Big tackling from Big E! Keep up ya form fella as I'm ready to take my chance otherwise

100% pass completion rate and 2 out 3 headers won - how the feck do I get a "6" for that!

Pedro and DW the solid clean sheet getting defensive partnership the Vipers have been looking for!!?? Well, a 6 each means we might be harshly dropped! Another good win and AJ the man of the moment.

    Hornblower in storming form.

So no chance for me next game. I'll stay with my feet up at home.

Good win lads. Did what we needed and took the foot off the gas.

Don't worry pal your time will come!

This form of mine is too good to be true. I'm sure I'll end up breaking my leg soon or even worse get a 4 and a two week fine

AWOL: Dom, GFRay, drkshadow1, Dermotron, BobMem, Felix, jacobclear, dl8860.
    Unavailable: pyromyst (2 months).

    Previous Results
    Season 5 - Championship - A - Reading - 4:2 (Redknapp69 x2, AJ, London35).

After only five players had been AWOL for the last match, the narrow win over Rotherham, the Gaffer was disappointed to see that number increase to eight with Dom, drkshadow1 and Dermotron joining the usual five absentees. It has cost Dermotron the chance of a start as he was all set to replace dweatherston11 after registering a 6 last time out, along with Dom, PedroM, evesham and riise.

Fortunately for the Vipers, samsami was available to replace Dom at right-back, as were Effiong unmarked!, Spectral and London35. dweatherston11 gets to keep his place along with ZanSnake who was due for a rest as the only player not to recover from the effort of the Rotherham game.

riise and PedroM do remain on the bench though, with gazzas1uk and ebfatz joining the matchday squad. That leaves evesham to join Kowalinho and the injured pyromyst in the stands.

    KICK OFF!
5 - SAVED! Barrow floats a cross into the box and Bodvarsson beats Effiong unmarked! to it with a header that's parried away by Erkifino.
7 - CHANGE! A blow for the Vipers as dweatherston11 picks up an injury and is forced off the pitch. As literally the only defender on the bench, PedroM comes on to play on the left-side of the defence.
9 - OVER! Bodvarsson leaves PedroM chasing as he turns on the ball before hitting a fierce shot that goes over the bar.
12 - SAVED! Erkifino gathers a fierce shot from Gunter safely.
14 - CARD! hornbloweroafc slides through Meyler to receive a yellow card.
16 - SAVED! AJ gets free in the area for a half-volley that's saved well by Mannone.
21 - WIDE! Spectral looks for Big E who sees Mannone off his line and attempts a long range chip but it goes well wide.
23 - SAVED! Gunter aims a cross at the near post and Meyler beats Spectral with a header that's turned behind by Erkifino.
38 - SAVED! AJ takes on O'Shea and shoots at goal but it's saved well by Mannone.
39 - CARD! Another booking for the Vipers as Meyler is fouled again, this time from a push by Big E.
41 - SAVED! Big E chips the ball into the box and ZanSnake drives it at goal but Mannone pushes it out.
43 - PENALTY! Erkifino clips the feet of David Edwards in the area.
43 - GOAL! Edwards runs up to take it and sends Erkifino the wrong way to score.
    HALF-TIME!
48 - WIDE! Aluko meets a cross from Edwards and unleashes a volley that goes wide.
51 - SAVED! Bodvarsson heads a cross from Ezatolahi at goal but Erkifino saves it.
55 - CHANGE! A double change for the Vipers as they seek an equaliser, with riise and Redknapp69 coming on for London35 and Big E.
57 - SAVED! Almost an immediate goal for Redknapp69 who beats Meyler then brings the ball forward before shooting a shot that's beaten away by Mannone.
60 - DISALLOWED! trunky crosses the ball from the left and ZanSnake has a great opportunity to score. He does but it's then flagged for offside!
62 - DENIED! A penalty shout for Reading is turned down after he appeared be to holding Meyler.
62 - CHANGE! A double change for Reading now as Aluko and Ezatolahi come off for Kelly and Sims.
70 - SAVED! Kelly takes a cross from O'Shea on the bounce and shoots but Erkifino gets his body behind it.
70 - DENIED! Another penalty shout turned down, this time for the Vipers as AJ crosses to the near post and ZanSnake is sent to the floor with a hard tackle by Andresson.
71 - SAVED! Redknapp69 hits one on target but Mannone parried it wide. AJ has the chance to follow it in but unbelievably puts it wide!
79 - SAVED! Another save from Mannone as AJ is denied once more after skipping his way past Edwards and Andresson before shooting.
90 - SAVED! AJ is denied yet again after connecting with riise's cross but seeing Mannone push it away.
    FULL-TIME!

After a quiet first half, the Vipers tried their best to fight their way back in with more shots at goal and on target than Reading but unable to beat the Man of the Match.

NEXT UP - Back in action in four days time once more, against Norwich at home.

Sorry lads, we should've done better. Me in particular. A point would've been no more than deserved. Alas. Bring on the next game and we'll give m a good drubbing..

Erk gave the pen away on purpose, tried to make himself a hero

Not a vintage performance but always unlucky when opposition 'keeper gets MOM!

Poor result especially at home, although sounds like we should have got a point int he second half.

Got a 7 but not sure how as I was hardly involved. I think them playing a defensive midfielder kept me quiet.

Lets bounceback in the next game!

  21. #1821
    unlucky lads, never a penalty
gazzas back at DMC so I'm confident we'll beat Norwich.
    thanks Mark

Pffff serious allegations. Even though I conceded I was only bested ratingswise by their keeper.

Let's not gloss a turd here lads. Only 4 players set to keep their spot for the next one means we were piss poor.

Redders coming on in the 55th minute and having more shots than the rest of the team combined (bar AJ) doesn't spell decent performance in my book.

So is it everyone else who was poor or Red and AJ poor for not finishing the chances? I'll let you decide!

Mannone has had a worldy but we'd have done well to get a point.

    Back to my bench!
