Editing the news and comments

has anyone ever tried to change the comment and the news? do you know how?

You can edit the pundit.cfg for the local and national newspapers

Something like HxD should allow relatively easy editing of some of the news items (others with more know how will point towards the more in-depth changes)

If you search for the text in Olly, you can fairly easily edit the text to say something different - however the amount of space will be limited, and I think it may cause problems with regards to translating the text into a language other than English.

Yes. The comments are hard coded in the .exe. You will probably need to keep them EXACTLY the same length (pad out with blanks) as any change to the length will impact on off-sets to later in the .exe

and about the news? do i find the italian translation in pundit?

I'm not sure how the language translation works. Strangely, I've only ever played with English language

Certainly the text in the .exe is only in English, so I suspect that the ita.lng file has something to do with the translation. There is also a language.ldb file which looks to have the translation of various phrases in it. It maybe that you can just change the italian translations, and not worry about what is in the .exe.

Why not have a play (after taking a backup) and let us know how you get on
