So Hajduk has Mosor and Zadar, two regional derbies. Hoping for outstanding performances from the opponents

This are the opponents for the final three games/now two games .

Yeah i'm really pleased how this tactic worked out with the available players.

    Season finale 2/2

So it was time for the final two games of the season the first one against Zagreb should be the harder one at least on paper.
We headed to the capitol of Croatia it was a good three hour ride and enough time to think about different scenarios with the battering 3-0 in the cup in the back of my mind.
The players were flying high it was on me to keep them on the ground it's only one point!

    Let's go! Payback time?!

It happened! The local derby went as we could only wished for! Hajduk dropped points

They were the better team, but you don't win always when you are the better team....

So the gap was now three points, even if we somehow manage to blow it in the last home game against Ivancica there will be 2 playoff games against Hajduk for the title due to same amount of points( we lost both games against them this season one, but we were better in 3 out of 4 halftimes...does it even matter?)

To be or not to be?!?!
Season finale at Gradski stadium, Pula.
As usual i was trying to keep it cool but it was hard... the media, the people in the city approaching you....the whole city was living for this season, for this title!
''We worked our as**s off the whole season, this is it lads, go out and make this city proud!''

In the 18th minute the stadium and it felt like the whole city erupted when our right winger Mladenovic scored for 1-0.

Despite dominating them from the first minute they had their big chance only three minutes after our goal....

It was nice to see our keeper focused.

    Luck oh luck...
It was the 29th minute when Javoricic our midfielder had a big chance but missed it.....somehow he came to a another chance and he took it, headed the ball for 2-0!
    Another eruption in Pula...

69th minute the Ivancica players and the bench protested as the penalty was not given!

We were the much better team and there was no coming back for them...even with this pen...

IT' OVER THE FINAL WHISTLE IS BLOWN!

    Is this the end?

The whole city was celebrating for a whole week, we made the city Pula proud!

The player that stand out once again was Mirko Lukic our man upfront.

As deserved he won two individual awards.

It was not only him the whole team played well, good, outsdanding trough the season.

A had an interview a few weeks after the historical league title, the reporter asked me:
R: ''So what are your plans for the future?''
Me: is smiled and replied '' Istra in Europe!''

    Incredible stuff!

You didn't need any help in the end but good that Hajduk also dropped points

Istra in Europe - That will be interesting - and will likely make League harder to win

    How's the finances/training facilities etc?

I have to try out Europe . Yeah league will be harder, aiming for top4 in league so Europe.

Finances around 2,5m in green/ training facilities adequate :/, board didn't agree to improve but will press the board and demand it after next season!

    Season 4

After three seasons and two league titles, one cup title in such a short time span it felt like a dream, it's time to get back to reality as the new season begins...
We decided to add some experience and quality to our team specially in the defence that was our soft spot in my opinion.

And also arriving from Spain former Hajduk player.

Some interesting news that could have big effect on this season.

Expecting Rijeka in this season to compete for top spots after this message.

    Let's to this!

    Time for some Euro football.
    Champions league draw.

So first game in Europe will be against the Israel champions and if we manage to get trough to round 3. there's the team Guingamp who finished 3rd in Ligue1 last season.

Of to Israel, we showed in our 2nd season that we can compete with teams from top leagues( close games against Sevilla in Uefa cup won 1-0 away, lost 1-2 home).

After the first game the 2nd was just an formality.

    Get to France!

Their keeper had a good game could it bee crucial for the return game? Will it cost us the Champions league group stage?

Congrats on that league title. totally deserved it.

Decent start to the Euro campaign. It will be interesting if you make the group stage and come up against a few giants

not sure on the 29yr old defender

    great v Haifa

    Good start v Frenchies

Do you go in group stage if you come through next leg?

    If so, then

Big cash injection for rival clubs though

Well he matches out transfer policy , he is more a LB then a CB so adds an extra option if we have to change tactic from 3 in the back to 4.

I'm pleased with the start in Europe, if we don't mess it up against Guingamp we are in the CL groups.

    Exactly money, money, money...

    Igor Mijatovic?

In the league we started with two wins, one was against a local rival who got promoted from the 2nd league, Uljanik.

The stuff that was going on in the ''neighborhood'' couldn't stay unnoticed...

    Meanwhile in Europe....

Our future superstar that couldn't get to much play time last year because Lukic was on fire, he should get more chances this year.

    Time for some french fries
    What a performance by Mijatovic!

The stats were much closer then the end result.

    We are in the CL!
    Very nice financial boost.

Let's see who we'll be facing in our CL group stage...can't wait for the draw

    Champions league draw

It was time for the Champions league draw, was hoping for a group where we could have some chances to pull off a 3rd place that would prolonge our stay in Europe.

    My hopes became reality....

The Turkish champions, they have some familiar faces upfront.

    The German giants.

    Greek champions.

Our stats just to compare it....luckily money is not everything...

Let's not fool ourselves here we are the weakest team in this group, financially and player wise.
We will seek our chances against Pao and Besiktas, if we pull of a 3rd place in the end it would be a remarkable achievement!

Let's hope Tsigalko has an off day!

PAO have a few of the Greek superstars too. That is a tougher group than the club names would suggest

Of course we are the outsiders of this group but we are lurking for any chances that could make the 3rd place in the finish happen.

Bayern should win the group, Pao/Besiktas should fight for the 2nd place....should...should....
