the recent Toulon tournament with England.
    - Massimo Cellino: Chairman of Brescia. Interference 20. Man management very poor. Patience 1.
    - Aden Flint: (Middlesbrough) His bravery is showing 9 (remember this from previous update), whereas this stat should be significantly increased.
    - Lewis Cook: (Bournemouth) Technique needs improving as does leadership.
    - Alex Mowatt: (Barnsley) Slower in real life than shown in the game. Technique, stamina and work rate need reducing slightly.
    - Pierre-Michel Lasogga: Work rate should be reduced from 13 to around 8. Jumping currently showing 18. 14 would be more accurate. Influence needs reducing drastically from 15.

That's all I got for now. Cheers.

First time previewing a data update, so before I list anything I see I thought I would get a question out of the way.

Are squad numbers something that gets looked at? I know its minor, thought I would ask anyway.

Emile Smith Rowe is duplicated. Once for Arsenal and then for the U23's

Most of them should be ok. Most of the wrong ones may depend on the game not supporting squad numbers greater than 50, and we can't do anything about that.

Anyway, every little bit helps... so feel free to review everything you like and enjoy.

    Thanks a lot

    Some omissions I found:

Lionel Scaloni has 7 caps for Argentina (so only his Argentinian nationality should show)
Marcelo Brozovic: rather MC or even DM C than AMC (always plays directly in front of the defence at Inter)
Daniele De Rossi en Lucas Biglia: mainly DMC
    Maxime Gonalons: loaned to Sevilla
Piotr Zielinski: AM LC (plays on left wing since Napoli shifted to a 4-4-2)
Lorenzo Insigne: F LC (plays as a striker in the 4-4-2 and has done this in the past also)
Dries Mertens: FRLC (always plays as a winger for Belgium)
    Dennis Praet: rather AMLC
Federico Bernardeschi: AM/FRC (plays often behind the strikers in a central role)
Jorge Jésus is manager of Al-Hilal
Cesare Prandelli is a free agent (replaced by Ivan Jovanovic at Al-Nasr)
Manager of Nantes is Miguel Cardoso, not Vahid Halilhodzic
Frank Vercauteren is manager of Al-Batin
    Higher reputation for Marcelo Bielsa?
Srecko Katanec is manager of Iraq
Franky van der Elst: assistent manager KV Oostende (chairman is Peter Callant btw)
Chairman of Sint-Truiden is not Roland Duchatelet but David Meekers (1966)
Chairman of KV Mechelen is not Willy van den Wyngaert but Johan Timmermans (19.04.1957)
Chairman of KRC Genk is not Herbert Houben but Peter Croonen (26.08.1969)
Vincent Mannaert is not chairman but general manager at Club Brugge. Chairman is Bart Verhaeghe (1965, lots of ambition, interference, your typical president;-))
Laszlo Bölöni's birth year is 1953 (so should be 1936 in the update)
Chairman of Union SG is Alex Muzio
Michy Batshuayi is on loan at Valencia

In general I have the impression that player's positions are less flexible (a lot of AM/FR and AM/FL) than in previous updates, while IRL those players often also operate in the center, but maybe this is just a quick impression. Same goes for DL or DR that IRL often also operate on the other flank.

    Great work, guys!

Ok cool. In that case, Arsenal's squad numbers could do with a looking at.

Nketiah #1 Ozil #12 Auba #10 Cech #50, just some examples at whats being shown.

Also Arthur Onkonkwo (Arsenal R) is in game as a MR he is infact a Goalkeeper.

Excellent work as always, just a few points I've noticed so far:

    Arsenal
Laurent Koscielny - expected to be back in full training in November - currently 11 months
Alexandre Lacazette - FC to SC - tried playing out wide, didn’t last a full half. Always plays as furthest forward.
Granit Xhaka - should be just left footed, his right is weak.
Send Kolasinac - not played centrally at all.
Cohen Bramall - is rapid, at least 18’s for Acceleration and Pace
Changes to Physios - now is James Haycock, Takahiro Yamamoto & Gary O’Driscoll (Club Doctor)

    Barnsley
Kieffer Moore - not a defender just a striker, excellent strength (17), heading (18) and finishing (15) for League 1 level
Mamadou Thiam - has been playing at left midfield, his strengths are pace (16) strength (14) and long shots (14), he is however a little easy to get the ball off, and his balance isn’t brilliant.
Kenny Dougall - just a DM
Mike-Steven Bahre - can play all along the AM line, wide or centrally
Shaun Tuton - transferred to Spennymoor Town
    Chairman now is Paul Conway
Directors: Ms Grace Hung, Mr Neerave Parekh, Mr James Cryne
    Coaches; Christopher Stern, John Vaughan

    Real Madrid
Rafa Varane - has he ever played at Sweeper?

    PSG
Thomas Meunier - free scoring (for a defender) defender, increasing in finishing to 15?

    Morecambe

Niall Maher no longer players for the club, he is now at Stourbridge

Mark Halstead is listed as one of the teams three star players yet in real life he's the backup goalkeeper. Roche and Mandeville are the other two which are fine but a refinement of abilities so Halstead isn't this good would be needed. Personally I'd say Sam Lavelle would be a good candidate to replace him.

    James Sinclair should be a D /DMRC

    Tyler Brownsword is a DC

Liam Mandeville should be an AM / FRC

Rhys Oates should be an AM / FRC

Rhys Oates shouldn't be available for loan

Carlos Mendes Gomes is missing from the squad. Details of him can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Mendes_Gomes but his position isn't correct. He's an AMRLC. Not sure on date of birth but he is 19. Carlos is his first name, Mendes Gomes his surname (no hyphen)

Joe Piggott missing from the squad. He is on loan from Wigan until January.

Liam Mandeville and Josef Yarney loan deals should only be until January.

Adam Campbells loan to Carlisle should only be until January.

Not sure how you would structure this in the game but the owners of the club are now Colin Goldring and Jason Whittingham. Peter McGuigan is still the chairman but he reports to them. Other directors are Graham Howse, Rod Taylor, David Brockbank and Mike Hinchcliffe.

Training facilities should be knocked down a bit as they are worse than adequate and the finances are also worse than ok.

    Other Bits

I noticed that Sam Vokes is in the England squad. Obviously he's Welsh!

The kit colours for Salford City are wrong. Should be red background and white text at home. This has been like this for a number of releases now and always bugged me :-). Their away kit should be white background and black text.

Could we also update Leeds whilst we are at it? Should be blue text, not gold.

Aston Villa to sky blue text on their home kit too.

Stevenage should have their home kit colours flipped so it's white background and red text.

MK Dons home text colour should be gold.

Here's my two pence. Both are different types of players in their own right. Jorginho is a passer, he's what has got Chelsea ticking this season. He broke the premier league passing record in the 0-0 draw with West Ham. Torreira on the other hand is a combative midfielder who will put his body on the line to win that ball back. Did anyone see him trying to tackle with his head.

With all that being said Jorginho's technicals could do with a buff especially passing, balanceand agility should also be improved.

Torreira on the other hand could see a decrease in acceleration and pace. He was Arsenals slowest during preseason tests. One buff I would make is work rate. Probably the hardest worker in the team.

Vitória de Setúbal's president name is Vítor Hugo Valente and he was born in 1961.

Octavio Machado and Virgilo Lopes are no longer part of Sporting's board. Hugo Viana is the sports director, Frederico Varandas who was their physio is the chairman now.

Miguel Cardoso was sacked from Nantes? can't find any news that says he was sacked.
