    Away to 9th placed Sunderland!

They are only 2 points from 6th so will be a tough game today!

    Team News

No game for a week so strongest XI available will play!

Ryan Pugh comes into the first XI in place of Marinho who’s injured

Blondel injured and Bowyer suspended. Pizarro and Davies come in. Davies goes into CM and Feies more forward CM role

WELSHmen Koumas and Bellers on bench

    The Game

"Bonkers, bonkers game, but Swans pull through in the end!"

Amazing first half full of goals – FIVE of them in fact!

Vittek pushed in area and a pen given – Davies scores

Then Kanu scores with a pot shot after good play from Gamst-Pederson

Pugh’s free kick falls into Matthew Jones past who goes on a lambasting run and scores his first goal of the season!

But we’re pulled back to 2-2 as Sunderland score from their free kick as Branston beats the keeper to the ball!

But before HT we go 3-2 ahead Pisani’s low cross is tucked away by Symes!

The next goal is huge and it’s us that get it in quick fashion on 49th minute as Symes scores yet ANOTHER header from a Pizarro cross

The game is now in our control and we put gloss on the scoreline in 71st minute as Vittek scores with a fine free kick strike!

Vittek had a super all round game

    Spoiler!

In the game of the weekend, 10 man Utd and Liverpool draw – dropped points for both is nice!

Just a point behind Man Utd and we have a game in hand

    Post Match Interview

    Reporter: Bonkers game Redders!

Redders: Yes – feck knows what was going on in that first half – pinball and who could outscore each other!

Reporter: In one way, that a welcome relief though that you are regularly finding the ack of the net again?

Redders: There was a spell where the front lads were missing something but now we have Symes back on form BIG TIME, Vittek has made an immense start, Keane always gets his goals and Salas is always lethal. And that’s not forgetting Tevez who has been improving as the season goes on!

Reporter: And news just in that Utd and Liverpool draw – thoughts?

Redders: Well, all we can control is what we do. We’ve drawn too many games this season but we have only lost 1 game in 20 leagues games this season!

Reporter: Good luck for the rest of the season and thanks for speaking to the Echo!

    Away to 4th placed Spurs!

They are 8 points behind us so let’s for sure put them out of the title race

    Team News

We have the EFL League Cup Final on the weekend in 4 day’s time but sod that for now

    We’ve a game to win

Lee Andrews back at RB so Hargreaves switches to LB and Pisani on bench

Massive game for 21 year old Pugh in DC

Feies in a poor run of form but get’s the nod over Bellamy

    The Game

"The old guard make a difference from the bench to hand Swans the points in a nervy encounter at White Hart Lane!"

Blimey – Spurs come out all guns blazing and look to attach from the off!

They get a few half chances before we take control of the game and by HT we are unlucky not to be ahead

Pizarro has his usual niggle but playing well – Feies has about 15 mins before he’s replaced

2nd half starts badly for us and Vittek, Feies and Davies are all replaced by Salas, Koumas and Bellamy – some may say the “old guard”……..

And it pays off – right at the death, that man again – SALAS strike the ball with fury to give the Swans 3 MASSIVE POINTS

Excellent bench impact by all but Hargreaves superb again

Davies will be warned for his performance – him and Feies both in poor form

Vittek has a quiet word on an off day

    Spoiler!

Liverpool win but Newcastle draw which is good

We go top of the league winning our game in hand and surely it’s a 2 horse race now?

    Award News

    Symes back on

Next up is this………………LEAGUE CUP FINAL!

Salas' first goal since coming back from that injury? Great to see he can still make an impact. Hoping you can build up a gap now.

    Good luck in the final!

Indeed on Salas - he is an immense player - 35 but sooooooooooooo lethal

contract runs out this season and currently I'm trying to think of ways why I should NOT renew it!

Gap would be nice given CL games also coming up

You always need luck so thanks!

EFL League Cup FINAL v Blackburn Rovers!

