    evesham

A late addition to the CM Vipers squad in their second season, evesham arrived shortly after Liam to increase the ranks in the squad in a position in which The Gaffer desperately craved competition.

A defensive midfielder by trade, evesham's arrival means that for the first time this season, gazzas1uk will have some much needed competition.

evesham, you need to post in the "CM Vipers - Class of Season 2" thread after every match to 'report for training' and therefore make yourself available for the next game.

    The Gaffer's Comments
evesham was a late but very welcome addition to the squad as a defensive midfielder. This was great news for the club after The Gaffer had been forced to play the likes of Liam, Jesus or pyromyst in defensive midfielder when gazzas1uk was either injured or suspended while EL-TOPPO was rarely at training. evesham was at the club for the final 15 matches of the season, of which he was available for 9 but participated in just 4 games. That's no reflection on him personally though given that gazzas1uk has been one of the most consistent performers in the squad. Even so, scoring a goal in one of those games will give evesham a boost going into his first full campaign next season. If he returns, of course!

    The Gaffer's Comments
As a late addition to the squad last season, this was going to be evesham's first full season at the club and he was going to have a fight on his hands for a starting spot in competing with gazzas1uk and Kaneman. To evesham's credit, he performed the best out of all three during pre-season that saw him start the season as first choice defensive midfielder. But after featuring in the first five games of the season and seeing his form drop, evesham then missed out on the next 14 games before featuring again despite often being available for selection (only missing two sessions all season!). A 9 game spell then followed which only yielded three appearances from the bench as gazzas1uk and Kaneman continued to keep evesham at bay. It's fair to say that evesham took his chance with both hands when handed a surprise start in an FA Cup match against Birmingham and it was his equaliser, his first ever goal for the Vipers, that triggered a comeback to knock them out of the competition! From then on, evesham never looked back as Kaneman disappeared from the scene and it became a case of being rotated with gazzas1uk until there were no centre-midfielders available which led to both players featuring together. An excellent season overall with a golden spell in January!

evesham has won the Young Player of the Month award for December.

It's nice to see one of the more unsung players be recognised this way with evesham having featured in six games this month, recording an assist in the process.

    The Gaffer's Comments
What you see is what you get with evesham. Unfortunately, he hasn't been blessed with a lot of ability at the start of his career with the Vipers but he will never let you down. After completing his first full season last year, evesham resumed his duties as a defensive midfielder with gazzas1uk and enjoyed another battle for a place in the starting XI, racking up 31 appearances overall, one more than he managed last year. With gazzas1uk struggling for fitness at times, The Gaffer was assured in the knowledge that evesham could fill in easily and it was great to see evesham recognised for his efforts by the league with the Young Player of the Month award in December!
