VPN + Netflix USA. Seriously is best option IF you watch series and want to be fresh with content.

As Mark is working in IT, I thought he would be familiar with this.

UK is also starting to get pretty restrictive regarding "torrents" and "torrent sites" in general. Pretty similar to what is happening in Germany (the fee for torrenting movie is 500 Euros, even if it's shit one, but you downloaded it).

Btw what series you watch? The direct download option might be even better .

  2. Or just use Kodi and stream everything

Netflix is cracking down on VPN usage too.....

Just because I work in IT doesn't mean I have to be familiar with Netflix? It was just something I thought of when thinking of alternatives to torrents.

I've always used a site called shaaning to download torrents via bittorrent. They then get automatically added to my server where I've got Plex set up and use my PS4 to access it to watch the films.

As I've mentioned, it's mainly about getting subtitles already embedded into films for me. It's too much of a pain to download them separately (and ensure it's the right one too) and then embed them. Muxed is better.

    https://kodi.tv/about/

The program is free, then you simply google a few "add ons" (I use Exodus and Phoenix to watch movies and TV.... plus SportsDevil to watch live sports) and watch what you like. These add-ons basically collect streams from all over the internet and put them in nice, organized selections (movies, TV, documentary, etc...)

I can essentially watch any movie or any show I want, whenever I want (Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Russian language movies, NHL and EPL games, etc...).... and since you are streaming and not downloading anything, it's not illegal

I bought a cheap computer with no monitor, hooked it up to my TV HDMI port, and there you go..... I run everything through there now... plus what I do download also goes on there so I don't have to worry about having another system to play downloads through

well, computer is not a problem...i have 4 of them plus 2 laptops...i use already one of them for downloading tv shows and for streaming football matches...but i never heard about kodi...
it is nice to have sorted and collected everything in one place...surely,i will give this a try...
what about subtitles, are they available along movie u choose to watch?
i am not worried about downloading and illegal stuff...we are still out of EU,and nothing is illegal here regarding downloading...

  9. Some streams have subtitles built in, some you have the option to download and then add to the stream

  12. Streams only run if there is a game on... it might list them before they star or after they finish so keep an eye on what time they are for

You don't really need a PC to be fair. You can buy an Amazon firestick and install kodi onto that. They're cheap enough and most importantly, don't take up any space as all you need to do is plug it into your TV.

I may give this a whirl to replace the current torrent/media server system set up.

  16. True... but I prefer the PC as it gives me more options, and an extra computer.... all the things I download go straight on there, plus the kids don't fight over who gets to go on the computer first

Why use torrents when they can be tracked? Why pay for Kodi set up and another system to complicate things?

Just use direct download links, they come with subtitles if required and all you do is unzip the file and away you go.

They give you multiple download sites to choose from, different size packs to download, hell they even split them into 3/4 parts if you have slow download speed.

They also offer different file types, avi, mp4, mkv

Its the way to go in my oipinion and you can get everything you can imagine, Music, Games, TV Shows, Movies.

https://www.warez-bb.org - this is the best one

otherwise I use http://putlocker.is/ to download and/or stream

I remember warez - That was offline when I checked it before posting this thread so I assumed it had died. Good to see it's back after all.

I've actually started a 1 month trial of Netflix now which seems pretty good, offers subtitles on everything we've watched so far. I know the content isn't always up to date with the latest films but seems like there's plenty on it to keep you entertained anyway.

    Kodi - Add-ons, Builds Etc

    Yo all.

I've bought an Android TV Box....

I got this one from ebay: 20 - bargain...

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KODI-XBMC-...QAAOSwmc1XPY5C

So I can now watch any film and any tv program ever made.
And all live Football, Boxing, and other sports and 3pm footy kick offs, etc.

I have 2 kids and a blades season ticket too. So I dont get to watch as much as i'd want.

    Not had it long.
But if anyone can recommend their favourite add-ons...

If anyone has any good info.

    Good skins to use.

Best add-ons for particular sport and live events would be great as and when they are happening.

    Nice one..

ah, just started a kodi thread.

U can get a subtitles add on and it finds them for most films...

  23. Exodus for every show and movie
Phoenix for other shows, movies, and international TV
SportsDevil for live sports as it combines many of the best sites in one place

  25. I recommend it to every one.... I have a computer hooked up to my TV that runs it, plus I have the kodi app on my phone and my tablet so I can watch early games without getting out of bed
