    Confirmed Transfers OUT

We’ve developed O'Donnell into the player he is now – a shame it’s ended on bad terms……… (good price tho!)

Whilst we get a superb fee for Richardson!

    World Cup News

Noooooooooo – just a few days after he was announced in the squad, an injury means Symes will miss the World Cup – GUTTED for him not to show his talents in the world stage

    Award News

I’m not even in the top 3 – bit harsh that! (as we won League Cup, 2nd in League, Champions League Semi Final)

But good news that Robbie Keane has been reward with 3rd place in Europe

An offer comes out of the blue for David Pizarro from Arsenal. I counter back with 25% and they agree

    • He has 2 years left on deal
    • Wants 3 times wages for a new deal (from 20k to 60k per week)
    • Is injury prone (struggles to finish games)
    • Have a good depth of talent in midfield (and I need to get the young WELSH guys more chances)
    • Did have a great season last season
    • 31 in a few months time

Reluctantly I accept, I REALLY like Pizarro and arguably maybe I could have let Bowyer go instead of him buit it is what it is………….

    He will be missed

    Players Released (end of contract)

Edgar Davids was great for us on but even more off the pitch

While I feel bad letting Marinho go given he was first choice DC for 2nd half of the season – but it’s a re-build project we are doing here!

Vaughan deserves to play first team after being a fine servant as backup keeper for us!

Henchoz know how was so important – he was my go to guy 2 seasons ago but old father time caught up a bit last season – he will be fondly remembered by the Jack Army!

    Transfer Speculation

Looks like the media are trying to unsettle some of our other players…………

I flatly refuse they will be leaving!

No it's not. It's a very simple 4-3-2-1, with two slots for AMC/FC.

    Mass exodus!

Surprise to see Pizarro go, I liked him but can see why you've taken the cash.

Great fees for Richardson and O'Donnell, boosting the coffers.

    Symes

Yeah - they came in for experience and to fatten squad (and quality) for a CL charge

And we did that - Got to Semi Final twice now

But a change of tac for last couple of years where we will go younger!

    Symes

The olf guard have gone! Some fine performers there though especially Henchoz

Great cash for Richardson and O'Donnell sadly had to go

Pizarro was a gut wrencher but well stocked and a good offer and he is injury prone

Feel bad for Symes - could have made hi a world star at WC

    Award News

    Symes is in fine company

    Players Released

A kid but wasn’t progressing well in the reserves

But we are gutted to leave Salas go – WHAT A PLAYER HE HAS BEEN

    Board Expectations

    Expect nothing less :ok

    Fixture Update

Mixed start, back end fixtures looks reasonable

    Confirmed Transfers IN

This fella Nuno Mata could be our starting DC – looks IMMENSE!

While a bizarre deal (we’re only signing him as he’s WELSH – looks a regen but he’s 28 and never played for anyone -

    Confirmed Transfer OUT

Rustico agrees a deal to head to Germany – we wish him well

    Confirmed Loan IN

3rd goalkeeper is boxed off – but via a loan

Talented kid and eagle eye viewers may remember we loaned him before – he prob needs to start playing some games soon in his career though!

FYI – Newcastle are willing to sell him to us for approx. £1m so may take them up on that given there are no young WELSH goalkeepers around

    Contract Extensions Agreed

Delighted to double Lee Andrews wages and he signs on for a few more years – has been excellent at Right Back

While we have tied Lee Bowyer down to another year so he won’t leave on a free at EOS

    World Cup News

Bloody Hell – England won it

Owen Hargreaves is involved with England and lifts an International trophy!

    Pre-Season Tour

A World Cup Year so we will not travel far – will head to Portugal then play a couple of local games in Wales before the season start……..

    [/QUOTE]

I once got them both for free early in the game.

Marongiu performs best at AM C behind two strikers and with attacking mentality. His finishing can easily raise to 15. He can be quite injury prone.
Nerattini plays very well at M LC (the most left midfielder if you use three central midfielders and no wingers). He is terrible at another position.

If you have time for other screenshots:

Krasen Trifonov is superb at (A)M L.

Ivan Topuzov can be a world class SW/D C. He easily gets a 20 at heading, marking, tackling, jumping, etc.

I never had Grigoris Stratigos, but he is said to be a great passing AM C collecting high scores every game.

If i remember rightly, Nerattini is in KDS' list of good players in ODB/.68 thread...

Some good players coming in, let's hope it's a significant improvement with some key players going out (yes old but showed some historic moments,...)

Lol at England winning WC. Always seems too at least 10 years from start in all my saves

    Grigoris Stratigos
    - yep - looks an assist monster! (if he's a supergreek though then I cannot sign any known "wonderkids")

    Topuzov looks average at best

    Trifanov looks interesting

    A big update!

Can't see Fitzgerald pulling up many teams with the competition ahead of him.

Don't remember Rogers but can see he never played a game. Could be a decent signing though full-time.

Not sure why I signed "Fitzy" apart from him being WELSH - still find it bizarre he's a 28 year old regen!

Rogers looks very talented - £1m+ would get him but loan is fine for now and maybe they'll accept a lower fee going forward - would have ben nice to get a young WELSH keeper but none available

    Confirmed Loans OUT

Williamson benefitted from it last year and let’s hope he does again this year – Colchester are in League 1 (old 3rd division)

Then a big call letting Simon go out. But surely him getting week in week out games can only help? Look at his att’s though!

Benfica away in our first Pre-Season match!

    Lovely stadium, fair play!

    huntington bank near my location

They have Maicon playing for them. A good few years back WELSHman Gareth Bale gave him a torrid time!

    Team News

NEW Formation! 4-1-2-1-2 (same as my DTL formation)

FIVE WELSHmen are in the matchday squad – 3 starters in Vaughan at LB (Hargreaves switches sides), Davies and Bellamy in the new AM role

I put what I perceive to be my best XI out in first game – FOUR debuts and a 5th on the bench

    The Game

"Late penalty starts Swans Pre-Season off on the right foot!

We are the better team first half wit all of our 4 shots on target

Looks to be a bad injury though as Vittek goes off injured - Tevez on

Benfica come into it 2nd half but we are the stronger in final quarter and have a goal chalked off when Keane is offside

Just as the game is looking like a 0-0 draw we get a penalty when Hargreaves is fouled in the area

Davies converts – job done 1-0 final result to Swans – nice way to start pre-season

    Vieira MOM on his debut

    Spoiler!

    Injury News

Nooooooooooooooooooo – MASSIVE BLOW for Vittek

Always good to start the season with a win!

And Benfica are not the least in Europe.

But Vittek's injury is a real setback

Will take any sort of win - with a NEW formation!

MASSIVE blow on Vittek - that just leaves us Keane and Tevez now as recognised strikers (as Symes injured) - but Belamy can also play there and we do have young Randall

    Great debut for Vieira (unsurprisingly).

    Huge blow for Vittek

A chance for Bellamy to impress up front ?

He could do but we do have enough cover really (Symes will be back soon) - it's always an option though as you say but I'd like to see the fella get game time week in and week out

Vieira is an ODB BEAST I guess

Belamy and Tevez likely to fill in for those 3 months now I would have thought!

At the mo, I'm thinking bellamy could have the AMC role locked down himself though as a niuce hybrid between the 2 use his lightening pace to burst forward

Nuno Mata is going to be amazing for you, 7m will be a bargain! How is he not a full international!
