Considering my shortlist of defenders included Lee Young-Pyo, yes, absolutely shocking haha. Good one though this, had to really think as some great attacking midfielders!

Forgot about Tulio Tanaka for the Asian defenders. Even though I think he wasn't a good defender, just a cracking free kick taker

This Asian Team was an amazing challenge, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the votes guys!

How about a Scandinavian all time eleven? So Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland players only? Sounds like fun!

I'll go first... I was so tempted to go for a CM ODB squad as that would be pretty epic!

3-4-3 for me, this was tough and i'm sure I've missed some top players. couldn't find room for Riise, Solskjaer or Ljungberg to name a few! Was tempted to go for Martin Laursen over Mellberg as prior to his injuries I generally thought he was one of the best defenders in the premier league at the time when he was at Villa.

    Peter Schmeichel

    Sami Hyppia
    Daniel Agger
    Olof Mellberg

    Michael Laudrup
    Brian Laudrup
    Christian Eriksen
    Jari Litmanen

    Eidur Gudjohnsen
    Zlatan Ibrahimovic
    Henrik Larsson

    Schmeichel

    T.Helveg
    Hyypia
    Riise

    A.Simonsen
    M.Laudrup
    B.Laudrup

    Litmanen

    Ibra
    Henrik
Gunnar Nordahl (Have to admit I'd never heard of this guy until I did the Gre-No-Li Challenge on here but then I did a little research into him and what a player he must have been.)

Molby nearly made my side as well. Would have been ahead of Brian Laudrup though and well I just couldn't.

Fantastic ask! One that's particularly close to my heart, given my home town's strong connections with the Nordic countries and of course for the fact my boyhood clubs still holds the record for having the most foreign players of the same nation - Sweden - in the starting eleven for a Bundesliga match (media called them "crispbread group" or "IKEA tactic"). It's obviously that time, the golden era of Hansa Rostock, that very much influences my XI - but a few special names from outside pop up as well. Who can forget the flamboiant Thomas Ravelli in goal?! I can not let my team go without the best footballer nobody has ever heard of: Jonas Bjurstrom - at his best for Trelleborgs FF in the mid 2000's, a magician on the ball, his long hair flying in the wind and he'd dribble his way through midfield to eventually set up his less talented team mates who'd waste the chance....

    GK - Thomas Ravelli

    CB - Andreas Jakobsson
    LIB - Joakim Persson
    LIB - Peter Wibran

    ML - Thomas Rasmussen
    MR - Jonas Bjurström
    DM - Marcus Lantz
    DM - Martin Retov
AM - Jari Litmanen (*Free Role*)

    SC - Rade Prica
    SC - Magnus Arvidsson

Obviously this is a highly attacking minded team, with a lot of class on the ball. I imagine the opponent will get little chances even making it near the box because we keep the ball all the time. But if they end up there then they have to make their way past the imposing Andreas Jakobsson.... Persson and Wibran are no real defenders. They can defend, but they are best at doing the simple things. Playing the simple passed out from the back that are so important connecting defence and midfield. Lantz and Retov both different in their dynamic, one can march with the ball, the other hits team mates with 50m long passes.... both can defend as well if needed. Retov is particularly excellent at headbutting opponents - a vital skill! And then, well, there is Jari. He's in a free-role. Let him do what he wants - it'll turn out well. Magnus and Rade will do the rest up front (as they did in the record game mentioned earlier: pass Arvidsson, goal Prica): Prica, the one who perfected missing the open net from two meters out in the most spectacular fashion, but in contrast bangs them in from 25m out instead. While, if needed, Arvidsson will be the man in box, to deflect the ball into the net, or throws his bald head right into a sharp cross from the left from Rasmussen who'll never stop running. Ah.... what a team this is!

    Most definitely a centralised formation.

    GK - Peter Schmeichel
DC - Martin Laursen (massively underrated and a career ruined by injury)
    DC - Patrik Andersson (same)
    DC - Sami Hyypia
    MC - Michael Laudrup
    AMC - Henrik Larsson
    AMC - Christian Eriksen
    AMC - Jari Litmanen
    SC - Preben Elkjær
    SC - Zlatan Ibrahimovic
    SC - Gunnar Nordahl

Hard to leave out the likes of Brian Laudrup, Rommedahl, Ljungberg, Mellberg, Ronny Johnsen, Solskjaer, Ravelli, Brolin, Dahlin, Riise, Berg, Gudjohnsen, Hangeland.

The Porridge Flo, what a story! Great team, great effort. You'll have my vote no matter what.

Can't beat that thing of beauty but I'll throw my eleven in anyway:

    GK: Peter Schmeichel

    DR: Tomas Helveg
    DL: Jon Arne Riise
    DC: Daniel Agger
    DC: Sammi Hyypia

    DMC: Thomas Gravesen

    ML: Michael Laudrup
    MR: Brian Laudrup
    MC: Aron Gunnarson

    ST: Preben Elkjaer Larsen
    ST: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Pretty balanced team, with the midfield heart being tough as nails with Gravesen and Gunnarson running around like murderous vikings. The grace and skill of the Laudrup brothers should provide the workhorse and the prima donna upfront plenty of chances.
Our defence is nothing if not solid and dependable with big strong centre backs and two full backs that can outrun a horse. There it is gents, my eleven Vikings.

That Michael or Brian Laudrup mate? Guessing Henrik Larsson and not Seb Larsson despite being on the left wing?
