I have that so many times it's crazy. Remember watching a documentary about it years ago, and about a woman who thought she saw someone in her room and to suffocate her, but really was just halluncinating a nightmare, and she died of panic shock or something. Really fucked up! Normally last about five minutes for me.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerican_Empire

The Aerican Empire (conventionally referred to in short form as Aerica) is a micronation founded in May 1987,[3] which has no sovereign territory of its own and has never been recognized by any other sovereign state as existing. The name is a pun on the term "American Empire".[4] In 2000 The New York Times described its website as "one of the more imaginative" micronation sites.

The Montgomery is not far from me.
It's safer than people say by all accounts although if Boris Johnson gets his way and an airport is built near here then they will have to do another exploration to make sure.

This place isn't far from me - Whittingham Hospital

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whittingham_Hospital

Whittingham Hospital was a psychiatric hospital in the parish of Whittingham, near Preston, Lancashire, England. The hospital was founded in 1869 and grew to be the largest mental hospital in Britain, and pioneered the use of electroencephalograms (EEGs). During its time it had its own church, farms, railway, telephone exchange, post office, reservoirs, gas works, brewery, orchestra, brass band, ballroom and butchers.[1] It closed in 1995.

The place lies abandoned now but the sheer scale of it is insane. People who love to explore go there to try and get in to the main buildings even with security patrolling the grounds. It's crazy to think of the scandals that went on there as well. It details some of it in the wikipedia. It is believed to be haunted now, and you can hear the screams echo through the deserted buildings and see figures patrolling the corridors. Creepy stuff.
