Aimar is a great addition for the cups but looks like the league may be a tough season for the Welsh lads

    Aimar should be a crackerjack

Winning the league looks VERY tough - I reckon European place would be good effort - and above (i.e near top) would be a good stretch target

Our defence is the big issue but I may mix things up and have "Ernie" as a AM/FWD instead of striker and play Thomas or Fitzgerald given it's a natural position for them

Yeah - a home game against a gash team - we should be winning that

    But must take positives!

Spurs next in league - then CL I think

Yes - will take time or them to gel and settle together and maybe for me to 100% know my "best" XI

The board and fans know the score and not going to put pressure on league performances

    Wales International Performance

    Not the best result………………

Home to Spurs in Premier League – they have won one and lost one so far this season!

    Team News

No change to the team – just 1 bench change as Peter Owen comes in for Ryan Matthews

    The Game

"A point gained or 2 points dropped? Maybe the former against a team that shaded it on the day!

Couldn’t get a nicer start as Simon Davies strikes a beauty of a free kick and puts us 1 up

But Spurs turn the tables and make it 2-1 by half time as Malcolm Christie scores a free kick himself and then heads home from a looped cross

    Work to do at HT…………

And we’re quick to make amends as Jelleyman plays in Bellamy as he skips past Ex-Swan Kroldrup and scores a lovely curler!

But we don’t build on it and we have to be honest as Spurs finish the stronger which is a worry

Our defence didn’t have a good day! Malcom Christie with 2 goals for Spurs takes the champers!

    Spoiler!

    3 points behind the leaders

    Injury News

Arrrrrrgggggghhhhhh – Nuno Mata (1st choice CB) might miss the first THREE Champions League games!

Hopefully the board won’t get too annoyed if you’re only in mid table

Undefeated is all good and well but winning and losing games is usually better than drawing in the long run

Unless we're going for the "invincibles" record!

Gameweek 1 in Champions League and we Welcome the mighty Juventus to the Vetch Field!

    Team News

All change as the “European team” plays!

Clark Carlisle comes in for his debut due to his experience vs Kornieliussen covering Nuno Mata out injured

Crazy that the likes of Luca Toni, Bowyer, Feies and Carlucci cannot even get into the squad – bit of a worry as they could be upset soon!

    The Game

"A highly impressive performance from a European squad which could go all the way!

Very strong start as we give them little respect and go for the jugular

We create a lot of good opportunities but no breakthrough

Then a pen in 33rd minute – Ponzio fouled in the box from a corner – Pablo Aimar with balls of steel steps up to take it on his debut – and SCORES!

    1-0 at HT

Vittek has a bang and book so replaced just after HT.

2nd half and we’re all over ‘em – don’t give ‘em a sniff

Get the comfort blanket of a 2nd goal we needed on 72nd minute when Blondel dribbles forward and hit’s a swazzing swerving shot past the keeper!

5 minutes later our job is made even easier as Boumsong gets his marching orders for bundling over “Sheva”

2-0 final score – a nice win and clean sheet – outstanding performance!

I think this European team could go far……………

Everyone on song today. Blondel edges the viewers vote!

    Spoiler!

Mad 3-3 game between Brugge and Wisla – works for us as we top the group!

    Injury News

Another big blow – our first choice WELSH right back Darren Jones will miss the next FOUR League games

Next up in Premier League at Old Trafford………………….

A superb European win. And some game next for the Welsh team!

I wonder how many players will be unhsppy come December, though. Or earlier.

Another two league draws, opposition GK on form against you again.

Good start to the CL too. Aimar perhaps what you need to go far there.

Biggest test of the season – away to Man Utd – how will this all WELSH team handle it?!

    Team News

Darren Jones out injured – Peter Owen replaces him but was a close call vs Mark Delaney – but his age (35) went against him where I think more energy may be needed!

Otherwise, the team stays as it is

    The Game

"Swans lose to 10 men as they struggle to work the keeper enough! But it’s another JOKE of a decision that gets given for Utd at Old Tarfford!"

Pretty even half as we give as good as we get

Then a bonus as John Terry see’s red for barging over Koumas – dirty fecker!

31st minute and Utd score but ruled out by linesman flag – phew!

Then – once again at Utd, the referee caves in and gives a dodgy pen decision in the home team’s favour – it was fecking ball to hand!

    And RVN as ever scores…………

Peter Owen ain’t played well and Delaney on. Jelleyman has a bump, Matthew Jones drops back, Koumas also drops back young Jason Morgan comes onto the field – go fecking score us a goal fella!

We push and push but we can’t hit the target and make the keeper work enough

We didn’t deserve to lose this today – but that’s what happened and against 10 fecking men

Says it all when Djimi Traore is MOM…………

    Spoiler!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm – probably our lowest position for some time in the league

    Board Feedback

Not happy – bit harsh against one of the best teams in the world but maybe justified given it was against 10 men!

    Post Match Interview

Reporter: Oh dear – our boys in red turned you over today didn’t they?

Redders: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU – joke of a decision AGAIN at Old Trafford – what’s that brown parcel thre?

    acelynn name meaning

Reporter: but seriously, what’s your take of the season so far?

Redders: I think it’s a combination of being unlcky but also not clinical enough. No way we shouldn’t have got something here. We should have beat Bradford and could also have more points elsewhere. But I’m not supid enough to know that if you don’t hit the target you don’t score

Reporter: Some fans are suggesting maybe Fitzgerald or the Swansea hero from yesteryear James Thomas is given a go?

Redders: I’m not adverse to that and if players are not performing in certain positions there will be changes

Reporter: We’re hearing on the grapevine Jason Koumas is unsettled as well after a LOT of bid for him have been rejected?

Redders: Yes – he may want to speak to other clubs but feck all is happening now – we’ll review in January

Many ways to look at it, and never nice to lose to ten men but it was an expected loss, really.

The big question is, will they recover quickly enough?

A far bigger problem is that players like Koumas get unhappy and want to leave. Any Welsh players who do well ro you will be wanted by other teams now.

Prob toughest game of the season so yes - if we got anything it would have been a bonus

But once again, dodgy decision (could say red card even it out)

Think it's CL next v Wisla so they'll have time to physically and mentally recover

Not sure why Koumas unhappy - playing every league game now - although maybe he wants a new challenge as been with us for a while - he ain't happy that's for sure!

    Bad news about Koumas.

Always was going to be tough with a Welsh only lineup. Had started well without taking chances and arguably did it again today with that much time against 10 men.

Bizarre that when he is guaranteed a starting spot he pipes up about being unhappy

Not being clinical seems to be a theme

But we are very weak at the back due to lack of quality......
