    Slower Commentary File

Just a thought, would it be possible to amend the commentary file to make it slower so that games are watchable even with the game speeded up with a patch?

I would love this to be a possibility. I don't play with 20x speed because I enjoy having the commentary at an almost readable pace and reacting to events.

Isn't the speed of the commentary editable in the commentary file itself? On the old server when there was only the faster commentary file it was changed by making where it said 10, 100 to change the speed (or something along those lines)

Untested. All values have been multiplied by 5, which should make it much slower.

It's slower but not quite readable (I have x100 speed set on this DB)

There is however a noticeable difference between Very Fast and Very Slow, which you don't really get when you adjust the game speed.

Increased the game speed to x50 and used the above and it worked perfectly for me. On "very slow" the text was easy enough to follow and the game processed quickly. Brilliant again JL. From Dermo's feedback, could you multiply the values by 20 so that x200 is useable?

Edit: Just tried the x100 speed, "very slow" commentary speed is a little bit too quick for my liking but still miles better than without.

I compared what JL had done with the original events config file and made this one for use with 200x speed:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5P...ew?usp=sharing

I increased all the values to 20000 across the board.

I think it needs a little tweaking to allow for a delay when a goal is scored so that it's more obvious but it's useable with 200x speed.

That file works perfect with x100

Very Fast is still dizzyingly unreadable so games can be processed fast if you've no interest and the option to read other games on Slow or Very Slow

Glad it works well for you, can you add it to the downloads section so it gets some coverage?

There's a certain point when you increase the values which doesn't make the commentary file slower (ie, it doesn't work). I found that the sweet spot was around 20000 and the closest one that you provided is the x20 version. The ones after this were either jerky or just didn't work and didn't slow the commentary down. So the x20 one is probably the best one to be used with x200

What do the numbers correspond to in terms of Speed Adjuster (JL or Tapani)?

Just want to put a 'little how to' on the download page. I'm using 20k one on x100 and it's bang on. 2 seasons playing, no issues

To try and answer this question, the numbers JL posted only correspond to the values within the commentary file that he had multiplied everything by. The best one out of all the commentary files JL provided was the x20 (when tested with the Speed Adjuster @ 200) one but I find the one I did with the 20k values is a bit better (slower).

Great file to have if you want to blitz through the league games and then 'watch' cup finals or big games

What's the disadvantage to using a greatly sped up game speed patch with this? Why doesn't everyone do it if it's possible to slow down the commentary separately?

Like a lot of things, people haven't read about it so don't know about it.

I add it as I may want to not have the blinding speed commentary for important games. It's a nice option to have.

is there a very, very slow commentary speed file anywhere i can use?

I want to use 200x superfast for most matches, but for the big matches I want a slower speed than very slow.

I made it so that all normal events have a 1000 milliseconds delay, all main events 2000 and all crucial events 3000.

You can easily change the speed by using a find & replace routine in Notepad.
This is useful if you want all the normal events to move faster and only the crucial events to stay longer on your screen.

You can't have important matches be slower - only important events.
