That's the end of Barney. Even though he said next year was his last he'd have to hit the floor tournaments just to qualify for 2019/20 World Champs. Not happening at this stage

Bottom half of draw looks favourable for Cross/Smith

Probably one of the remaining big boys will be lifting the trophy.

MvG - there's never been better

Twitter and darts is a big pile of

"MvG is boring" same fella "I miss Taylor", yeah the same Taylor that destroyed players relentlessly for a decade until Barney came along to put it up to him. Yes Taylor had a bit more drama about his persona but his darts were the most boring ever to watch due to the fact he couldn't count very well. Grind down to leave Double 16. Every. Single. Time.

Barney in the 2019 Premier League is a joke, he is likely to end up with a Pl9 W0 D0 L9 record

They are what the Football League is to the Premier League to the PDC. One would collapse without the other

Barney mustve been in a shite mood last night - retired from the sport only to reverse the decision less than 24 hours later

No doubt someone tapped him on the shoulder and reminded him of his commercial commitments...

Think he just wants to do the World's really - he prob can't be bothered to do anything between now and then

Great reception for him in Rotterdam both nights tho

A snarling Aidy Lewis full of his old shithousery seems to be back

"Asshole Aidy" better than him trying to be everyone's friend or buddy

MvG won the next leg of the Battle of the Gerwen's last night.

I think Gerwen Price is disliked for likes. He pushes the edges and people don't like it so it's something to moan about and generate attention. Anyone that upsets the top 10 / Darts Premier League stalwarts seems to give darts fans the hump. The same fans that berated Price are now supporting Lewis being an arse again

Funnily enough he has toned down the double fist pump at hitting a 96 and he's playing superb darts. He's the only legitimate player that can dislodge MvG as world no.1 in the next 2 years. Michael Smith might if he matures.

    Michael Smith - inconsistent
Peter Wright - lacks that killer instinct
Gary Anderson - probably retire in next year or 2
Rob Cross - I think he's lost the fun element of darts which won him a worlds in the first place. Doesn't look like he's enjoyed the fame or travelling associated with being a world champion.

Nathan Aspinall and Jeffrey de Zwaan are outsiders that could push but the way the Order Merit works they are more likely 3-4 years. de Zwaan in a rhythm is an awesome sight. Like a lot outside of the top 8/10/16 his only exposure is the majors. Both natural throwers (as opposed to measure/mechanical styles like Wright or Durrant) too.
