    Computer Specs for playing CM0102

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place for this topic, if not apologies.

Looking to get a new laptop and obviously want to keep on playing Champo. I'm not technically kindred at all and was wondering does CM0102 play on all the new systems and if not, what one should I look for when buying.

    Thanks in advance!

I am happily playing with the latest updates and Tapani patches on Windows 7. I have no experience of running the game on windows 8, however I know of nothing in windows 8 that would prevent CM01/02 from running.

(For a whole load of other reasons, I would avoid windows 8 with a barge pole, but it may not be that easy to purchase a new machine without it)

I have a laptop with Windows 8 and CM runs fine, only issues I encounter are screen sizes/resolution. Saying that alot of people have issues running CM on Windows 8, see here for example: http://www.champman0102.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2799

It's a new laptop for a 15 yr old game, not a new game for a 15 yr old laptop. Once it's not a mac it's pretty straight forward and more than covered on here

    New Laptop

    Hi,

I'm currently looking for a new laptop.

I was wondering what's the most important specification in order to play CM in the best possible way.

    Is processor most important?
    Is Ram-memory most important?
Is a SSD Harddisk most important?

Can you please tell me so I know what to look for.

And yes, I know that CM will run okay on every new system but I just want to know what's the most important specification so i can max that one out

I'd say processor, but bear in mind that CM is ancient software, not designed to utilize today's multi core processors. It will only utilize one core..

Buy whatever mid range laptop, l doubt you will notice much difference.

Oh, and get an SSD. Not so much for CM, but for everything else.

Question what desktop/laptop should I get to play cm01/02?

title pretty much sums it up. the cheaper the better. i'll be downloading original game and probably not any updates. a few patches at the most. Thanks

If the only reason you are buying is for the game then just get something cheap and cheerful. Some of the techy guys might suggest some with decent processors etc

This game is old and low spec so should still play fast even on a decent tablet shouldn’t it?
