    Season 2 Punishment

The FA have announced the options for Chelsea’s second season punishment and they have been listening to what the people want to see, voting is now open:

    Backroom Miscommunication:

Chelsea must release all their coaches, scouts and physios... they can only be replaced with staff who do not speak English as a first language and they must all be different nationalities.

Playing Restrictions: Last seasons restrictions will remain and Chelsea will not be able to sign anyone under the age of 30. Their 3 signings from January may still play but no more than 1 can be ok the field at any given time.

    Self-Advertisment:

To re-promote Chelsea they must only sign and field players with the first letter of their surname that begins with a letter from the name CHELSEA. All other players must be immediately put into the reserves and transfer listed. The over 30 rule will no longer apply.

    Go Broke for the Cups:

Chelsea must get the club balance into the red by the opening day of the next Premiership season. They may now sign players of any age to help achieve this.

Playing Restrictions: Last seasons playing restrictions will still apply in League matches but Chelsea will be able to field any players in Cup matches.

If Chelsea have a positive bank balance by the season opener they will be punished and the people will get to chose 5 players from their squad whom they have to immediately sell and can no longer field.

    Capless:

Anyone with a full international cap must be relegated to the reserves and put on the transfer list, any offers must be accepted. Chelsea can only sign and field players without a full international cap, if any of their squad get a cap mid-season they must be relegated to the reserves and transfer listed immediately. The over 30 rule will no longer apply.

    ELL16: Chelsea 2-1 Sevilla

Sevilla had won the Europa League 3 times in a row between 2014 and 2016 so Chelsea knew this would be their first stern test in this seasons competition. 30 minutes into the game and there was a huge setback for the English club as Gary Cahill went in hard to a challenge and the ref gave a straight red card! In the 42nd minute Chelsea were going forward with a flowing passing move between several players and when Charlie Daniels pulled the ball back to Gago on the edge of the area, he struck a fierce effort home to give the 10 men the lead to take into half time.

In the second half Sevilla were pressing but Chelsea were getting men behind the ball and holding on to their advantage. Then in the 76th minute Chelsea came forward for a rare attack and when Toulalan crossed into the box onto the head of Cabaye, he headed towards Payet who finished with a fine half-volley. There was however to be a sting in the tail as Promes struck for Sevilla with just 4 minutes remaining to give them what could be a crucial away goal.

    ELL16: Sevilla 0-2 Chelsea

Chelsea went to Spain with a slender lead and as the game went on Sevilla tried to get more and more bodies forward. However Chelsea's defence were excellent and dealt with everything that came their way. After 57 minutes it was Chelsea who managed to break the deadlock as Coleman crossed and Giroud headed home. With Sevilla throwing everything forward Chelsea were able to catch them out again and when a loose ball fell to Higuaín in the box he struck home to seal the tie and a Quarter Final place.

    ELQF: Hoffenheim 1-1 Chelsea

The Quarter Finals saw Chelsea travel to Germany for the first leg and they were quickly out the blocks inside 10 minutes when Higuaín skilfully got past a few defenders before scoring an excellent goal. The game from there drifted with chances few and far between for either side. However with 10 minutes remaining Gago was outpaced in the box and took out his opponent, gifting the home side a penalty. Kramaric buried the penalty and the game finished 1-1, slight advantage for the London side.

    ELQF: Chelsea 5-0 Hoffenheim

Chelsea put in one of their performances of the season to seal a place in the Europa League Semi Finals against Dortmund. The excellent Cabaye and lethal Higuain both struck twice in the first half leaving the game dead and buried with still 45 minutes to play out. With 8 minutes remaining the Germans went down to 10 men and Gago buried the resulting penalty to put the icing on the cake.

    February/March League Results:

    Man City 2-0 Chelsea
    Chelsea 0-0 Crystal Palace - Banega S/O
    Chelsea 2-0 Cardiff (Gago, Aouar)
West Ham 1-3 Chelsea (Vardy(2), Giroud)
    Chelsea 0-1 Tottenham
Huddersfield 2-5 Chelsea (Eduardo, Benaga, Pedro, Toulalan, Petersen)
    Chelsea 2-1 Southampton (Cabaye, Payet)

Chelsea hadn't been too consistent in the league and after the Spurs result the board let the manager know that the league performances had to improve. Fortunately for Chelsea they finished March with 2 victories leaving them in 7th place and still with a good chance of a Europa League place for next season, top 4 hopes have long gone though...

    ELSF: Chelsea 3-1 Dortmund

It was another German opponent for Chelsea, this time in the form of a stronger Dortmund side. It took the home side just 5 minutes to take the lead as the corner came in and top-scorer Giroud headed home. The lead lasted only 8 minutes as Philipp levelled for Dortmund, however it was Chelsea who went into half time with the advantage as Higuaín played in Aouar who finished off a brilliant team move. Chelsea dominated much of the rest of the game and did manage to get the goal they so wanted to give them some breathing space after David Luiz bought the ball out of defence and up the field before playing it to Higuaín in the area, who coolly finished to set the Stamford Bridge faithful into ecstatic's.

    ELSF: Dortmund 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea came to Germany with a 3-1 advantage but it took the German side just 6 minutes to close the gap as Alcacer gave them the lead. Twice more before half time Dortmund had the ball in the net but both goals were ruled offside and Chelsea still lead the tie but they were looking nervy and a final place was in the balance. Fraser Forster who was later voted man of the match was having an excellent game in goal and he stopped everything that came his way as Dortmund continued to dominate in the second half. However there was to be a goal against the run of play with 15 minutes to go as Cabaye crossed in and Payet headed Chelsea into the Europa League Final!

