England muster up a semi respectable score thanks to Curran and Ali, on the same day Bell makes 204.

Should be a good end to this game - in the balance

India set 245 to win, should be some end to the test, hopefully we’ll see some more magic from Ali.

England win by 60 wins, Ali the chief architect with 4 wickets but it was looking tricky at one point when Kohli was at the crease.

    Cook gone then!

India were in command when I last looked at 150-4 or whatever - helluva collapse!

Despite his recent form, you can't really knock what Cook has done for England. In Test cricket anyway.

Been around forever. 160 straight tests is it.
We are really struggling for openers now!

A great start for England and especially Cook in his last test.

Cook goes for 71 and the inevitable England collapse follows with 3 wickets in 9 balls (including Cook’s dismissal).

These batting collapses have been happening for years now, pretty much the entirety of Cook and Root's reigns as captain.

    Hell of a shift today.

Buttler and the tail doing great work then the bowlers getting in on the action.

Completely changed the course of the match.

Indeed, what a way to bow out as well, good to see Root back in the runs too.

Really awful! It's hard to win away from home against any team these days, but getting pasted by West Indies is borderline embarrassing...

What';s the hardest thing about playing "away" in cricket?

    Weather
    Pitch
    Crowd
    Homesickness/Travel etc

It's certainly less trivial than football - "conditions" are usually cited. Vaguely encompasses pitch and weather, I guess. Teams can produce pitches that play to their strengths e.g. any Indian pitch will be conducive to spin as they invariably have excellent spinners, whereas the pitch in the second Test against the West Indies was green and fast, which suits them as they have faster bowlers. Teams don't really "tour" any more, which is to say that they won't play meaningful warm-up games to acclimatise to said conditions before the Tests.

Exactly! West Indies humiliated Bangladesh recently in a similar manner. Seeing England go down like that makes one think England is only slightly better than Bangladesh in away tests.

Probably the only team putting up good away performances is India these days.

Typical England today after beating Pakistan in all the ODIís before the World Cup we go and lose to them when it matters

Best ending to a cricket match in the history of the game.

The tension. So much riding on it. England looking out on their feet until that bonus 4 runs off the back of Stokes' bat.

    And then the Super Over.

    Just WOW!
