I agree. I wouldn't have him at Cheltenham either. His jumping, to me, looks sketchy and at this point him time will find him out, imo. Says he's only six, so there is, potentially, a lot of upside and he may improve in that department. Samcro looks a serious horse, absolutely.

I think Min is value for the Champion Chase. He's really improved as a second season chaser.

The 2m Novice division lacks a bit of class this year so far, always an interesting one to see it evolve over the season though.

Certainly a good comeback run. Against weak opposition, though. Who knows what his ceiling is. You think he goes there? Granted Douvan stays fit, I'd be surprised if Willie and RR will let Min take on Douvan.... possibly Ryanair more likely? Trip's gonna fine I'd say and while UDS might go there too, it's different ownership if these two meet there. But hey, so much time to go. Who knows if they all stay healthy or not.

Ricci tends to value the win over splitting them i.e. Limini and VVM lined up in the mares last year when VVM could have went to the Stayers since Ricci had nothing in it. Could also be Mullins warned him off as he thought she wouldn't beat Nichols Canyon.

I think Ricci would prefer have 2 bullets at the Champion Chase than split them. It's the prestige with him, the money isn't a huge thing.

Douvan is entered in the King George again so if one goes to the Ryanair could it be him? Hard to know, after all, Min is the only horse Ruby has compared to Kauto Star

Went down to Punchestown today. What a horrible day. Piss poor racing for most parts, freezing cold, sleet... so bleak. But all lit up by the almighty Sizing John. Did not expect him to be so much forward at this time of the year, given bigger targets loom large. But boy was he impressive.

Here a photo I got of him right after the John Durkan this afternoon - was the only time I could be bothered to get out the big one today:

Fantastic to see Highland Reel bowing out on a high. Landed the Hong Vase this morning again; once more finding more when it looked others were travelling better. What a star. Remember still vividly his juvenile season where his dazzling turn of foot wow'ed me - took him longer than anticipated to fulfill the promise subsequently but like a good wine, he got better with time - 6 Group 1 wins, two of them in the ultra competitive environment that's the Hong Kong Internationals. Looking forward to see his offspring...

Not really got the funds to bet race-to-race so did a treble on the odds on favourites yesterday, knew I should have cashed out before Apple Jade run

I backed Apple's Jade with the profit I'd made in the first few races Almost broke even after that though.

    Done:

    Footpad/Bevuer Dair/Apples Jade
    Footpad/Apples Jade
    Bevuer Dair/Apples Jade

Only combo I didn't do had any returns

Same, Apple's Jade was on two of my combination bets as well. Think I had Jury Duty with it and Footpad

Ha ha, going in to Apple Jade running I checked the Racing Post app, from the write up there was no chance it was getting beat

Jack Kennedy rode a stinker. Kept holding her back waiting for something else to take up the running and got her completely out of rhythm. He should have just taken her on a few lengths after the 2nd, get a breather in down the back and lengthen again early enough. Instead he kept trying to get something else to take her along, played into everyone else's hands. This is a horse that would be top 2/3 in the betting for the stayers (or the Champion for that matter). Dreadful. Would have been Annie Power level potential losses for the bookies imo.

    Anyhow, today is another day.

That's a shame then, Dermo. Exactly what Ruby did with Footpad (I think). Stayed behind a long way/time before pulling the trigger and won with ease.

    Altior is some superstar.

So disappointing to see Douvan fall

Gutting for Ruby Loved backing him when he used to compete with AP.

Plenty were worried about Altior only just coming back but seemed to breeze it there! Did me a massive favour anyhow, had Altior on a few different bets.

Yep. Wasn't even tired after running 3m in that ground. Impressive
