Decent team AJ, bit confusing how Ronaldinho made your all time team but not this one though.

I loved Ronaldinho and how he played for Barca, but Romario was sooooo good @ WC98!!

And I did mention I selected on World Cup games only.

Torres is a great shout. Sometimes forget how good he was at Madrid and Liverpool!

He was fenomenal at club level. For the Spanish team that won the World Cup he wasn't all that important. As far as I remember he was a sub after David Villa who was on fire that tournament.

'98 was the first World Cup I watched, so starting there! I've tried to go with performances in actual World Cups, but my memory may have failed me... playing a narrow diamond again!

To be fair though Roque Junior was a starter and a regular, I remember Anderson Polga featuring in a couple of games instead of Edmilson so you could have gone with him

to be honest, I was spoiled for choice with Brazilian defenders, I tried to mix it up a little! Erik Durm was a suprise to me - a world cup winner relegated at Huddersfield. I don't think he even got in the team much did he?! madness.

Also surprised at some of the bang average players in the Italian squad (first team aside!) in 2006 does really make you wonder how the "golden generation" in England failed to win anything.

Yeah can't say I saw much of Durm at Huddersfield at all, the starting 11 for the winners just had that extra quality over England, I think 2002 and 2004 were probably our best chances back then but we faced a Ronaldo inspired Brazil in 2002 (still took Ronaldinho's lob off Seaman to make the difference) and then face the home side of Portugal in 2004 with Rooney going off injured and Campbell's goal being disallowed before we lost on pens as usual.

That match from Kleberson in the 2002 final game was incredibly good indeed! Thats by very very far the best match he ever played in his entire career. He was just a normal player here in brazil (i had no idea why he was called to world cup by that time), but he really surprised me!