We’ve done well against them over the years

They have an Ex-Swan playing for them as well – TOBROS (who did great for us until GFRay dobbed him into the authorities for being a CM “wonderkid” so we had to sell him :cry😊

But he won’t be playing as he’s injured

The fans are on their way to Wembley again…………..

    Team News

Marinho will miss the game for us which is a blow but Blackburn have a LOT of ineligible players!

BUT – we have Roma in the CL Quarter Final in 3 days and have all of these players ineligible so some of them will play today! (it’s only Feies, Vittek and Pugh)

In a shock move Simon Davies is not even in the squad – he’s been poor of late but accepted his warning – and I’ve told him I’ll need him for Roma in the CL game. He wasn’t happy but understood given his form

So – this is how we line up for the Final………

    Spoiler!

38” – Ryan Pugh took a free kick and headed by Mellberg………

    Spoiler!

45” – Blackburn Neil has a great FK opportunity

    Spoiler!

At half time this is the score

    Spoiler!

The 2nd half is generally a quieter affair but has some key moments……….

48” – Rocchi hits a fierce shot for Blackburn and…….

    Spoiler!

Well, they wasn't as easy as could have been.

And they (including the referee!) certainly kept you in suspense. But you got the silverware!

    Congratulations!

T'was a tough game - but we got the early goal and then it was up to them to get back into it which they couldn't do

I think we had more gears if we needed to

Delighted to get a trophy so early in the season - that means we continue to win silverware for past couple of seasons or so

An easier game than it looked. If only those two attempts in the first half that hit the woodwork had gone in, would have made thing a lot more relaxed.

But retaining the League Cup is the most important thing, congrats!

Home to Roma in the 1st Leg of the Quarter Final in the Champions League!

We are fortunate that Totti and Tudor are both missing for Roma

    Team News

West Ham away in league in 4 days time and the following players are likely to play that given they can’t play today!

Davies and Koumas come back into the team as well as Salas. Henchoz replaces the ineligible Pugh

    The Game

"A 2-0 win to ODB BEASTS Roma in the 1st leg? - I'll take that!"

Roma on the back foot from the off and we push forward.

Hargreaves has it and in space, and still in space, and still nobody goes to him, he then skips by Crespo (?!) and blasts one towards top corner! That’s Hargreaves first goal for Swansea!

And Julio Arca didn’t like it as he shoved Bowyer and saw a RED CARD!

That gives us more impetus in first half and the keeper makes some fine saves as it goes to half time

Jones goes off injured straight into 2nd half – O’Donnell on

    Plugging away but no 2nd……

We then make a couple of experienced changes in with Giggs and Keane on – don’t want them to fluke an away goal here!

And 10 mins from time Giggs and Keane do combine and it’s Keane that puts us 2 goals to the good!

Solid win and no away goal – happy days!

Hargreaves superb AGAIN today – and gets his first goal for the club!

Amazing impact from Giggs though in 15 mins!

    Spoiler!

Barcelona game looks dead but the others are close……….

    Injury News

He’ll only miss the next league game thank feck!

    Competitor News

Excellent – Utd drop points to former league leaders ‘Boro

Which means we’re a point behind but 2 games in hand!

Wouldn't bother with Hassan personally but he seems to have decent form so might prove me wrong.

And the veteran DMC! After Davids and Dacourt previously, it's certainly a formula that works for you.
How good is Tobros! Wow. Well Known wonderkid but still........ WOW!

Great EFL Cup win. Well Done.

Hassan is cheap and good att's and ratings

I'm REALLY struggling to hold my hat on any DC's we have

Wahahahahah - I HAD to sign Vieira!

I never heard of Tobros - glad he didn't play for us though and yes - a nice cup win

    That should do the trick!

Two birds killed with one stone. A 2-0 win at home in Europe and Man Utd losing in the Premier League.

    Happy days indeed!
