    U is for The Undertones

We produce a lot of great music on this small island. This track sounds so late 90s / early 00s it's hard to believe it's from 1977

Proper madlad music out of Lebanon... the guy was only 19 when he started composing this kind of music during the Lebanese civil war... some of the old Middle Eastern guys in my neighbourhood love airing this in their smokeshops...

A is for Ash - Girl from Mars

Underappreciated in their time. Underappreciated now. Their sound probably, Tim Wheeler's distinctive voice and their song topics probably took from some pretty decent lyrics (overall)

EDIT FOR COMMENTARY: Classic song that always gets me smiley when under the weather. Always find it funny people think it's Bob Marley on YouTube etc,

EDITED FOR COMMENTARY: A song that stuck from when i was younger, good album to be fair. Not heard much from him since, but still a tune to belt out now and again!

I got very drunk in San Francisco with Billy Gould quite a few years ago. He had no idea who I was, nor I he, until he told me. We sang this song on the karaoke. He can't sing. Nor can I.

Really loved this song but I chose it mainly for it's obscure music video. Its a bit low budget to be kind

    Great song nonetheless

Cannot say I have heard this song much but hey - the video is ok

Did like a few of her tunes back in the day - I think was influenced by her looks though

K for Kauan, a Russian band from Chelyabinsk beyond the Ural mountains, who for some reason sing in Finnish. Originally a metal band they've mostly made post rock like this beautiful piece. I absolutely love little piano melody that repeats at the end.

Any Wes Anderson fans around ? Video is clearly a tribute to "Moonrise Kingdom" - cute movie about innocence and play...

Distinct lack of N artists on my phone, so going down the nostalgia route once more with Noah and the Whale. This surely their most reognisable song, used to listen to the album it was on (Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down) A LOT. Shocked and saddened to learn that it's 11 years old
