Challenge 40 - The 12 States of Brazil

Challenge 40 - The 12 States of Brazil

State Championships in Brazil are football leagues in each of Brazil's 26 states as well as the Federal district, and in the case of the Campeonato Paulista is the oldest football competition in Brazil, first being contested in 1902. Due to their longevity and the fact that a National Division wasn't set up until 1959 due to the sheer size of the country, State Championships are held in high regard within Brazil.

Your challenge is to win as many of these State Championships as possible within 12 seasons, and
fortunately as in CM 01/02 there are only 12 State Championships not 27 to play for, there is the distinct possibility of completing the full set if you are lucky.

    Initially you will take over
recent Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Serie A winners Flamengo and try to conquer the Campeonato Carioca, before moving onto a new club within a different State Championship and trying to win that before moving on once again.

    RULES

    - Oct 2019 update (Saturn v8 can be used).

    - you can use any formation (wib wob or non wib wob) however you must have at least three defenders and at least two wide players.

    - you can only sign Brazilian players and backroom staff, however any non Brazilian players or staff you inherit at a club can be used.

    - no month-to-month contracts.

    - once you have won a State Championship with a club you can no longer earn any more points for that State Championship, and should look to move on to another State Championship which you are yet to have won.

    - this is all about the different State Championships so there are no points on offer for any other competition.

    POINTS

    State Championship

Winner - 100/200/300/500 (if managing a National Division 1, ND 2, ND 3 or Non league side)

    Runners Up - 80/150/200/300
(if managing a National Division 1, ND 2, ND 3 or Non league side)

Semi Finals - 50/80/100/200 (if managing a National Division 1, ND 2, ND 3 or Non league side)

    Additional points

For winning at least 3 State Championships you receive 1,000 points.

For winning at least 6 State Championships you receive 2,000 points.

For winning at least 9 State Championships you receive 5,000 points.

For winning all 12 State Championships you receive 10,000 points.

1 point for each State Championship goal scored (includes playoff games).

    SCREENSHOTS

    - screenshots of anything that earns you points e.g. State Championship tables and playoff games.

    - a screenshot of your transfers/loans in as well as any staff hires.

    Best of luck

Can you take a National job (just for fun)

Do you get 2nd Nationality Brazilians? If so, is that ok to sign?

Assume you can load as many leagues as you want which may open up more Brazilian players in DB? (no idea if it will)

Season 1: Rio de Janeiro State Championship 189 points

    My Tactic

Transfers including staffs and prove of nationality (one staff retire before i capture sreenshot of his Brazilian Nationality i'm sure of that as i filter staff by nationality when i hire one but i have no proof of it)

State Championship 83 goals from league stage and 6 goals during final. 100 points as winner with ND1 team 89 points for goal scored.

Been looking for a new job in different stage and finally the first chance i got Paysandu Sport Club 25th team in ND2.

At the end of the season we are able to stay clear of relegation.

Staff in this season only the last two were mine. For players only last 5.

Season 2: North State Championship 273 points

Transfer and Nationality. I signed two Brazillian physios this year. Player is easier to prove nationality as we actually has 0 foreign player

We won North State Championship with 60 goals during league stage, 7 in semi-final and 6 in final. 200 points as winner with ND2 team 73 points for goal scored.

Got a new job with another team in ND2, Sao Bento this time financial situation is somewhat problematic

No signing since i joined the club Finished 5th place in ND2 at the end of season. Financial is better but an issue

Question – Can someone let me know a Non League team in Brazil please so I can see what division they are in as seems Serie C is lowest I have here?

Season 2 – Gama (Campeonato Central)

Fair play – the board chucked in £4m to help finances. I then sold some players and they chucked in another £2m

But I didn’t spend any cash. Loaned it up!

    • Winners – 300 points (is this correct?)
    • Goals – 31 League goals + 16 in playoffs = 47 points
    • Total – 347 points
    • Total after 2 seasons – 175+347 = 522 points

    Squad

    Staff In

    Transfers In

    Loans In

    Well done mate (again).

Yes Serie C is ND3, it must have been renamed on one of the patches. Non league teams would be below Serie C but still play in the State Championships.

New job - bizarre they sacked the manager when he topped the league

Nicely in debt - AGAIN (this seems a theme of Brazilan clubs - same in real life?)

But a big squad so I should be able to wheel and deal nicely!

Season 1 = 180 points. Posting screenies again.

So, after that I probably resigned a little early so getting a job was tough. However, on the 6th February 2021, it finally arrived and I was off to Icasa to compete in the Campeonato Nordeste

Associação Desportiva Recreativa e Cultural Icasa, usually known simply as Icasa, is a Brazilian football club in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. The Serie B club was where I headed (I confess to loving this Brazilian football, wish my story hadn't crashed ).

With no money to spend it was the loan list that the main source of players incoming would be.

We had hardly any staff, so we needed coaches, scouts and physios.

The squad was ready for an assault on the Nordeste. Last years champions, ABC, had finished 24th in Serie A, so the standard was not as high, I was confident I could compete.

Top season for Icasa, top man was Victor Bobsin on loan from Gremio, I'd like to team up with him again in the future!

So in season 2 it's our second title. I hung around for a few months and applied for jobs before getting a new job, it was off to Bragantino, to compete in the very competitive, Campeonato Paulista.

    Season 2

    Champions = 200 points
    Goals = 49
    Total = 249 points

    Total after season 2 = 429 points

    States Won

    Campeonato Carioca
    Campeonato Nordeste

Season 5: Gaucho State Championship 126 points

Last season we won promotion to ND2.

Provided that i have no money to spend and existing team squads need lots of improvement, I think we did okay. Gaucho State Championship, knocked out during semi-final with a team from ND2 80 points and another 46 points from goal scored.

Signed a lot of players but only cheap or free players including last season. No loan No staff

    We won promotion to ND1

Question - The rule is once you win a state championship you need to move on as can no longer get points in that state... what if you keep coming second in the same state would you keep getting points.

Ps. DW I’m not using wib wob are you?
