    Cool

This was a fun one-season challenge. The front three are all pretty special and Fabinho also played a starring role. Virgil van Dijk had a lot of mediocre performances but our overall defensive record was decent, so I'm happy enough. There are some fun players waiting in the wings too - Minamino played superbly and Harvey Elliott had a nice spell when Mane & Salah were at the African Cup of Nations.

Used a non-wib-wob 4-1-2-3 almost the entire season - away at Norwich was the exception as their 4-1-3-2 with midfield runners was creating loads of first-half chances (which they thankfully missed) so I put a second holding midfielder on. Apart from this I didn't find much need to tweak, we were generally dominating games and whether we won or not came down to the conversion rate - generally fantastic but Spurs fared best against us, taking 4pts from our two games. They did then help me out though by signing Jamie Vardy in January - although Leicester still had a great season, their record before his departure was outrageous and suggested I might need all 38 games to win the title!

Fair enough. I did also win the Champions League, 1-0 over Ajax in the Final, which was great given how heavily I rotated, particularly early in the season.

Some great efforts here and some of you guys are scoring amazing amounts of goals!

MR_Punk and NormandyWept remember to submit your results here to make sure they get on our tables for any other challenges you do, don't worry this time though as I added them as I was updating the table anyway

Table looks interesting, can anyone beat jgoncalves?

Redknapp69 I feel you need to do this one again, can't come bottom with your own team plus I know you werent actually attepmting this chellenge when you got that score you just had a Liverpool save running and used that.

Yea you don’t have to post it in this one, lots of people do in both. This thread is more to chat about the challenge where the other one guarantees your result gets put in a table

Thanks for the reminder about the resutls thread! Might try a few more so will remember to post there in future.

I was pretty impressed with how well I did with a non-wib-wobbed tactic TBH, but I guess the front three are pretty bloody special so it's hard for them not to score! Probably the highlight of the season was winning 5-0 away in Paris in the first leg of the Champions League Semi-Final, although of course none of those count for challenge points!

From what I’ve seen people are smashing this wib wob or not, scary what a super wib wob formation could maybe do with this team!

Had a very interesting season, scoring 1174 points. Could've done better due to African Cup of Nations and a shitload of injuries. Firmino was out for a month, Mane three weeks twice, van Dijk grabbed a month off, Alisson even had two months on the sidelines, Robertson etc...Fabinho was suspended a LOT, haha.

Gomez did ok next to VVD, Lovren was suprisingly good and Matip is godawful... Milner was a standout as backup, full backs were amazing (TAA racking up like 25 assists).
In midfield we did a lot of rotating and Minamino, AOC and Shaqiri did well. Keita chipped in as backup DMC and even Lallana got some games.
Most surprising to me was the fact that even though he was our best rated player, the team scored more goals when we played without Bobby Firmino. Salah as striker was a lot more deadly, but in the end we needed them both.

    Fun little challenge this! Thx!

Anything over 1000 points on this challenge seems to be a top effort, I'd imagine someone will win the league before 30 games soon but that also depends how the AI does with Man City

Thought I'd give a go myself and although I only dropped 2 points in my first 31 games, some of you won it quicker dropping more point so guess City performed better on my save, ah well. I couldn't manage the amazing amount of goals some of you guys managed either... still a decent enough effort...

Win Title after 31 Games - 800 pts
    112 Goals - 224 pts

Well that was an enjoyable 1 season challenge. This Liverpool squad is incredible, great versatility and depth; very reminiscent of the ODB Roma in a lot of ways. I adopted a 442 and managed to go unbeaten in the league but that would ultimately be my downfall as too many draws definitely cost me the chance of wrapping up the title much sooner. I slipped up on the 33rd game of the season after drawing 1-1 with West Ham which cost me a whopping 100 points. Cups were not my priority and I trotted out a B team for all cup competitions; said B team did incredibly well in the Champions League to reach the final but it was my A team that would play the final and I was massively let down being beaten 1-0 in the final by Juventus.

I think some tweaking on my part with the tactic could yield a better score for me but I'm happy to be invincible. My tactic does not do the full backs any favours in the slightest (TAA and Robertson finished with 7 and 6 assists respectively) and when you've got that sort of firepower at the back you need to be utilising it. Firmino and Salah were my go to front two and they finished on 25 and 26 goals respectively (personally quite happy with that even distribution). Mané was my star performing chipping in with 23 assists from the left side of midfield and Joe Gomez outshined Van Dijk at the back.

    Challenge 41 - A Race Against Time! - Part 1

500 points (Win the Premier League after 34 games)

180 points (2 points per goal scored)

Well, I enjoyed this challenge so much I decided to have another go at it. I re-evaluated the squad and decided to go with a 352 formation in order to utilise the squad better. The results were much better, without having to change too much of the wib/wob.

TAA finished the season with 14 assists from the right, with Robertson chipping in with 9 assists from the left. Salah found much better form in front of goal with 47 goals in a free role and Firmino contributed a steady 28 goals and 14 assists. Mané was again superb contributing 17 goals and topping the assist chart with 18.

In the league we were absolutely bossing it, going 31 games unbeaten. Enter Jose Mourinho. He inflicts our only defeat of the season on us and it delays the title going to us by a game costing me 100 points!

I've been attempting this a few more times since my last attempt and I put in a run where I got exactly the same score (same game winning the league and the same amount of goals scored ). Honestly, AJ's effort is phenomenal. In order to stand a chance of topping his score you'll have to win the league by Game #30, something that so far has been proving to be challenging because of Man City just chipping away behind me.

So I've become slightly obsessed with this challenge. My third submission sees the title wrapped up one game earlier than my previous best which pushes me beyond the 1000 point barrier. I shifted the tactic once more to the infamous 433 which has served many people well.

Goals came evenly across the front three of Mané (55 goals), Firmino (54 goals) and Salah (46 goals). In the assist charts it was Mané who topped them also (23 assists), with Salah (21 assists) and TAA (20 assists) making up the top 3.
