Incredible! Not at home right now so I can't look myself but I am taking player search still shows attributes?

Not fixed that yet. Just found the text '-' used on that screen though - it's used quite a bit though so it'll take time to find the right code.
    Code:
    00449720 PUSH OFFSET 0098BA0C
    0044987B PUSH OFFSET 0098BA0C
    00455D8B PUSH OFFSET 0098BA0C

wouldn't it look better with a single * ? i think it would be tidier, if that is possible of course

  4. #29
Probably suited for use without the coloured attibutes path, or with a modified coloured attributes that has just 5 colours.

To hide attributes on the Player & Staff Search:

    original:
    0080E0AD: PUSH OFFSET 0098806C ; ASCII "%d"

    modified:
    0080E0AD: PUSH OFFSET 00A85902

Only works on players, so you can still see all the attributes of coaches.

The game crashes when attempting to view the player contract screen.

Player search does indeed show a star instead of attributes but by using the filter you can specify attribute values, which people may like.

However squad screen and training screen still show attributes instead of stars.

Whilst I wouldn't play the game looking like this, the * rating system definitely has potential with regards to rating players more accurately in future; using the 1-5 stars as a base for players before finalising their individual attributes.

It's much easier, for example, to say with a degree of certainty that 'Player X' is a * in heading but **** pace etc. Once you've decided what star range a player is in for a particular attribute, it then narrows down your options when choosing an individual figure.

Like we're so used to seeing say a 12 for dribbling and thinking it's not all that, but using the star rating system makes things far clearer. A 12 falls into the *** bracket, which actually makes it a fairly good rating, really. But there's plenty of players who will have say a 12 or 13 in something whereas using the star system you'd probably be placing them in say the ** bracket instead.

Just musing but it's something to think about

I can't seem to get this working
Does it not work? Would prefer to see star ratings myself.

It works to a point, the game crashes for me if you click on the contract screen.

Download the JLTool from here http://www.champman0102.co.uk/downlo...do=file&id=147

Scouting is how I find my players as well, especially after 15-20 seasons and attribute masking was one of the big upgrades to the game when it was released all those years ago, never understood playing without it on as I like the idea that you don't know everyone in the worlds attributes offhand.

It would feel like re-inventing the wheel and a downgrade to me.

Player Manager on the PS1 was a manager game where your players were rated overall in a 1-5 system, dependent on the league you were in (ie getting promoted would mean your 5 rated players may possibly become 4's or 3's in the higher division). I wouldn't want to go back to that personally.

It would be a different challenge I guess but it wouldn't be for me.
Good point. I also like Player Manager 2000 for PS1. I played them lots of time just like CM 01-02. I wonder if there is any way to edit Player Manager 2000. I managed to make some changes with HEX Editor on certan names of clubs like Zagreb to Dinamo and players Rapajc to Rapaic etc.

Result: Player stats screen is blank & only the third column is darkened (first two just show the background image). If player is on loan it appears in every cell in the 3rd column.

Attributes on player & staff search are still visible.

    Now available to download: http://www.champman0102.co.uk/downlo...do=file&id=199

One version has the 5-star rating as shown on the screenshot above (no coloured attributes), the other replaces all attributes with '?'.

    Thank you JL.

Currently working on a patcher for Linux using python. Do you have the original exe that I can compare using bsdiff to create a patch file?

  20. #45
Not sure if I understand the question but if you've downloaded Flex, it contains a tool called Patch Creator that will create .patch files for you.

    Brilliant stuff.

I can never get flex to work on Linux, so I have created my own patches that I can apply in the terminal.

Guys, sorry to up this topic, but i really want to play with mask attributes for all players because just like the OP, I looking for a new challenge and more realistic one. I love the scout players looking for scout from fames and competitions, so I really think it will be make things much more realistic for me.

But the files are off now and I have no idea how to apply this on modded games like GS CM made by Giovani Santana.

Re-post this in the Patches section (with a link to this thread) and I'll see if I can re-create what I did 7 years ago (Now I feel old... ).
