On April 15 1989, 24,000 Liverpool fans travelled to a football match. 96 never returned.
Collectively they've become known as 'The 96' but to the families and friends they left behind, they were simply a dad, a son, a brother and a sister; a cousin, an auntie, an uncle and a grandad; a boyfriend, a husband, a soul mate and a best friend.

Don't know if any of you guys have seen this but four days after the disaster, Milan played Real Madrid and the game was stopped at 3:06pm (the time the game was stopped at Hillsborough), and stood for a minutes silence. The crowd stood for a minutes applause and probably the most touching part, AC Milan fans, in the days following the disaster, printed off song sheets with the words to You'll Never Walk Alone and handed them out amongst their support with a plea to learn them for the game.

and to all the folk who may think that Boris Johnson is a jolly chap and a man of the people.....
firstly he is a tory so that is nonsense and then you need to remember he came out with this,

    Utter,Utter scumbag!!!
Typical Upper Class, inbred, racist bigoted toff
He plays up to the 'loveable buffoon' persona but underneath is an evil bastard.

It's time the UK brought in a rule that only people born in this country could be PM, that would count out this cunt as that is the prize he has his eyes on.The scary thing is that according to the latest YouGov survey, Johnson's popularity rating is off the scale. He has milked the Olympic/Paralympic feelgood factor and it has blinded even Londoners to what he done to their city, decimating public transport and so on. I await his standing for Parliament at the next opportunity. He has Cameron in his sights. Unfortunately he's probably the only person in the country who is a bigger Cunt than Cameron. With the possible exceptions of Kelvin MacKenzie and Jeremy Clarkson. Mackenzie is beyond words. Whether it’s Thatcher , Johnson or the Sun, have no time for anyone who was involved in the injustice of Hillsborough. Whether they made such comments or aided the cover up, all should be named and shamed. In a decent society there should be accountability. Instead it’s the opposite. The PM at the time got away with no threat to her position, Johnson went on to become a Mayor (and all round popular Celeb) and the Sun still sells bucket loads I am not sure if the masses are simply indifferent or simply dumb.
As for the apologies coming out now.....
These apologies are empty gestures, Folk showed their true colours at the time. These apologies are only made to keep their careers on track and on the advise of others.
I hope to fuck they all get what is coming to them one day soon.

'Man's blind indifference to his fellow man', as Eric Bogle wrote about the massacre of innocents in Flanders.
The masses like to live in a bubble in the main. Some choose not to question and some are simply Jeremy Kyle thick.
If it were not for people like Trevor Hicks and others, I would think humanity was beyond redemption TBH.

    9PM tonight,

    History channel

    Doc about Hillsborough.

i actually can't believe how strong i feel about this, i prefer man utd to liverpool given a choice but what went on is fucking diabolical and it needs people [no matter how old or frail] brought to justice.

imagine having 2 daughters and taking them to a football game, then having to make a choice of going in an ambulance with one who was dying [unconscious and dying] and leaving the other one on the turf [unconscious and dying] i really don't think i could go on if that was me and i lost 3 of my children like that. Trevor Hicks and the strength he has is really something to behold.

god bless his daughters and god bless him and his 1st wife.

Beez. Hillsborough was a football cover up. It could have been any other team.

I seen a great post by a man city fan on a Liverpool forum. He w chatting about being in the leppins lane two years early, being crushed against the wire. The opposite ends virtually empty. This was on the cardss for so fucking long yet them cunts did nothing!

It's not about Liverpool football club. It's about football supporters!

    Well said Nirvana.

The fact the ground (Hillsborough) failed on so many counts and what happened previously as Beez correctly points out makes the whole thing stink.

With that many deaths at a football game, no stone should have been unturned and the government should have seen that it was resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible, alas it was not the case. Empty apologies mean nothing, they don't bring back the dead or heal the years of grieving.

In terms of who serves what - it could get very messy... Who shoulders the over all blame... The police? Or the people in charge of safety at the stadium or the league to ensure that the ground is fit for purpose, which it clearly wasn't. There was a lot of people not doing their job on that day and years previous... There will be a lot of book passing, but someone/ a lot of people will have to be charged to make any apology mean something. I, personally don't have the faith in our government to foresee that this happens.

The wee girl and wee boy were walking off the pitch the wrong way wrong. Spelling out 69 instead for a brief moment before the camera man told to turn around last night.

    Class from Everton.

Beez, that game has been discussed on this thread - http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?t=74707

Shocking stuff really, especially as the FA chose to ignore the problems in 1981