After seeing off Galatasaray it would be an all English final as Chelsea would take on Liverpool in Istanbul!

    April/May League Results:

    Liverpool 3-5 Chelsea (Giroud(2), Higuaín(2), Vardy)
    Chelsea 1-1 Fulham (Petersen) - Reginiussen S/O
    Man United 1-1 Chelsea (Giroud)
    Brighton 2-2 Chelsea (Vardy(2))
    Chelsea 2-0 Leicester (Huguain, Brobbey)
    Newcastle 0-3 Chelsea (Aquilani(2), Higuaín)

Chelsea finished the league season with some fine results to leave them in 6th place, meaning next season they would be back in the Europa League, 1 question remained... could they beat Liverpool to win this seasons Europa League?

Only problem with an old squad is time helps them get but time also makes them even older!

Nice end to league season there - goal flying in everywhere

Excellent European performances - can you finish it off though?

I remember Wato (I think) did a Over 30's story - think we were voting for certain thingd there as well IIRC - take a look at it (will be in stories section or Hall of Fame I would think)

    2019 Europa League Final

Chelsea's aging squad were going into the Europa League Final full of confidence after an amazing run in the competition. In their way were a strong Liverpool side who had finished 10 points above Chelsea in the league, however Chelsea had done the double over The Reds so may have the mental edge going into the game. Before the season began a lot of these players may have thought chances for major honours were behind them but today they had a huge opportunity for silverware. Chelsea named a familiar looking line-up for the match:

It was a tense nervy first half of the final, neither team creating much in the final third. Both teams would go in satisfied at the break and look to up the temp in the second half.

Just 7 minutes into the second half and Salah was taking on defenders in the box and then keeper Fraser Forster came out to challenge him but mis-timed his attempted tackle, Salah went down and it was a penalty to Liverpool! Mo Salah stood up himself to take the penalty and as cool as you like he finished to give Liverpool the lead. Chelsea made some changes and came at Liverpool hard for the last half hour, however Liverpool were defending well. 3 times Chelsea did breach the defence and create great opportunities but Alisson was able to rescue The Reds with 3 cracking saves. Liverpool held out and they had broken Chelsea hearts to claim the Europa League trophy, Alisson was later named man of the match for his efforts.

Despite the Europa League Final defeat Chelsea had had a very good season given the circumstances, finishing 6th in the League and they would be back in European action next season. Looking at players stats their strikers had all been pretty useful - Giroud top scored with 24 in all competitions but Higuain was only 2 behind with 22 and Vardy had managed 16. Cabaye (14 assists), Gago (10) and Payet (8) had been the main creative forces for Chelsea. Performance wise as well as the previously mentioned players, midfielders Benega and Aouar, who had both joined in January had been excellent.

    Spoiler!

Don't forget to vote on your second season punishment for Chelsea...

Yea I was happy with that season too

    Board are “quite pleased”

Higuain only on loan IRL, the guys had pre set a transfer for him to go back to Juve end of season. He has no interest in rejoining us so that’s a bit of a blow

    FA Inflict Double Punishment

Poll results had been finalised and the voting for Backroom Miscommunication and Go Broke had tied for first place. Rather than finding a way to decide a winner the FA decided to land Chelsea with both stipulations, leaving representatives from Chelsea once again less than impressed with the FA.

Chelsea did manage to avoid any further punishments by getting the bank balance into the red by the opening day of the league season, though the manager may have gone a bit over the top and the club were nearly £30 million in debt. They had also released all backroom staff and now they had 12 new staff members, all of different nationalities and none whom spoke fluent English...

With so many ins and outs in the summer to get themselves into this financial situation the list was too long to publish. Somehow despite losing over £200 million worth of bank balance this summer Chelsea only ended up with a 31 man squad for the new season, 18 of these players were 30+. The 13 under 30 players would only be able to play in Cup games other than the one under 30 player Chelsea could have on the pitch at any one time in Premiership games...

    PL: Chelsea 3-0 Stoke

Chelsea entertained newly promoted Stoke on the opening day of the season and left some of their off the field problems behind with a comfortable 3-0 victory. Bony gave Chelsea the lead, with his first goal for the club, Vardy made it 2-0 early in the second half and in the last minute Stoke conceded a penalty and Batth was sent off. New German signing in holding midfielder Witsel stepped up to bury the penalty and seal the points for the home side.

    PL: Watford 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea were tending to use Hassem Aouar as their one under 30 player and he showed everyone why with a fine hat-trick in a good away win at Watford. Aouar was enjoying life playing just behind the 2 front men.

    PL: Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

Chelsea ended August dropping points for the first time this season. Jamie Vardy had given them the lead and it looked like being a comfortable victory when Ake saw red for the visitors. However David Brooks popped up late on and saved Bournemouth a point in a game they should have lost.

August ended with a decent start for Chelsea with 7 points from 3 games, although it probably should have been better. However off the pitch the month ended with some terrible news as the board were now stepping in to resolve the clubs poor financial situation...

So I had £100 million left with 10 days to go before the start of the season but could only spend £2m of it. I offered everyone new contracts and crazy sign on fees and signed free transfers then released them. I didn't mean to go £30m in debt. As everyone accepted their new contacts it got worse and worse and was out of my hands. The board are not happy with me over the finances and I'm also losing support of the fans... simply put I f*ck*d up

Still it makes the story more interesting and funnier for you guys...
