Away to Norwich in League Cup – 4th Round!

    Team News

Bolton away in 3 days time but we have a lead at the top so will go strong here

Yepes away on Int’l duty for next game so he’ll be in this squad

Williamson gets (I think!) his first team debut at DM!

Keane in for Salas, and Koumas in for Davies who’s a little tired but very much a strong first XI

    The Game

"Comfortable progression to the next round from a professional Swans outfit!"

We want to get this done and dusted in 90 minutes and show that from the off

Strong half from us with EVERY shot on target – and 1 finally drops when no other than Lee Andrews scores just before half time with a bullet header from his fellow full back Hargreaves cross!

2nd half is a bit tetchy and Williamson is showing those nerves so I put Finnan on in his place – not sure when he’ll get another run out now for Williamson

But Finnan’s experience helps and nerves are calmed when Symes hits a fierce shot!

We can then make subs and Salas scores a lovely individual 3rd taking on a few men before a low crisp drive in the corner!

Goal and assist from Lee Andrews!

    Spoiler!

EFL Cup – Quarter Final Round Draw

Away to 4th place Coventry – could be worse!

    Confirmed Transfer IN

    ANOTHER WELSHman

But this fella is certainly a “punt” and will have to ply his trade in reserves!

Young Owen looks good. A bit selfish and needs to improve his passing but tremendous pace and creativity

He looks an "interesting" prospect - some fine att's in places - let's see how he goes in the reserves though!

Always a pleasure to see - don't think Ciy are that good in ODB though and to my knowledge haven't done much in this story. Man U, Pool, Spurs and Leeds seem to be the usual suspects from England

Yeah, Man City were in the old Div.1/2 with Stoke I think on the ODB?

Anyhow, good win and nice to see Salas getting a goal

Great cup draw, not only avoiding the other good teams but watching them getting drawn against each other.

Yeah - Salas still playing at a high level - fair play - those 3 strikers of him, Keane and especially Symes have been great. tevez toils VERY well - just needs to score a few!

Easy win over Bolton, and a nice draw in the next round although away.

A punt is probably kind on Owen, creativity aside he doesn't look much, and at 20 he's gonna have to increase rapidly in the next few years, 14 apps in his career over 4 seasons and doesn't even look like a regular for Walsall, seems a waste of wages to me for sure.

How many games did Symes have before we signed him?

To be fair he had better att’s tho!

Away to 18th place Bolton who are really struggling in relegation zone!

    Team News

Leverkusen at home in 3 day’s time so we rotate a lot today

A debut for Paulo Ferreira, young Pugh and Shaw CB’s (they’ve been great playing for reserves together) and Marcus Simon needs to start taking his chances

    The Game

"Swans once again drop league points in the most craziest of games!"

We’ve completely destroyed Bolton first half – 8 shots from 9 on target

But we haven’t broken the deadlock

You know what comes next – Bolton score

Shaw barges Ahn in the back who gets up and converts

Tevez injured HT so Symes on – we need him now!

End to end 2nd half– brilliant game this!

We have to bring on Davies and on 82nd minute we get the deserved equaliser as Richardson hits a rasper which is parried and Bowyer taps in equaliser

But then Bowyer loses concentration at a corner and Bircham put Bolton 2-1 up in 88th minute!

Panic stations then as we are gung ho and thank feck get an equaliser in 89th minute through Symes from a Davies assist

27 shots we had today – TWENTY SEVEN (Salas had 9 of the feckers!) – point gained or 2 dropped – you decide!

Bizarrely, the board seem happy – maybe in the way we didn’t drop heads when we went 2-1 down

Bowyer with a fine game in CM

    Spoiler!

Spurs draw 0-0 but Boro back with a 4-0 win and go 2 points behind us. Liverpool also climbing the table

But Newcastle move into 4th place after beating Man Utd 2-1

Didn't you drop points against Bolton last year too when they were down the bottom? Or was that Millwall? Or even both ha ha.

18 shots on target and their keeper only gets an 8 and not a 9/10 and MOM, the majority of them shots must have been straight at him and he didn't even need to pull of that many heroics.

    Helluva memory!

    Last year

Bolton - we won 1-0 but then drew 0-0

Millwall - we lost 1-0 away and then they won 4-1 in South Wales

1 point from 12 vs them teams last season
