    Run as Admin, enable compatibility and disable UAC

    Download Flex 2, unpack it, run and select Speed Adjuster. Select 3.9.68 as the database version and set to x200 (or desired speed). I'd avoid the Max setting as its known to randomly cause games to freeze midway through a game.

    Windows 8 Queries

    Hi

    I had this game installed on a Windows 7 computer with no problems but I am experiencing issues when installing it on a Windows 8 unit.

    I have mounted the game to a virtual drive and having set the compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 3), however when I run Autorun, a white arrow comes up with a spinning wheel, after about 2-3 seconds the wheel disappears and nothing further happens.

    Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

    I go as far as disconnecting from the internet before running AutoRun and still nothing, the problem isn't stemming from anything to do with an open browser.

    Any other suggestions?

    I use Windows 8 64bit and I have the same problem.

    Setup.exe properties

    Compatibility -> Windows 98/ME
    Color -> 16bit
    I checked "Run as administrator" and right-click on icon, clicked "run as administrator" but it still does not work.

    Thank you for your helps.

    I have changed the compatibility to XP and the colour to 16 bit.

    When I run the .exe file, the screen resolution reduces, then a timer comes up, disappearing after a few seconds. 4-5 seconds thereafter, the screen resets back to normal resolution, the game hasn't started loading.

    Thanks.

    I'm running fine on Windows 8 with the following settings:

    Run as Adminstrator
    Run in Windows XP SP2 compatibility.

    No other settings and no other special drive, it's installed on a standard partition.

    Click Open or Explore on the Virtual Drive and right click on Setup.exe and select Run As Administrator on that

    Hi Dermotron

    Your suggestion worked a treat, however when I go to start a New Game, I get the following message "No Memory: There is not enough available system memory to create the game. Please free up some more and try again"

    Any idea how I would remedy this issue?

    Thanks

    CM 01/02 with the original players on Windows 7

    As the topic states, is this possible? I tried searching a bit but im new to these forums so I do apologize if I missed a thread that took up this subject. I am currently installing Daemon Tools so I can download CM 01 / 02 as i've missplaced my CD. I've read about a lot of different patches and updates, but i'd like to play the original game. Is this possible?

    just install the game and start it. you will have original db with to madeira etc. this will be v3.9.60

    or update to the more stable v.3.9.68. most players will still be the same
