Actually, we eliminated them from the Cup once after penalty shoot-outs and we won the Johan Cruijff schaal once after penalty shoot-outs as well, but those two games officially count as draws.

Vente is not a favourite of all the fans.

That was an important win and while it might not be a 2 horse race yet, Ajax have a lot to do now.
PSV still look mighty strong. That will be a crucial head-to-head

PSV are doing remarkably well, but we should be able to win the League again.

However, Europe is a different matter. This season we are playing without Vente and without Karsdorp in Europe because they are ineligible for European games.

However, next season will be the final season, with all guns blazing in our European campaign and then the 2026 World Cup in the Summer!

Nice win, but sneaky PSV took a close top spot. Hopefully continue on and you'll yo-yo to top again

MAHOOSIVE win and well deserved - Ajax toothless in attack!

    Vente proving the doubters wrong

Time to kick on now with that - surely PSV will have to drop soon

Burger braces gives us 2-0 win over TOP Oss

Last night we played our game in hand without the injured Justin Bijlow and we defeated TOP Oss, but PSV also won their game in hand.

We had little difficulty defeating TOP Oss. We played well as a team and Karsdorp's forward runs were an impressive sight and when Calor sent hem to the floor with a hard tackle a penalty was awarded and Burger scored from the spot.

And just before the break Bannis hit the ball towards Idrissi in the area, Burger made himself available for the cutback and when Idrissi laid the ball to him Burger found himself in the open and scored the clinching goal as well!

The second half was uneventful and less interesting, but all that mattered was that the three points were in the bag.

    Summary
A comfortable win with Wouter Burger showing his class - and netting a brace! - and with Sofyan Amrabat playing well alongside Burger as central midfielder.
    Spoiler!

There is a relatively short break now and then February will come with its two games against Napoli and also our home game against Ajax!

Yes, the Cup game is against a First Division side and then it's TOP Oss again, at home this time, but after that....

The gap behind the top three seems even bigger than usual, with PSV and Ajax starting better than they have in recent seasons.

Yes, that seems a bit odd after all those players who left. They may still implode but they did buy some good players in this transfer window.

    An easy KNVB Cup win

While we comfortably qualified for the next round by defeating First Division club Roda JC last night, Ajax were eliminated by Vitesse after a penalty shootout!

We played with Verdonk, Kokcü, Amrabat and Bozeník because we wanted to give our new signings game time. And this worked out well.

Just like against TOP Oss we decided the game in the first half. Bozeník got his first goal for Feyenoord with the assist from Amrabat and Idrissi scored our second goal of the day with a tap-in after after a fierce shot by Bozeník. Centen pushed the ball away and Idrissi was first to the rebound. And so we were 2-0 up at half-time.

And in the second half, after the unfortunate Calvin Verdonk had gone off injured, Amrabat also scored with a tap-in after Centen had pushed away a header from Bozeník.

    Summary
An easy win over a mediocre First Division side. Idrissi was named Man of the Match, but Bozeník made a great impression on our fans and on our staff. However, the most important thing last night was the shock elimination of Ajax by Vitesse after the penalty shootout!
    Spoiler!

All in all, a good evening. And the Quarter Final draw turned out to be rather interesting as well. After the match some of us had commented that they would not mind playing Jong Ajax again in the Quarter Final, but fate decided differently...
    Spoiler!

Very nice win and great for minutes for squad players - never tempted to give Bijlow a rest?

    Shock for Ajax!

Bitch of a draw - come through that and favourites to win it

Bijlow (only this month breaking through into the first team IRL) was injured when we played TOP Oss. Since he was fit again, he played again. But perhaps Ten Hove should get more game time?

Was Ten Hove first choice in real life then this season?

Is Bijlow potentially as good as he is in CM?!

Kenneth Vermeer was. See also the start of this story. Bijlow is considered by some pundits to become the goalkeeper of the Dutch national team one day.

Another 2-0 win over TOP Oss

We had to play TOP Oss for the second time in the space of a few weeks and just like before the break, when Burger netted his brace, we beat our opponents 2-0 last night.

Because Chong and Idrissi are both suspended and Summerville is injured (and Hansson has just left the club!) we were forced to start with Haps as left winger and Sinisterra as right winger and this may be the reason that we did not dominate the match nearly as much as we did in the away game.

Nevertheless, it did not take Amrabat very long to find the net with a fierce shot after a great cross from Rick Karsdorp who is keeping Janmaat on the bench since his return to De Kuip. And so we were 1-0 up at half-time.

We did have to wait quite a long time for the clinching goal, though. It eventually came thanks to our striker duo. Bannis centered the ball and Vente scored a cracking header - his 18th goal already from just 19 appearances!

    Summary
A decent team performance but we did not exactly dazzle the fans. Nevertheless, individual class - and, of course, the home advantage - made the difference last night.
    Spoiler!

Our rivals won their games as well. There were red cards in both games and as a result PSV had an easy evening while Ajax struggled to win their game with ten men - but win they did.

We have an extremely challenging fixture list this month and Vente and Karsdorp are both ineligible for our European games, but to make matters worse Bannis was injured in training and it looks as if he will be out of action for a full month!

This means that we shall have to play Napoli twice without Dylan Vente and Naoufal Bannis; and we shall have to play Ajax and PSV without Bannis as well.

Yeah, Bózeník will have to do it in a one-striker formation with Wehrmann as defensive midfielder. Next season will be easier with more players eligible for European football. Currently three players are ineligible for European games.

    Bózeník to play against Napoli

Because Dylan Vente is ineligible for European football and Naoufal Bannis is out with a groin strain we will play SSC Napoli tonight with Róbert Boženík as lone striker.

Rick Karsdorp is also not eligible for European games, so Daryl Janmaat will start as right defender again.

And, finally, Wijnaldum will pay as central midfielder. Because of his wide experience our player/coach will start in most, if not all, of our important games.

Our opponents will play a 4-5-1 formation with Pietro Pellegri as striker and the likes of Depay and Denis Suárez as attacking midfielders!

And they will start with none other than Nathan Aké as central defender!

Bannis was out with a broken toe for two weeks at the start of this season. Then a twisted knee (three weeks in november) and in December a broken toe again (two weeks).
