Thread: Challenge 40 - The 12 States of Brazil

  1. Are you managing a non league team as looks like they just got relegated from Serie C? Didn’t know that was possible...

What you said about loaning the same players... over the 12 seasons several players played for me more than once, not always my best ones. One striker I tried to get every time played for me 3 times but could only get him when I had a lot of cash

No idea if I'm with a non league team now - will wait for fixture list to come out

Assume they remain in the State Champ though?!

I'm trying to get those players back again - bit harder this time as I'm at a gash club

  3. As long as they didn't get relegated from the State Championship last year but assume you checked that before taking over lol

You'd always rather Carl Fletcher but Darren's ok too I guess.

Season 6 – Colo Colo de Futebol e Regatas (BA) - (Campeonato Baiano)

Good challenge in the league but we fell short at SF stage

Finally got out of debt and made a few quid so will look to bring some perm players in the summer, play Serie C and “go again” in State Championship next year!

    • Semi Final – 100 points as they were a Serie C club when I managed them
    • Goals – 54 League goals. 2 goals in playoffs. Total = 56 points
    • Total – 156 points
    • Total after 6 seasons – 175+347+244+275+272+156 = 1,469 points

    State Championships (after 6 seasons) – 5
    • S1 - Campeonato Carioca
    • S2 - Campeonato Central
    • S3 - Campeonato Nordeste
    • S4 - Campeonato Paranaense
    • S5 - Campeonato Norte
    • S6 - No Win

  10. Ah shame thought you had a chance of 12/12. Right decision staying with club though and building them to win next year

No chance of 12/12 unless you get very lucky in playoff games (doesn't matter if you are best team - somewhere along the line you'll prob slip up)

Ah yes - I could left for another club couldn't it

But nah - I've turned a decent profit here and like some of the players we have and want a summer build and should be able to get playoffs again next year

  12. I think you did the right thing staying. Especially when you get to last few seasons need to be lucky to get a job when fewer teams you can manage

Season 7 – Colo Colo de Futebol e Regatas (BA) - (Campeonato Baiano)

Absolutely piddled Serie C, won it and got promoted to Serie B

Had a reasonable chunk of cash to spend so actually had more of a team of “perm” players than loanees (but did hammer the loan market as always!)

Went on all front so league form suffered a bit but qualified with ease

The navigated way to final well and always in control in the final

    • Winners – 200 points as they were a Serie B club when I managed them this season
    • Goals – 47 League goals. 10 goals in playoffs. Total = 57 points
    • Total – 257 points
    • Total after 7 seasons – 175+347+244+275+272+156 = 1,726 points

    State Championships (after 7 seasons) – 6
    • S1 - Campeonato Carioca
    • S2 - Campeonato Central
    • S3 - Campeonato Nordeste
    • S4 - Campeonato Paranaense
    • S5 - Campeonato Norte
    • S6 - No Win
    • S7 - Campeonato Baiano

We're currently in relegation zone of Serie B after 13 games

14 games to go so I should get them out of it

Got 44 players and some decent ones so won't be loanding that many I wouldn't think

Trying to raise fund to get rid of debt though!

    Now TWELVE MILLION in debt!

We have a 55k stadium but only 7k turn up

Have managed to flog a guy for £10m but that wont go through until Jan (and thej hopefuly doesn't get cancelled!)

Made a good start though - climbing from 25th to 18th and 3 points from 11th

I take he team to 8th in Serie B

We then go SIXTEEN MILLION in debt by end of season - we are paying over a million every month in "ground maintenance"

Then we get a cash injection

Then I sell pretty much the whole squad - and raise £26m which now puts us in a better position

Need the loan market to be my friend again now

Season 8 – AC Goianiense (GO) - (Campeonato Goiano)

Christ – SIXTEEN Million in debt at one point but we sold a wedge of players and got us into a nice profit

    Qualified easy enough

    QF - 5-1 easy stuff

SF – Lose 1st leg 2-1 even though we dominated them. Had our revenge in 2nd leg and mullered then 4-0

Final – 1st leg - We lose 3-0 in a close game but our keeper had a shocker!

Final - 2nd leg – We go a goal down – 4-0 down on aggregate but then we go fecking crazy and get back to 4-4!

I expected to lose out on “away goals” but for some bizarre reason a lovely Brazilian rule saved me - wahahahahahaha

    • Winners – 200 points as they were a Serie B club when I managed them this season
    • Goals – 42 League goals. 14 goals in playoffs. Total = 56 points
    • Total – 256 points
    • Total after 8 seasons – 175+347+244+275+272+156+257+256 = 1,982 points

    State Championships (after 8 seasons) – 7
    • S1 - Campeonato Carioca
    • S2 - Campeonato Central

    • S4 - Campeonato Paranaense

  25. That no away goals rule threw me too, but I think the highest team in the league rule is actually fairer!

That was a MASSIVE bit of a luck for us!

We only conceeded 4 goals in the league all season and then in the fecking biggest game of the season our keeper has a shocker!

So - looking at stats of both games in final wedeserved at least a draw and maybe to win it but we got soooooooooo lucky with that rule

Again - built a nice team there so wouldn't have minded staying another year!

Job proving hard to find now as available leagues diminishing - hopefully wont have to miss a season and can't be selective any more really!

Outstanding stuff with that last club mate!

  28. Yea I found myself taking jobs right at the start of a season a few times which isn’t ideal time to sort a squad out!

    Season 9 – Guarani - (Campeonato Paulista)

One of the toughest divisions then

Decent bit of cash to spend and I’ve sold a load so nice amount in the bank

Relatively happy with some players but bought a few and loaned a few

Never had full confidence in squad though – especially up top

But – a different beast this division – a LOT of tough games

Just about squeaked through the Semi Final

1st leg final and my keeper has a nightmare

We deserve to at least tie the final overall after our 2nd leg performance (but even if we did they would have won as higher seed) so it’s not to be

Looking forward to a summer rebuild though and fecking smash this league next year!

    • Runners Up – 80 points as they were a Serie A club when I managed them this season
    • Goals – 36 League goals. 7 goals in playoffs. Total = 43 points
    • Total – 123 points
    • Total after 9 seasons – 175+347+244+275+272+156+257+256+123 = 2,025 points

    State Championships (after 9 seasons) – 7
    • S1 - Campeonato Carioca
    • S2 - Campeonato Central
    • S3 - Campeonato Nordeste
    • S4 - Campeonato Paranaense

  31. There was a reason I waited so long to play that division and even then only took it on as Sao Paolo...

Hopefully you can build a team to win it next year... you still have plenty of time for 9 Championships

Hard luck mate, I'm sure you'll win it next year with a bit more strengthening of the squad.

    My first multi quote

Aye - never felt good enough this year - decent summer re-build coming up

Some beatly teams in the division but we'll go again next year! Nice to have a bit of cash to spend and be on the lookout for some of the top players

  35. You can afford one more season without winning a championship but sure you’d rather it not be this one
