    Caught up since 5th July!

Shame you couldn't find the finish against Arsenal but good result in the next one. Need Liverpool slip up!

Ooh Carlucci looks like he could be a star in the making! Ponzio must have EU nationality for his second nation, no?

Shame about Williamson, could have had the DMC spot nailed down if he'd taken his chances.

Ponzio - nope - £35k a week, no 2nd nationality and only 1 Argie Cap - must be down to CA/PA? (or I'm sure someone mentioned 35k a WP overrider but I thought it was always over 40k?)

Yeah - Williamson does have chuffing good att's when you look at him - maybe he can be reviewed in future

Home to 13th placed Wigan who are to-ing and fro-ing in bottom half of table!

    Team News

Haven’t been tempted to start any of the new fellas but Ponzio on bench (Cup game next where they will play)

    This is how we look

    The Game

"In a game devoid of any quality, Bellers wins the points for Swansea!

As expected we are the stronger team especially at home and we grow more and more as the half goes on

We open the scoring with a fortunate goal when Vieira heads the ball down to Davies from a Blondel ball but the ball bizarrely skewwhiff’s into the net

Langfield makes a fine save just before HT to maintain our lead!

Goalscorer Vieira is goosed for some reason so Matthew Jones replaces him just after HT

2nd half follows exactly the same pattern as the 1st as we are in control

Even more so when that partnership works again – Symes heads the ball down to Bellamy who scores from six yards!

Not a huge deal happens in last 25 mins as we’re happy enough with a 2-0 win

Bellamy stood out tonight when not many others did!

    Spoiler!

Liverpool drop points v Chelsea in a tough match while Utd squeak a win in a very close game with ‘Boro

Puts us back to top ‘o’ the table though!

    Injury News

Club Captain Matthew Jones will just miss the upcoming FA Cup game – no biggie although he was scheduled to play

Liverpool finally dropping points, that's good news for the mighty Swans !

Not a great game but Wigan were certainly parking the bus so good result anyway

Little worried about West Ham though…

Bang in the mix still and with Pool dropping points it could be a blip you can take advantage of.

Away to Sheff Utd in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup!

Sheff Utd are in relegation zone of the Championship so we “should” win but maybe a game they can play with freedom

    huntington bank near my location

Sheff Utd were the club featured in a couple of films – The Full Monty and Sean Bean in “When Saturday Comes”

    Team News

No game for a week but we do rotate the team to give those some game time that need it

Yury in goal, Pugh and Hassan (training well and doing well in reserves) at DC, while Hargreaves gets a chance at DM after a pundit LucasGills suggested that could be a prime position for him

    Ponzio and Carlucci debuts

    The Game

"Young guns fire Swans through the next round of the cup in the Steel City!

    Bizarre start to the game

But that play actually leads to a goal after 4 minutes for Jason Morgan as he scores a swazzer of a banana shot after being fed by Keane!

Then a debut goal for Carlucci as he makes a through run and from Vittek’s pass lobs the keeper – delightful!

But Sheff Utd are not daunted and come back into it on stroke of HT when Yury makes a fine save from a thunderblaster but first man following up is a “blade” so 2-1 at HT in an even looking game on the stats

We make 2 defensive changes 2nd half with Vaughan on for Pisani who had a knock and Ferrand for Pugh who’s on a tightrope with a booking

The ball seems to be in the middle of the pitch for the ENTIRE 2nd half!

Koumas on late for sure things up from a decent debut by Ponzio and we progress to the next round!

Opposition keeper did well to stop it going 3-0 down or worse in 1st half

    Spoiler!

    Injury News

Eek – new signing Carlucci and the physios have picked up something!

    Let’s get him sorted ASAP!

Although his history suggests he does have previous!

FA Cup – 4th Round Draw

    Couldn’t be harder

At least we are at home I guess!

    Finance Update

Nice windfall – and much needed as we were low on funds after the January signings!

If you’re gonna win the cup going to have to beat someone big on the way. You either get a great result or you go out and can focus on other competitions

Good draw. You get to knock Manchester United out now, saving time later.

Seriously though, it's a tough one this early on, especially away.

Your first league win comes in a hard fought 3-2 win over Sunderland, Symes the difference maker once again with a brace one of which was the winner, Keane also looking good with the other and setting up Symes for that decisive goal. Not a bad CL group but you have to stay professional and see the job through, and then news of the return of Kolo! Sure to split the fans given how he exited the club, but no doubting his quality and in an area you aren't blessed with proven quality and his versatility I think it's a shrewd signing - assuming he keeps his head down this time!

Some blasts from the past with that look back, I had high hopes for Danny Graham when he signed and he did well till you reached the Prem, he's continued to perform for Leicester but maybe that's because Championship is his level. Benjamin never really got a look in for you, but I don't think he'd have offered much, maybe off the bench against tired legs he could have used his pace but not a miss for sure, some amount of clubs IRL as well! The rest don't deserve comment

Looking at Shiels it's very surprising he didn't feature for you, he could certainly do a job for higher Championship/mid-to-low Premiership but he's not good enough for where you are now, surprised Fulham haven't used him more especially his record when he has played. IRL didn't do too shabby at Rangers, but that was when we were in the Championship, still surprised he moved on when he did but wouldn't be anywhere near the side now. Never understood the Routledge signing even with him being a Swansea player IRL, no surprise he didn't feature for you as he's awful in game Done well for Bournemouth though so fair play to him, but that's definitely his level.

Iversen was another who I thought would fair well for you, that was one hell of a deal he came in on with King and he didn't actually see much game time, obviously likes France given his record for Lille and Sedan. Bradshaw has some great defensive stats, but his poor jumping, heading and determination let him down, the fact he's not a regular for Coventry shows he's no world beater despite the qualities he does have.

Michael Jack doesn't look much to look at but what a servant he was, indispensable in your climb up the divisions to where you are now, and after being in the wilderness in Scotland it's nice to see him back performing at Orient, nowhere near good enough for where you are now. Thomas another Swansea legend for you, banged the goals in for years but another one a victim of your success as he's not of the standard you need, even with him being Welsh. Britton another like Routledge, legend IRL, poor in game Davidson a nice versatile player to have and a bargain at just £1m, but no shame in selling when you got better quality in. Redknapp just missing Southport off his list of Merseyside clubs Big fan of Louise too Freestone needs to be at the club, the problem is his stats are crap for coaching! I'd have him as a token scout, but he won't agree to that being a coach elsewhere unfortunately.

A great away win at Arsenal thanks to a brace from Davies, the league already seeing you, Utd and Liverpool in the top places, but Utd have only scored 5 times in 3 games so maybe they're struggling for goals this season, we'll see (well I will ) how that develops as time goes on.

The signing of Toure really hasn't gone down well, from experience no matter what that message never changes so you'll have to live with it if he stays, and in order for that he'll have to perform for sure. Not much of a fee for Yepes but better than nothing if not in your plans while you get his wages off the books too. I'd have took that bid for Tevez personally, he's not been great and I feel you may have got a better replacement in (or even given Randall more of a go), hopefully he doesn't go down the O'Donnell/Kolo route now after becoming unhappy. Too late for Giggs to move on, hopefully he can still pitch in if required.

A great fee for Johnson! Big money that he's moved on for!

Shame the new boy has a niggle, hopefully not a recurring one. Nice to see him do well on his debut though and through to the next round.

I'm impressed by his heading (17), tackling (18), anticipation (20) and influence (20), but not by his pace (5) and acceleration (4). He's also not a central defender anymore.
